  1. Geraint Thomas looked decent in winning in a break away at the Tour Down Under. Apparently Gilbert went down with about 15 others 4-5km from the end, but god forbidden Liggett & Sherwin mention what's happening to one of the pre-race favourites.
  2. Aye, was 4-4. McCann hat-trick & Weir for them, Grant & MacPherson both got 2 for us. Pasquale Bruno was a bit of a psycho, wasn't he? Granted my memory of 97 is foggy but he seemed intimidating. I'd certainly not want to sit on his knee! And you're right, a pretty good Hearts side that, they brought up their first team which was good of them. Swap him for Tidser in the summer. Deal?
  3. In the process of going through some stuff at my parents house, dumping old rubbish. In a dusty drawer I just found a match programme from Gordon Connelly's testimonial (against Hearts) from as far as I can tell 1997. There are a couple of others, but that's the most interesting. Nice thing to flick through even if it mostly just adverts!
  4. I don't know about that. It's like anyone complaining about being under-appreciated at their work, I can't blame him. Glad to hear he's made a go of it at Falkirk.
  5. The only sound you hear at Somerset Park these days is weeping
  6. Despite being understandably gutted at that moment, I laughed a lot when i saw that. Pure disgust
  7. You're awfully chuffed considering your team (who are in excellent form) managed a draw against a team from a wee village who are playing like a side who will be in a relegation scrap at the end of the season
  8. Does it? Considering that this has been talked about for a couple of months now I don't think it's really that suspicious. There was talks about Cav leaving Sky because the team would be focusing even more on GTs, which would rather hamper his number of wins, dating back to the Tour de France
  9. Well that was inevitable

  10. It's not that harsh really, you said it yourself, he's not really an effective right back, & where else will he play? And to be fair, it's not really all about Friday either. I've warmed to him considerably after a very brief SEETHING "how can we sign him?" childish attitude the day he was announced as a County player but I'd like to see someone else given a go to see if they can give us more.
  11. I'd like to see Brown given a chance before bringing in another keeper. He's got SPL experience, might as well give him a go if we do lose faith in Fraser. We desperately needed creativity in the summer, it's hardly a new flaw, it's just more noticeable now that the defence has cracked in the past couple of games. Don't think McMenamin was "shite" last night, he's just a striker who doesn't make things happen himself & got bugger all in the way of service. Is he an SPL quality player? Well, probably not. Was he at fault last night? Not really.
  12. Can't believe Lawson wasn't even on the bench last night but Jimmy Scott started, again showing nothing
  13. Oh,. we're definitely not as good as last season. But the gap between us last year was so big that we've still little fear in actually finishing below Dundee in the league.
  14. Thanks for your well wishes Biggie. It's appreciated, you're a good lad.
  15. Grant Munro & Scott Boyd, a new central defensive partnership for Rio
  16. So for the sake of amusement, who isn't cheating?
  17. I can well believe it. But end of the day, got to trust that the manager who got us from Division 2 to the SPL & a cup final knows what he's doing. I'm not going to be hugely enthused by the signing but then I'm not hugely enthused by Colin McMenamin as our main attacking threat either. But I don't expect we'll meet his wage demands anyway so it's a moot point
  18. Who else is out there for us to sign upfront? I mean it's pretty clear that if McMenamin is our #1 striker then goals are going to be extremely hard to come by. If the best option is an arrogant underachieving ned then that's the best option. Shite but we're a newly promoted team on a budget. Besides, lets not forget, our manager punched one of his players after a game, so he's got to be Arsehole Number 1 for Ross County I'll be surprised if we do end up bringing Riordan in. He didn't exactly set the heather on fire at St Johnstone, he's not the player that he once was, could well disrupt the dressing room with his attitude. But if that's who Derek wants then he's earned our trust by this point.
  19. Gound certainly looks very good on the telly, well, that odd gazebo bit excepted. Might have been the wine talking but it had me giggling like a wee bairn. Fantastic result by the lads in the season opener, very proud of them all. Good not to begn with a loss.
  20. Stop quoting the poor auld dear. She just craves a bit of attention.
  21. Good post, well worth a bump with 27.5kms to go
