  1. I was told when he signed at the time for Raith, Brian Graham was offered double what he was offered at Morton. I don't have many "insider" sources in football, but this one was about as reliable as they get in relation to this...

He was offered double at Raith, the same cash but a two year deal, Morton only offered a 1 year deal

  2. He was up against a very decent, very fast player out on that side that day, and while he got left for toast a couple of times, he got a lot better with his positioning as the game wore on (and compare to our other recent left backs, malone and Dyer, neither of whom were any faster than Donaldson). Against Livi he was very good, to say he isn't progressing is wrong. He still has stuff to learn but overall he is getting better and already looks tehcnically able enough to compete in the first.

So what relation is he to you?

  3. No it doesn't: Reece Donaldson played the full 90 minutes in the last two games there, has played a number of games before that on the other side as well. He's already under contract: we might need some cover, but if he re-signs then I'd have no problems going with Thomson and Donaldson.

Reece has not progressed since he signed his 3 year contract when he was 17, he is too slow which was highlighted in the recent game with Falkirk and I would be astonished if we dont sign anotherfirst choice left back before the start of the season. I would love to be proved wrong but I dont think I will.

  4. Not surprised Malone is away. Although he's played most of the season he's been an inferior left back to Dyer.

You would have to think that next season might be Donaldson's big chance.

Or maybe not! rumours that we have signed a very experienced left back who was playing with Aberdeen earlier on this season. Started off long time ago as a Jambo, played with Murray. No more clues required surely

  5. think that depends on wether its a youth contract or a pro contract, i may be wrong though

    edited to add.

at 16 he would be on pro contracts as far as i know, again i may be wrong, someone could possibly clarrify?

The amount due is set for players who come through the youth system dependant on how long they have been there and is set as a minimum, so there would be a minimum fee due but as Liam had signed a pro contract Raith can negotiate any fee. Big Liam is a good prospect, Raith picked him up from Dundee a few years ago and he has progresses well and spent a week at the end of last season on trial with Bolton who he impressed and were still monitoring. Celtic were also watching him. So another good prospect is sold before he reaches the first team but there are a number of good players coming through, just depends where they are allowed to reach their peak but Raith are not in a position to turn cash down these days.where

  6. Do you have trouble reading? Players weren't transitioning through the whole setup, Lindsay oversaw the whole thing while it was up to Ireland to get them into the 19's

There was a failure in the process which Ireland was involved in so I wouldn't be keen on him being involved in the 1st team

You made a statement firstly slating Ireland then come back claimimg that all these players had made it with other clubs thst Ireland had rejected then after losing your argument about Ireland decide to bring Jimmy Lindsay into it.

What I have trouble reading is anywhere in your posts naming the players we have lost out on that you claim and any evidence that ireland was responsible for players not coming through the system. As I said he has no contact with the players until they get to his age group, he can only develop the players that he is given, if players have left before then then it is not down to him. It is up to the other coaches to get the players to u19 standard before the u19 coaches try to develop them further.

I look forward to 'reading' your list of players who are now playing with other clubs who we rejected - but I won't hold my breath!

  7. What you need to keep in mind is players leave before they get to the 19s set up, Lindsay and Ireland should have been helping players transition and it wasn't happening

So what your saying is that you dont have names. Ireland was with the u19s and them alone so how can he be to blame for younger players whom he had no contact with. MAybe better get facts right before slagging folk off

  8. No disrespect to Paul Smith but if McGlynn does go I'd rather we didn't go with him. Firstly, as far as i'm aware, he's only part-time and we need someone full time, especially if the new manager will have to perform the youth role that McGlynn has just started doing. Also he's not been a manager since he left Berwick Rangers in 2004 and I think he suits the role of an assistant or coach better.

I'd go for Mickey Cameron with everything we have. I wouldn't imagine he'd have any more compensation payable that McGlynn would demand and I'm sure he's still registered as a player.

If he does go it will have a serious impact on the youth set up as McGlynn holds the qualifications to he head of youth, those people are few and far between and someone would have to be found to fill this role too

  9. Hi there, that was me.

Again, your second point is flippant. We all hope the budget is better than this seasons, given that we'll make a loss. It doesn't really need to be said, does it?

Next years budget may not necessarily be much less that this year even though we will be making a loss this year. Take into account the Pars being back down, Cowdenbeath and possibly East Fife being in the league then our takings will be well up on this year. Add having Falkirk, Dundee who could also bring decent numbers then next years first division could be as profitable as it could be for Fife teams, especially if you are doing well.

  10. Good to see Baird keeping up the goals

Thomson came on after half time playing wide right midfield, didnt get much of a chance to do much, but looked pacey and worth a second look, hence why he was listed as trialist I presume. we had Hill and Mcbride out injured tonight which highlighted just how small the squad is, a long season ahead I'm afraid

  11. I was expecting a match commentary seeing I couldnt manage down. Other teams' websites and updates are much better than ours - I've seen our updates half an hour behind the action. Pretty poor. Still, it hasnt diminshed that winning feeling!

And who the f*** are you likes, you were expecting a match commentary!!!!! The site is run by volunteers, who provide a wonderful service for no reward. If you had been uptodate as per information on the site you would have known that there was not going to be any updates today -- because no one volunteered to do it!!!!You should be thankful for the free service that they provide. If other teams websites are so much better then go support them!!

If you were that a good fan then you would have been at the game anyway. people like you who just moan about everything really p*** me off and have no appreciation for all the work that goes on behind the scenes. Get a life!!!

    Rant over.
