It's also not been announced that Dundee have released him. I'd say it's pretty safe to assume that they've offered him a contract, and that they are now due a compensation fee.

Fisher hasn't signed the extension yet I'd imagine so the clubs might be working it out between them? I'm not sure he's worth paying a fee for tbh.

Well he has been offered a deal at Dundee that's for sure. We've been announcing signings/ re-signings at the rate of one per day but he must be about the last of those who were offered to either sign or reject a new contract. I can't see him getting much game time so it wouldn't surprise me to see him take up a two year contract and then go out on loan.

    Brave New World.

An interesting concept, thought provoking philosophical stuff. Bit Meh if I’m honest though.

I read it not so long ago. It has a reputation as a seminal novel and is often promoted in these lists of  "100 books you should read before you die" along side the likes of "1984" . Like you I found it a bit meh, in fact a bit childish...and as a prophecy of the future as seen from the 30s or 40's it has proven to nowhere near as accurate as "1984"

I think everyone’s aware that a fee might be due. But we’ve paid a few development fees in recent years. If McPake wants him and Fisher wants to come, it’ll happen. I think people sometimes overestimate these development fees. If Fisher is happy to sign a 3 year deal, the club will be comfortable paying a small fee and agree a sell on % with Dundee.

Hopefully that all works out for him. He played for us a few times last season, mainly as a right back but it is difficult to imagine him featuring in the premier league (although given the current state of our squad who knows). The best case for him is that he gets the move and develops his career playing regularly for you.

Anyone else watch the review thing with McPake and Steven Mill on youtube. When they look at pictures of celebrations, he mentions Sam Fisher and comments along the lines of “he was still a Dundee player at the time” then has to backtrack and say “of course, he still is”… certainly came across as if that’s a done deal. Expect that to be announced early June, once his Dundee contract expires.

It is my understanding that all the players who came through our youth system and had played in the first team were offered a new contract. That'd mean that if Fisher signs for somebody else once his current contract expires Dundee would be due a development fee.

I hope that SFC will be seeking compensation from the SPFL for insisting that more Dundee hooligans be allowed to attend the match. What were the police and stewards doing to stop the flares being thrown and damaging the pitch, the mini pitch invasion after they scored a goal and the major pitch invasion at the end? Presumably DFC will be getting fined.

Your salty tears are pathetic. We could have played it without Dundee fans getting tickets and without your lot giving out tickets for free. Why not just limit it to 500 people ( supposing you could find 500 fans) just like the later stages of the pandemic.

  6. Well done. I'd not been in Arbroath for ages until my Daughter moved there two years ago. Surprised and please to see so many young kids with Arbroath tops and kit and not the obvious "Big Teams" merch. Great to see folks supporting their local team.  Relegation would have damaged this progression. Good luck for next season.

Again what’s quite evident when playing Dundee is how subs impact games. Today none of our attack clicked whatsoever yet we had nobody on the bench that could change the game. Longridge is past it, Healy has just came in from arthurlie and Williamson is still finding his way since coming from cambuslang. You could only turn to Henderson to potentially help and he only joined this week.

In every league encounter this season, at least one of Dundee’s substitutes have scored a goal against us. That tells its own story on how crucial squad depth is if you want to win this league. I’d obviously adore to win the league but we’d get absolutely hounded with this squad in the premiership.

"Squad depth is crucial" We had six on the bench, you had nine.

Footballing legend Pele of Brazil has died aged 82, truly a ground breaking talent and influence on the world stage.

Pictured below, tangling with a fellow footballing legend.

    RIP number 10.

This was a game at the Kingdome in Seattle in the late 70s between Seattle Sounders and NY Cosmos. I'll give you a guess who scored the only goal of the game (clue, it wasn't Pele)

  11. Mom for me today was Williamson, he put in  a hell of a shift and played a magnificent ball through for Rudden. Mc Mullan behind the front two excites driving at the opposition but it is fair to say his final ball often leaves a lot to be desired. The central back three were effective with Ashcroft being best of the trio. French was uncomfortable at RWB and really contributed little going forward. Byrne was effective without being flash. Why Kerr gets so much hate from our support is beyond me. He's not the best full back we've ever had but he's far from the worst. Lawlor was surprisingly good, made two great saves and seemed more comfortable coming for crosses than usual and his distribution is good. Sheridan was a shock choice to start but given his performance it wasn't  a shock that he got hooked after 45 mins , honestly get rid, Rudden at least puts himself about. As for Osei Yaw the least said the better. Hamilton can consider themselves unlucky. On another day they may have gone home with a draw. However their style of play and general demeanour isn't generally appealing. Made me laugh to see themcomplain about Lawlor time wasting at the end when their keeper had been doing it almost from the kick off.
