  1. Can then move Todorov in to centre half IMO Don't give him ideas FFS!
  2. That was maybe the final straw if true, but definitely a falling out well before then.
  3. Exactly my point. Celtic and Rangers would expect their young players to be regulars in a mid-table/playoff Championship team, especially given their pedigrees in the youth teams. Great squad players to have from our point of view, but hopefully there's no pressure on the manager for more game time!
  4. Never really impressed with us, but never got a run of games either. Certainly wasn't unhappy when Hearts recalled him. Hopefully he'll impose himself in the team with regular starts, but I'm not surprised he's went down the league based on his spell here.
  5. Feeling confident for tomorrow. Which probably means we'll get absolutely smashed. O'Hara has earned his recall to the 11, Fraser Murray dropping out. Be interesting what we do with Mayo/McInroy as I think the parent clubs will be expecting starts but they don't deserve to replace anyone in the first 11 yet.
  6. You're obviously remembering a different Iain Turner if you thought he played well. That season, both him and Chris Smith were total bombscares. Bit like our keepers this year tbf.
  7. Team submitted. Bit of a reshuffle after a disappointing 2018.
  8. Who's heading up to Buckie at the weekend? Missed the last tie so I'll be heading up this time. Any decent boozers near the ground?
  9. After his performance at the weekend, I think Smith be a loss to the team putting him out on loan. His energy & work-rate cause all sorts of problems. However, playing him means having 2 or 3 of our higher earners on the bench (Can we just play 5 up top?) which I can't see AJ doing consistently. Ryan obviously appears to be a great signing - but it's just a bit strange considering we already have Clark, McManus, Hoppy & Smith as options with Higgy & Shiels capable of playing there as back-up. We're still crying out for a central midfielder, and probably another full-back. Hopefully Ryan is registered in time for a run-out tonight.
  10. Even if Shiels makes it, wouldn't surprise me if AJ doesn't rush him straight into the side with 2 midweek games coming up. I'm expecting tomorrow: Murdoch Williamson Morris Ashcroft Martin Wedderburn Paton Aird Higgy Cardle Smith Higgy basically playing a free-role in behind Smith. Paton pushing forward to a 4-1-3-2 when attacking.
  11. This Saturday (22nd July) I'm hosting a charity Quiz Night in Victoria Hall, Coaltown of Balgonie raising money for Cash for Kids (7pm, £5 a head, all welcome!). We've kindly been donated a signed match-worn East Fife strip (pictured) which will be auctioned on the night. It's number 2 and is signed by last year's squad. If anyone is interested in it, can you PM me with your bid please? All money raised will go to Cash for Kids! The auction on the night will follow on from any bids we've received beforehand. Cheers!
  12. Apparently a winger rather than a striker. If he doesn't sign and play tomorrow, AJ must go. Sounds like he'd have made the difference between 6 and 7 at the weekend.
  13. I'm bringing my boots tomorrow just in case. JKS - I'm not going to watch us get humped!
  14. Poor result last night, although wasn't there (friendlies are rubbish). We really need to get at least 3 more signed up before the League Cup starts. We've no depth at all just now, especially in the middle of the park and up front. If AJ is planning on using a back 3 at any point this season, we also need a left wing-back. Talbot is a decent full back, but he's not got the pace to be a wing back. Williamson can fit into that role on the right, but is he good enough to be right-back in a back 4? I'm not convinced. Getting a bit concerned with the names that we're being linked to - and the trialists that we've been playing as well. Are any of them better than Geggan/McCabe/Herron/McMullan/Moffat? Doubtful. Just waiting on Fez signing and all will be good again!
  15. Pretty much this. When AJ said quality over quantity, I expected Paton to be away. Having Cardle & Hopkirk already signed-up, who both couldn't get a regular game last year, it seems strange to keep another in Paton. He's capable of a few good performances, but over a full season at this level? Nah, not for me if we are genuinely aiming for the playoffs.
  16. Shankland was pretty rotten every time he played against us last season - would be another underwhelming addition should we sign him. 3 and a half weeks until the first competitive game, I'd hoped this year that we'd have a more or less settled squad by the time these games come around. That's looking unlikely, so we need the incoming signings to hit the ground running to avoid a start like last year! Still, a core of Murdoch, Morris, Ashcroft, Nat, Higgy & Clark is solid - I just hoped that we'd have added a bit more quality by now.
  17. Has there been any update on Paton yet? Has he showed up for pre-season? Wouldn't surprise me if he's keeping his options open, trying to get guaranteed first-team football. However, I'm assuming our offer is still on the table since there's been no announcement that's he's left (as far as I can see!)
  18. Our current line-up: Murdoch Morris Ashcroft M'Voto Talbot Williamson Wedderburn Higginbotham Cardle Clark Hopkirk Subs: Gill Martin Morrison Luke Lochhead Smith As far as I know, that's everyone we've got signed up so far. Need at the very least 1 striker, 1 winger, 1 centre-mid and a right-back (or a left-wing-back if he's planning 3 centre-halves). Just 32 days til the season starts - lets get a signing AJ!
  19. Would be disappointed if Geggs left - always rated him but, as others have said, if we're aiming top-4 next season, will he be a regular for us? Doubtful. Would love to keep him as a squad player - he's a good player who can play in a few positions and will always do a job. Reckon he'll go though as he'll want to play centre-mid and he's not going to get that regularly with us. Our priority has to be finding a striker to play alongside Clark - can't see Hopkirk doing it on a regular basis - and also a right-back. Depending on Herron/McCabe/Talbot a centre-mid & left back might also be needed. Another winger would be good as well - but with Higgy & Cardle signed up and potentially Paton, it's not a priority yet.
  20. Hopefully get some news this week about who else may be leaving. The priority for me would be getting Higgy & Morris signed up is possible. Keeping McMullan and/or Herron would be a bonus - and I'd be looking at McCabe, Talbot and Geggan getting new deals as well. Regardless of existing contracts, I'd say Hutton & Hopkirk can join Gav out the door. Everyone else, I wouldn't mind if we kept or left tbh.
