  1. So just chuck 6 weeks of preparing for next season away for a ‘fresh start’ - why would it not be a fresh start if they come in right now?
  2. What’s this taint stuff Nobody coming in now will be expected to keep us up - this season is over and away - the work for next season cannot wait whoever the manager is going to be needs to get started on working towards it ASAP
  3. Agree I think our best chance to gain any consistency or go into next season in a stable position we either need to keep McIntyre and give him a fair chance of it - we obviously thought he was the man when we appointed him so not sure why that’s changed based off of what he’s had to deal with Or we get rid right now and have someone new in who we think is the right man within the next couple of weeks - if we leave it until the end of the season we are at risk of not only losing out on players we have at the club already but potential new signings too as they’ll not know what the script is for next year and will end up elsewhere - finding this right guy to come in as manager with a whole coaching staff seems a lot harder than giving McIntyre a chance at it
  4. Offer Scott Stewart an incredible contract - please
  5. He will do very well at East Fife for a couple of year I’ve no doubt but given his age think his period of losing the plot will come slightly earlier than it did at Arbroath / Forfar
  6. Absolutely right decision - Dick Campbell is brilliant when everything is going well but when things start going wrong he’s toxic, a total gob shite and to be completely honest a total w**k. Obviously things can’t go well forever in football so that’s not just his fault but moving on definitely best thing for Arbroath and himself too
  7. If we are going to get rid Do not wait and do it right away - there is no point in prolonging the process the season is over and if someone new comes in they need to start on next season right now Decision needs made as soon as possible ETA - I actually cannot think of a single potential replacement - an absolutely wild shout would be Davie Gold based off of how well McCabe has done but I feel like that is very far fetched
  8. That’s a team full of players who know we’re down, know that they’re away at the end of the season and have more or less given up now playing against teams who are fighting for everything. Only ones I am confident of being here next season from the players on the park right now are Gold and McIntosh.
  9. I’m not sure how he’d be tainted with this relegation Jose Mourinho wouldn’t have kept us up in these circumstances. Fair enough if you want JM binned - I am not sure it would be the best move. Think very quickly it could end up with just shouting for the managers head as soon as things go wrong, like I said 3 months into next year and it’s looking like a poor move with the new guy if we did make a change then what happens then? Surely he’s already looking at and talking to players for next year - like Pink said before your summer targets are usually lined up 6 months beforehand. If he leaves the players he’d been talking to already don’t come then I dunno how we’d manage to assemble a half decent squad for next season. Loads of guys will have an idea where they’re off to already. If we’re going to be binning him we’d need to have the next guy lined up and that next guy will have needed to start trying putting things in place and putting feelers out there - also whoever that guy may be will have probably went for it the last time and knew they were second choice. I’m not sure who would be a better option than McIntyre either really. Does anyone even have any suggestions?
  10. Wonder how often a manager comes in and then is so short on players he has to stick the sub keeper upfront and goes about 10 weeks with 13-15 players and then the rest of the season with a handful of players in and out the team injured? He’s been dealt the worst hand he possibly could have You’re talking about ripping up the whole thing again and getting a whole new manager and coaching staff in - what happens if we get rid and start with another new manager and then 2 months into next season we’ve got off to a nightmare start in L1 - do we just get rid of them all again and start looking for another manager and coaching staff. You need to give them a proper chance
  11. I think we’ve just got to give McIntyre a pre season and a proper summer window to get his own group of guys together otherwise we’re kind of chucking him without giving him a proper chance at the job He has been chasing his tail and firefighting the whole time he’s been here with a team and squad that would be up against it in this league even if we were strong and never had injuries to deal with Right now there’ll be a lot of players in that dressing room who know they are away and sub consciously think we are down and that’ll have an effect too Absolutely no point switching manager again in the summer for me
  12. I have lost countless number of hours on this site - mates regularly send a mind this into the chats with the ‘on this day’ reports - a brilliant effort from you
  13. Hamilton definitely will and he will be a good player in L2 still and a really good guy to have in the squad - he’s a bit broken after his horrendous injury and probably will do better as a centre half - potentially alongside ToB. I think we will need freshened up at the back McKenna I’m really hoping will stay - Gold will be here and they’re very close so I’m kind of pinning my hopes on that unless he fancies a crack at FT for a year or two like some have suggested I wonder what Dicks plans are if he does sign a fair few of our older core - I imagine he’s probably not thinking too far into the future and just has his sights set on getting out of L2 but at us he signed all these guys when they were in their prime with years and years ahead of them. If he signs them again now it’ll turn into a similar situation we’re facing right now in a couple of years
  14. The way you talk about other people giving their opinions Followed by … And the best bit is you do not and will never see the irony in it - most people think you’re the oddball by the way
  15. Should be trying to build the team and squad around McKenna, Goldie and Scotty Stewart - fingers crossed
  16. Very good and a lot of potential there - also feel sorry for him that he’s been part of a decimated struggling side where he’s not been able to shine
  17. So glad Goldie is signed on for next season and will definitely be here. Hoping his presence encourages the likes of Mikey and Scotty Stewart to do the same.
  18. On Ricky Little - Ricky has been unbelievable for Arbroath - the commitment to the club is up there with anyone who has ever played for us considering the length of time he’s played here and the distances he has had to travel. I have changed my mind on this several times already but I feel like he could maybe end up being a really good player to keep around for another year if he was open to it. He would absolutely be good enough in L1 and could be important to help bed in new players coming to the club with his experience. A great player and quite a unique centre half for the Scottish lower leagues given his size - wish him all the best whatever he chooses to do and glad that the Testimonial Dinner went well This is the background to all of my WhatsApp Chats too… also been my profile pic for sometime on here Good guy great player and good family
  19. I am resigned to relegation and have been for a long time - and I remember other relegations too although it feels like an age - just the other week I was sticking up for the social media etc too I would say that I always try to give the benefit of the doubt - however the death threats stuff on that LinkedIn post made me angrier than I have been about anything AFC wise in a long time Throwing the fans under the bus for the purpose of a shitey social media post is not on. To learn that the same guy had been posting lies on here about someone previously employed by the club added to that as did learning that people have had phonecalls from the club because they’ve been critical of it. It makes it sting even more when we’ve removed someone who had been doing a perfectly good job and had been here for years for this clown who will be picking up a wage - how he’s also doing First Team Analysis for us is frying my brains. The guys clearly a total tube - if that makes me a lunatic then so be it The other stuff - I feel like the Booths are good guys and supporters of the club and want what’s best for the club and I feel the exact same about Gary Callon. He’s been brilliant for Arbroath I absolutely think it’s important to discuss just how everything’s working off the park though especially now there is going to be a massive decline in revenue. It cannot affect the playing budget too much to carry the likes of the above - all I am saying
  20. Absolutely It has angered me more than any other thing that’s happened this season. And if it happened then fine, but then the question must be why were people not aware of it and why did the club not make a massive issue of it. Imagine sending death threats to a manager of a football club online and the football club did or said nothing about it. Makes absolutely zero sense So either someone is lying or the clubs not taken it anywhere near as seriously as they should’ve
  21. I would say that it is a very important issue if the guy in charge of social media and first team analysis () (who has replaced a stalwart, fan and volunteer who was doing a good job) is making things up and posting them on this forum about former club employees. Then getting called out for them by said employee and deleting them because they are indeed bullshit. That’s embarrassing for the club I would also say it’s very important that whoever is in charge of social media isn’t making stuff up for his shitty LinkedIn posts - as has been pointed out a lot of that post was birthday card pish and not true The death threat thing though is an extremely serious thing to put out there - if it’s true it is beyond comprehension that supporters would tweet something like that and it is not on however I’m not so sure it is and think like the rest of the post it was exaggerated nonsense. It paints the fans in such bad light and if you’re in that position you cannot do that I am told that the death threats after the game in Wales were tweets sent that said something along the lines of somebody tweeting that they wanted Dick Campbell to get stabbed and somebody else tweeting that if they’d met Dick Campbell on the street that ‘he’d get it’ - I was told that people high up in the club blocked these people and deleted their tweets… after pointing out that the club account cannot delete other people’s tweets it was said that it was actually Twitter / X that must’ve removed them Now if this is true surely the police would’ve been involved, surely a club statement would’ve been made and surely someone else other than our social media man would’ve seen these tweets - somebody tweeting that they wanted Dick Campbell to get stabbed is extremely serious and absolutely abhorrent - it surely should have been taken very seriously That is a huge issue for me, if this has somehow happened then fine, fair enough that’s disgusting and absolutely needs called out… but if that’s not what happened and that’s been said to exaggerate a social media post which is painting out Arbroath fans to behave in that way then that’s not something someone in that position should be doing That is all I am saying - that is a whole lot more serious than the spitting thing
  22. I’ve never heard anything about any Meadowbank houses on here I must’ve missed that one I mean in regards to the discussion that’s been going on since Saturday These are surely real issues that need seriously looked at going forward no?
  23. Can you point out the ‘flat out conspiracy nonsense’ please?
  24. I cannot remember this. The main complaints were about silly things like there being too much holiday photos or whatever. The actual overall output was very good and it didn’t need to change - the on this day stuff is a separate thing @SimonLichtiedoes through the Arbroath Archive too. If we are paying someone to do a worse job than the person before them, who was a fan and volunteer and mainstay at the club, what is the logic in that? All of this without taking into account that the paid guy is a gobshite who makes stuff up online and is Paul Reid’s pal who has also somehow got another role doing First Team Analysis…
