  1. Modern TV is utter fucking shite for not showing us the scraps, the flares chucked onto the pitch etc these days. BBC have shat the bed a few times with this in recent times.
  2. Feel like the Airdrie keeper has shat the bed for both goals a bit. Came flailing out but got nowhere near the ball. Not exactly complete howlers but not exactly a big show of competence either. Classy finish from Graham mind you.
  3. Is it? We are one of the top scoring teams in the league out with the OF. Scored the exact same amount of goals as Hearts. We are far from toothless or missing a cutting edge - and unlike other teams, the goals are spread around the team rather than just one player. It's our defence and inability to hold on to a lead that's our biggest downfall. 23 dropped points from winning positions. Precisely the opposite of play nice stuff but do a lot of nothing.
  4. Airdrie seem like one of those teams that complete about 100 passes between themselves without actually doing anything with the ball. Constantly get praised for 'good football' yet are bang fucking average, finish mid table and bore the life out of the neutral. I preferred the old Airdrie style of kick everything that moves and then kick it some more when they stop moving.
  5. The best thing you can say about Colin Steven getting such an important ref gig is that at least it's not David Munro.
  6. If Partick Thistle had a 4th stand, it'd be up there with the best in Scotland for a sell out game.
  7. Appreciate it's cool as f**k for the home support watching one of their own players in the crowd with the megaphone. But the megaphone is one aspect of 'European football culture' that I don't want us to adopt. A drum is annoying but can add to an atmosphere. A wee fucking ned screaming at the top of his lungs through a megaphone would be fucking murder.
  8. Probably, considering Hemming has managed a full season whereas injuries have put paid to Carson's season. Despite a few high profile blunders, however, I'd say Carson's been our best keeper since Rab Douglas. Some of the points he gained us early on in the season are why we're top 6. He's definitely got a rush of blood clanger in him but overall he's been excellent. Goalkeepers seem to be like buses though - as we seem to have another fantastic prospect that's meant we've not missed Carson much in McCracken. He has age on his side so I think most Dees would like us to keep McCracken who can easily be a future Scotland cap (if Zander Clark & Liam Kelly are the standard bearers) but that doesn't diminish what a player Carson has been for us this season.
  9. Bit pish we only got given around 500 tickets for this one. Sold out before I even realised they were on sale.
  10. Cummings tried to say he didn't drink at that OpenGoal event that McPake banned him from but when they released the behind the scenes footage of their show, he was fucking rat arsed and could barely stand. McPake did a lot of ridiculous things at Dundee. Bulleting Cummings wasn't one of them IMO.
  11. Trevor Carson is still doing a brilliant job for us. I can only see us going for McCracken if pushing the boat out for a new first choice or signing a back-up for Carson tbf.
  12. I think Sylla is one of our best players but do agree, when he's having an off day, our midfield pretty much collapses. Probably because he's the only one with an ounce of defensive sense. He has a tard task keeping a midfield trio of him, McCowan and Cameron tight! I'd like to see us retain Boateng if at all possible. I think Cameron is likely to depart in the summer so a rejig of the midfield with Boateng -- Sylla both sitting behind McCowan could be ideal!
  13. At his peak at Dundee, there's no denying Scott Bain was absolutely sensational. He had about a 6-8 month stint where he was being compared to our two last greats in Rab Douglas and Julian Speroni. Some of the saves he'd pull off were absolutely sublime and despite not having a massive stature, he was absolutely dominant in his box. Then it all changed and it was largely his attitude. Greg Stewart noted on a recent Open Goal podcast that he admired Scott Bain's 'don't give a f**k' attitude and he would regularly challenge the manager and that eventually came to boiling point when he went up against probably the most ill-tempered man currently associated with Scottish football in Neil McCann. Apparently they had a full on scrap at HT in a game against Hamilton in which his attempts at diving for the ball were absolutely pitiful. That was pretty much the end of his time at Dens as he was to play a game for the reserves as a punishment for his outburst and he failed to turn up and that was that. His attitude was fucking shocking and he truly believed his own hype. His form was absolutely chronic, he became glued to his line, regularly argued with fans, and you could see he wasn't bothering his arse to try and save the ball. But his biggest flaw, even more than his attitude was his inability to lead a defence. Many keepers, in poorer Dundee teams have much better clean sheet records than Bain for us and that's the main reason. To put it into context, Bain kept just 4 clean sheets in his final 54 games for us. Elliot Parish, a much poorer goalkeeper overall, kept 4 clean sheets in the 9 games Bain was still at Dundee but suspended. In that 54 game run, Bain was out injured for 2 games and David Mitchell, again, another keeper much less talented than Bain kept 2 clean sheets. In the season we were relegated under McPake/McGhee, despite playing through injury (and again being a much less naturally gifted goalkeeper than Bain) for most of the season, Adam Legzdins kept 6 clean sheets in 24 games. Now clean sheets don't tell you everything, but I would say Bain had the best defence out of all the keepers mentioned there as he had Thomas Konrad -- James McPake -- Kosta Gadzhalov - 3 defenders that Dundee fans have fond memories of in comparison to say, Liam Fontaine & Ryan Sweeney. Scott Bain is an example of a completely wasted career. At his peak, I genuinely believe he was Scotland quality and not just make the numbers up like Kelly & Clark. But an atrocious fucking attitude, zero desire to keep on improving and the 'cream rising to the top' stopped him and he's now a distinctly average - at best - goalkeeper. To end on a more positive note, some Celtic fan made a list of his best saves and it might make you realise that he was once had a touch of brilliance in him.
  14. We are battling it out with Kilmarnock for Bruce Anderson. With the way they threw money at KVV in January and Greg Stewart, I can't see us winning this one!
  15. Don't normally go below the Championship for these threads as there's usually little activity in them and I'm not quite as clued up on who is likely to be in for it but quite like the QotS posters on here so thought I'd throw it out there. Usual candidates apply.
  16. Possibly - must confess, not saw a lot of him this current season, but I can't envisage many players for Livingston looked like their normal selves this season considering how pish they were collectively. Has Dan Phillips decided what he's doing yet?
  17. Livi have a fair few players on their books that I'd like to see us act like vultures over. Not all of them - obviously, but fair few individually could add something to our team IMO. James Penrice has already been snapped up by Hearts but Scott Pittman is one I've always liked. Would add a bit of bite, some much needed experience and energy for our midfield. Yengi has been mentioned by the ITK poster on the other forum as a possibility. Bruce Anderson and Nouble are both out of contract as well.
  18. To be fair to Ange, he absolutely bitched this league and I've not witnessed a Celtic team play us off the park with as much as intensity as his Celtic side did with a fairly average bunch of players. It worked for 6 month in the EPL, but it's been found out fairly quickly and he'll be lucky to make it to next season if he's continually on the end of pumpings.
  19. Ange is really, really struggling right now. Must desperately want this season to end so he can ship some of these lads out. He needs to have a quick start to next season though as it's beginning to just look like his tactics have been sussed out.
  20. I'd have them both at Dens and we finished top 6. You're in dream land.
  21. Gogic. For the longest time, I've just thought of him as a useless clogger. A brute with very limited talents but decent enough in a scrap. He fairly shut my puss today. Didn't lose a single header. Calmly dribbled past our attacking players when we were pressing him and was like a true leader for St Mirren at the back.
