  1. All more likely than finding out Gerry wasn't involved IMO.
  2. Pretty sure that last year, the only home kits left were S & XL at the end of the season discount rates. There were plenty away tops left, as well as shorts and socks.
  3. As I've said on another thread, I think all our 'normal' starting 11 have done enough to warrant a contract for next year (whether we can keep them all is another matter!) From the rest, I'd keep McCabe, Cardle, Martin and Williamson. That leaves Hutton, BRE, Fordyce, Paton, Spence, Hopkirk, Reilly all free to go. That should give us plenty scope to strengthen - at least a right-back, centre-mid and 2 strikers. Based on this year, there's no reason we shouldn't be aiming for at least the playoffs - we've not been brilliant this year, but are mathematically still in with a shout for the playoffs with 3 games left. With the right signings, we should be there or thereabouts next season.
  4. 5/10 - should probably already be safe based on the squad available (and without any major injuries throughout the season, apart from BRE). AJ's inability to change things during a game has been frustrating, so hopefully he can prove on that next year. POTY is a tough one, not had a stand-out player over the full course of the season. Probably stump for Higgy - most assists and joint-second top-scorer.
  5. Based on our form second half of the season, we're not too far away from being a promotion-chasing side. For me, the starting 11 all probably deserve a new deal (if we can with loans etc.) - but we need at least another right-back, centre-mid and 2 strikers that will be in or around the starting line-up. I wouldn't lose any sleep about any of the subs leaving - but our aim has got to be finding someone who can regularly put the ball in the net.
  6. It'll actually be 6 points. Utd have got Ayr, Dumbarton, St Mirren & Morton still to play while we're playing Dumbarton, Falkirk, Morton and QotS. Can't see us bettering their results by 6 points, even if we do win tomorrow. At least it'll give us something positive to play for, for the first time this season!
  7. With the current squad, we're a weaker side without Herron. Maybe that's more a reflection on McCabe than him though. McCabe playing also means we've got his long throws...so more high balls to man-mountains Clark and Moffat.
  8. What's the deal with Fordyce not being in the squad last couple of games? AJ hasn't mentioned that he's been injured (only Williamson and BRE out for the first game, then Geggan as well for the replay). Thought it was harsh that he was dropped in the first place, never mind not even making the bench.
  9. Going by AJ's comments, I think our business is done for this window. Maybe get an emergency loan in the next few months should we suffer a few injuries, but we have a reasonably size squad that should be able to cover. The quality of that cover is another matter.
  10. Last time at Falkirk the police didn't allow any tickets to be sold on the day apparently - hence the meltdowns. I'm not sure there's "many" fans who don't have access to internet - or at least, go to games with someone who does. Personally I don't know anyone who goes to away games and doesn't have internet access. There will be a few, but not many. Anyway, I agree that it seems silly that they're not allowing fans to buy tickets in the club shop and give them the details when you buy. Can't see any good reason why they can't make this happen - especially with the additional £1 charge online. But still, boycotting because a website isn't working for 1 day? Madness!
  11. Some hilarious meltdowns on .net regarding Falkirk tickets. Total farce that you can only buy tickets online (with an additional £1 charge!) but talking about boycotting is bizarre. 10 days until the game with nearly 2000 tickets available. Calm yourselves down - you'll get one!
  12. Hopefully AJ can find a replacement striker before the end of the month - don't want to rely on emergency loans for cover until the end of the season. Unless there's someone who's out of contract and can be signed outside the window? Maybe AJ can arrange a beach holiday to find the next El Bak.
  13. 6 starts, 10 sub appearances and 4 goals. Did ok without ever being good - good luck to him wherever he ends up. For me, we now need another striker in. Clark and Moffat should start, with Reilly as back-up. Leaves us a bit light up front - forgotten man Hopkirk could be an option now but I'm not convinced that he's up to this level. What's Craig Brewster up to these days?
  14. Looking at the squad now, I reckon the main business needed for AJ now is to keep Herron until the end of the season. Losing him would be a big blow. Is McMullan already signed to the end of the season? If not, AJ needs to get him signed up as well. The only other business will be if players leave. I'd keep Farid as back-up, but it all depends on his wages and whether AJ has identified someone else who could take his place. I wouldn't lose sleep if he left, but we would need a replacement in. I'd be surprised if Spence and Hopkirk are still here at the end of the month - reckon they both could leave permanently, or at least out on loan. Also think Williamson will go out on loan - with a recall clause should we pick up a few injuries/suspensions. I really like Williamson but he's struggled this year and needs regular game time, and he's now third/fourth choice. Reilly is the only other who could move on - would be no great loss, but it depends on the terms of the loan and whether Cathro actually wants him back! Overall, if we end the month with the current squad still here, I'd be delighted.
  15. That was based on first-choice votes. Apparently after Green, Lib Dems and Tories were excluded, Labour got over 70% of the transferable votes. 'Anyone but the SNP' and they still lost! However, turnout was only 27% so not sure how many conclusions can be drawn from it.
  16. Good luck to him if he goes. It's the type of job that'll make or break his managerial career - after his disastrous spell in charge here, he's realistically not going to get another chance at the Pars. However, a bad spell at East Fife and I reckon that'll be his only managerial job. Hope I'm proved wrong and he does well as he's a good egg, but can't help thinking that he should stick to the coaching.
  17. What's the score with Reilly? Is he still injured? Wouldn't be surprised to see him sent back to Hearts in January. Loan hasn't really worked and can't see him playing ahead of Clark or Farid now (assuming they both stay fit!) Also, is Hopkirk still injured or just not being selected? A front two of Clark and Farid with Moff and Hopkirk as backup seems reasonable enough, with options from the U20s if required.
  18. At least Fordyce looked back to his old self last week. The position is now his to lose...with undoubtedly another howler against Ayr. It'll be interesting what sort of line-up AJ puts out tomorrow. With fringe players like Hopkirk and BRE injured, we don't have too many options. I reckon he'll go: Hutton Martin Fordyce Ashcroft Talbot Paton Geggan McCabe McMullan Moffat Clark Think it's important to keep the same back four as last week - if they can avoid injuries and get settled, it can only be a good thing! Hopefully guys like Spark, Duthie, Smith can get a run out from the bench as well depending on how the game goes. The way we've been with injuries so far this year, I think we'll have to rely on at least a couple of them at some point so the more experience we can give them the better.
  19. Thought Murdoch was a lot more confident at cross balls than Hutton - always felt Hutton flapped a bit at balls into the area, where Murdoch always seems a lot more secure. Hopefully after another full week's training Murdoch will be edging back to his best. For Ayr, I reckon we should be starting with the team that finished on Saturday - except Cardle keeping his place ahead of McMullan. I like McMullan, but I think he's far more effective coming on later in games when defences are tired. Reilly is on borrowed time for his starting place. I get the feeling AJ will stick by him for now, but with Farid getting more minutes from the bench he must be starting to close in on a starting spot.
  20. The next three games are starting to look really important. Morton, St. Mirren and Ayr before the break for international weekend/diddy cup. None of us have had great starts, so it's now time to start picking up points. This weekend, we need to stop the rot and get some points on the board - and if we can't do that against Morton, then it's going to be a long season. Hopefully Cardle & Higginbotham are recalled, and McCabe drops out for someone (Herron?). Defensively, it's a fight between Fordyce and BRE to play alongside Ashcroft - personally I prefer Fordyce, but two league starts and two howlers can't be ignored. Hopefully Farid gets match fit quickly as he could be the difference in our largely ineffective front-line.
  21. I'm not sure I buy into this 'better for fans' line. A lot of people have plans with family on Boxing Day and with it being a Monday, more people may be working. For me I'd prefer Christmas Eve / New Years Eve games - I should still be able to make both, but not convinced it's the best idea.
  22. Attacking 5 of Cardle, Higgy, Reilly, Farid and Clark. Geggan will sort out the midfield on his own!
  23. Someone should tell AJ we need to sign a striker. Bring back Crawford and Brewster. Moffat can do the running for them.
  24. We've got an awful record against Inverness, can't see it changing with that line-up tbh. Geggan and Higgy will score tho!
