What part time players would you actually want us to sign? The fact the league was still in our hands this time yesterday despite how shite we’ve been shows the lack of quality in this league.

What teams have you actually watched this season and thought ‘he would do well for us’?

The rest of the teams in this league are no great shakes at all which makes our performance even worse.

Of the top of my head I would suggest Gaston, Little, McKenna and O'Brien from Arbroath are all better than what we have and are all part time. Then from Alloa you have Hetherington, Grant and Trouten who would all do well for us in League one. From our league I admit most of the players who have impressed me are youth players on loan at Montrose (Mochrie and Ballantyne plus some of Thistles side). Scott Brown from Peterhead is an example of a player who preferred to stay part-time rather than a full-time deal with us. He's better than anything we have in the middle of the park. I'm not saying to go part time altogether but to shut the door on players who are more than capable is insane. Having a pool of 5-8 part time players would be advantageous.

PS. I'm not suggesting for a second that any of the players quoted would jump at a chance to play for us, more that there are quality players out there available on a part time basis.

I'm not talking about spending less, I'm talking about targeting how and where we spend the money. If that means a hybrid team that gets us promoted then great. However, I don't think that 140K is a substantial investment in 2021.

I think a hybrid team should at the very least be considered by the club. You'd assume we could attract the top end of the part-time market if we did and we'd also be securing guys who will have an appetite to play for the club instead of seeing it as a last full-time pay day.

With regards to the squad - I hope we only see Mutch, Dixon and Morrison next season. I'd possibly keep Telfer and Keena but a massive clear out is required.

It’s just rubbish like this that is taking the piss. We weren’t “off our levels”. We don’t have any levels. We played the same if not better than we did v forfar, but weren’t gifted 2 goals. The players must know how out of their depth they are

I actually thought we played better and created more against Dumbarton than we did against Montrose. "Our levels" are fucking appalling.

I too am excited on this upcoming. A trip to Broughty Ferry beach is in the offing. Sidestepping fat minks fae the schemes. What a time to be alive.

Would highly recommend the favela tour. Remember to go with a reputable tour guide who pay a % of the money to the families and community of the area.

    Mutch

    Neilson Durnan Dixon Deveney

    Morrison Gomis Telfer Fotheringham

    Keena Dowds

When we are attacking Telfer can push up one with Gomis sitting to make it a diamond. If G Miller has to play then i'll accept him in place of Gomis. Am I right in saying Forfar earlier on in the season is Dowds only league goal with us?

I agree with this line up, in particular the back line. Hall for me has to be dropped. He's an accident waiting to happen and really could have caused 3+ goals last night.

It's absolutely vital we win our next two games vs. Forfar and Dumbarton who are arguably the weaker sides of the division. This would put us in a great position going into the Airdrie away game with the sides below us all playing each other over that same week. On paper we have the easiest run in now having played Montrose, East Fife and Thistle already.

  6. I'd be looking at a centre forward to come in on loan as well. Zero confidence in Keena staying fit until the end of the season and the rest are not up to the required standard. Hopefully Neilson (if rumours are true) can be a bit of a utility player playing RB, CM or CB when required. Could we loan Nathan Austin and if he currently has a part time job then swap him with Akeel Francis to do that during the week?

Same thoughts and no doubt the last three performances before the shut were abysmal. My fear is that we’ve looked second class in fitness to many teams and with no matches for around twelve weeks, really hoping that the players have been disciplined in their respective individual training routines. The Arbroath game for me is merely a fitness work out.

Absolutely laughable you are concerned about fitness as a full-time side against primarily part-time opposition. It speaks volumes about our current squad of jobbers. We have zero pace and energy in the middle of the park with old man Gomis the only player with a bit about him. Telfer has been our second best centre mid this season by a long shot and should never have been dropped.

Hopefully this break has done the likes of Alston, Keena and Connolly some good to get back fitter.

Purely anecdotal evidence here but at my workplace the majority of staff don’t like working from home & certainly don’t want to do it 5 days a week permanently, most would accept blended tho

Aye I’m definitely in this boat. I absolutely hate the working from home environment and really struggle mentally to have a disconnect from work each weekday. Obviously lucky to have the opportunity to still be working but long term I want to be back in the office.

    I am.

I like the use case for it (SWIFT is something I know well, including its issues, so any viable replacement is a good thing).

I listened to the pre-trial call (about 35 minutes, you can find on YouTube) and it certainly sounded like the SEC were stretching. Though obviously I'm not a lawyer.

The arguments put forward by the Ripple lawyer and those of the lawyers for both individuals named seemed pretty concrete and they did confirm that they will be filing a motion for dismissal.

It also became pretty clear in the call that how they were defining XRP and trying to designate it a security would have wider reaching implications for the whole Crypto market, making that outcome (I think) even more unlikely as the SEC only had US jurisdiction and that's a pretty big market place for the SEC to exclude themselves from.

I think the most likely outcome is a deal of some sort, similar to Tether secured yesterday, and on we go. It comes across to me as the SEC just looking for their "cut", so to speak.

XRP is my biggest hold at the moment. I consider it a long term hold (years, not months) and I'm in at an average of 37p, which you can still get cheaper than if you have capital to spend (which I don't or I'd add more).

My target for it is $2.50. which is about 35% below it's ATH and would represent a notional 5x for me. I've seen a lot of people talking about it going higher (much higher!) than that, but I don't think it's numbers support that without a pretty massive token burn that doesn't appear to be in the offing.

I'll also take some profit out if it reaches $1 and again at $1.50.

To get to $100 (like some folk are suggesting) would give it a market cap of over $4 Trillion (I think!), which is over 4 times Bitcoin.

It could potentially get into double figure dollars, but again, without a token burn (if my maths is right) even getting to $10 would give it a market cap of ~$427 billion, 3 and a bit times Ethereum's current value.

I definitely think there's value there and a potential return to its ATH of high $3 could happen. But for me it's a large cap coin, so it's potential gains are limited, even though it has a cheap price at the moment.

I'll caveat all of the above with "I'm very new to the crypto world myself and still trying to find my feet, so that is all just my opinion, not financial advice, DYOR" emoji1787.png

Yep the xrp fanatics have crazy predictions which I also believe are pie in the sky stuff. I bought in at around .41c so similarly will be taking profits at the $1 marker which I do think could be seen this year.

I think I have missed the dip for BTC as I had hoped it would have dipped a bit further and could have caught it with payday Friday.

ICT remind me of when I played for ICI in the Falkirk District Juvenile league and there was a team in the league called Rancel who played at the Rannoch Park in Grangemouth. The Rannoch Park was prone to really bad flooding and Rancel always ended up with lots of postponements therefore lots of games in hand.

Difference is that Rancel played in an U14 league whereas ICT are a ‘professional’ outfit playing in the 2nd tier of Scottish Football.

Must have been some pler being at ICI. I was at the fierce rivals (at my age) Gairdoch!

  11. I agree an 18 game season would be the best way forward. However; I don’t understand the criticism of fans and clubs at the other end of the table as if it were back in the season with Ray McKinnon sitting bottom of the Championship I’d be crying for null and void. We’ve got to hope an 18 game season suits the majority which I think it will. Dumbarton and above can all still make the playoffs.

Tough. They wouldn’t get a say in whether the play off’s go ahead or not. In fairness, it would only affect 1 team as the top end could play when scheduled.

Why should they have to extend players contracts and compete in a relegation playoff potentially one month after their last competitive fixture? They will be at a total disadvantage. This is obviously based on the worst case scenario that games run into June.
