All things Dundee FC

I honestly doubt the club would be daft enough to post pictures of potential new signings or trialists before they were announced officially as our players. Shows how desperate we all are for a signing though haha! -

Don’t forget we still have Meekings! I think a good pre season is what he needs ! -

Has anyone heard any rumblings about the stadium? I thought we were supposed to have a hearing with the council in Dec 17? -

Interesting that we would give the council some of the land to allow them to expand the ice rink. A bit of a sweetener for the project and training pitches? The whole development is really well thought out and generates cash for the club on a constant basis. Hopefully this helps us to move forward as a club! Exciting times ahead. -

I'm not someone who pretend to be ITK but somebody I know who genuinely is ITK has told me Aucho wasn't up to standard and wouldn't be back at dens. It will be interesting to see if that is the case now we have managed to offload Hateley. -

Now the window is closed and we know what our squad is going to look like now until at least xmas, what does everyone think is our best starting 11? In an ideal, injury free world I'd go.. Bain, Aurtenetxe, Meekings, Hendry, Kerr, Kamara, Gowser, Deacon, Allan, Aj, Moussa. -

He's played a lot of football for a lot of big clubs and is still quite young. On paper a definite step up in class. ???? -

I'd heard from someone else that Aucho and the Left back were brilliant. Funny how folk can see different things in a game. -

Apparently a striker (not an U20), Jamie is his name.. don't know how accurate that is.. -

I'd bought my tickets in advance and we got in at the second turnstile absolutely no bother at 2.50. Folk that were paying on the gate were the only ones having to queue. -

United needed that signing.. Hibs are going to boss that league and have had made a high number of high profile signings. I see this as more of a way of appeasing united fans than any sign of intent. United know they won't win the league this year. -

Do Premier League teams still get 100k if Celtic qualify for UCL? Looking good if tonight's score is anything to go by! -

Feel for you mate. Some of its horrific, Dabs probably deservedly ahead. They look a bit better than last year but those CH's still look a bomb scare. I would have thought they would have replaced them! -

Exactly. PH and the team will know this is a minority. These guys forget how good we have it. -

Brilliant today! I know we won't play Forfar every week but you have to beat the team that's in front of you and we did so, very comfortably. Yordi was brilliant, he tracked back, has real fight, and started the movement that lead to his goal by winning the ball back deep in our half. A couple of additions and we will be a very good team. -

I wonder what has happened to the CH we were expected to sign last week? Anyone heard anything? -

It's always nice to come for a wee visit upstairs. I think the negativity is more frustration than anything else. Saturday was a frustrating game against a side who I think will push for promotion to the championship. You are right, we had a number of our first pick players out, a number of new signings making their debuts and a half fit Hemmings proving he can still score from nothing. Saturday was exactly what you said it was, a glorified pre season game. I don't think any of us are really too worried about it but I think it's safe to say we were all frustrated as we expected, with the pool of players we have, to have won that game. It's really not the end of the world. As for the signings- we as usual, did most of our business early. Before last season had finished we had Vincent and Williams signed up from Caley, we have brought in Tijesse, Duffy and O'Hara (who I think looks a potentially very good player). We are expected to bring in a new defender and if, as it now seems likely, we lose Jeebs then I would image we would look to secure a replacement. Given that we have the majority of last seasons team with the new guys on top, I actually think we are better in terms of playing staff than we have been in our last two seasons. The only player I would have like to have kept from last season is McGinn but I think Kerr is a capable replacement (albeit he has a bit of learning to do.) Dundee fans, in the main, are right behind Hartley but there will always be an element of any support who don't like their manager. With a weeks extra training under our belts, the return of Greg Stewart and a point to prove after last week I fully expect the team to push on and improve on last season. This time of year throws up all sorts of funny results as players get fit and get to know each other, new systems etc etc. You only have to look back two years when we were pumping Man City at Dens. That would never happen mid season. Well done to you lot tonight, knocking 6 past a league two team is no mean feat. ;P Dunfermline look a decent team. With an improved St Mirren, the Hibbes and Falkirk too, you lot have your hands full downstairs!
