  1. I would love to see two up front here for QP and really pressure the Thistle defence. I think we're more solid at the back and can maybe gamble a wee bit but it might come down to whether we can stop Graham. 2-1 to Glasgow's top outfit in hoops (that's QP, of course).
  2. The demise of the mentalness of the Darvel thread has thrust you lads into pole position in the race to be the most entertaining thread on P & B. Compelling viewing.
  3. You can see the sharp contrast in us, with Wilson and Welsh making a marked difference. I was surprised to see the BBC stats on possession {53% for Airdrie} as they looked to have more than that. However, we did look a bit more clinical, which is another welcomed change. Thomas was, once again, a joy to watch and I saw a hint of McKinstrey's quality. Results elsewhere, once again, show that it's up to us to win games to get out of this relegation dogfight rather than rely on anyone else. Airdrie looked half decent and I'd expect them to be safe.
  4. Massively important game. They did indeed derail the promotion push last year (aided by ourselves!). Hopefully, we are back to firing on as many cylinders as possible, if we can't manage them all. Change the team from Saturday? Not sure if we should although I'd like to see a bit more support for Paton, who is putting in shift after shift up front.
  5. I like a hard copy match programme. Online sales only - £3.00 plus £2:40 postage. What a snip.
  6. I had what was termed a "gourmet burger" from a van there at great expense, but it was the best thing I've ever eaten at a football game. On that basis, they are not tiny at all.
  7. He's first choice with Annan at the moment. He's getting good competitive minutes, so I'm happy with that.
  8. Is it not the case that the age limit is only for the Old Firm?
  9. Correct! The only ones in tears every week are the Morton fans whining that their "industrial" football is not seen as equivalent to Brazil 1970. They should just be happy that it's producing results rather than slating anyone who criticises it. I would have no problem in us playing like them if we were racking up the points.
  10. Putting myself in the firing line - I used to go to Shawfield sometimes back in the day when QP weren't playing, and was quite shocked at the abuse fired out by the Clyde support to their own players, and that's when you were half decent. Worse still, it was seen as a bit of a laugh. I haven't heard this anywhere else to the same extent. I can't imagine giving some guy on rock bottom wages absolute pelters will help him be a lower league Messi.
  11. Morton are a mob, pure and simple. That's not a criticism, just a fact and good luck to them. If we played that way and it was working, I wouldn't be bothered what anyone said. However, the referees have got to be up to it and yesterday's wasn't. He let too much go. Anyway, a good point and another shut out with the defence doing the business against what is an effective outfit. We were leaking more than an incontinent's knickers six weeks ago and that's three shut outs in a row. We're back.
  12. Apologies for my attempt at humour which has gone a squillion miles over your head.
  13. It is, but it's not particularly big unfortunately. Feel free to fire ahead with all the innuendo.
  14. Davidson will print this off on A3 paper and stick it up in the dressing room to spur the mighty QP on.
  15. Keep out the bunkers and you should be ok.
  16. Despite Morton's hugely impressive form, hopefully they are a bit knackered and I reckon we can tire them out on the magnificent green sward of Fortress Hampden. We looked good last week against a wonderful Pars team and the additional players have made what was a pretty threadbare and inexperienced pool much, much stronger. Silky QP 2, the Greenock Chib Merchants 1.
  17. The last time QP were there, some young Stranraer "lads" were looking for trouble in the car park. One of the women who worked in the wee bar was heading home and told the top boy to get up the road or she'd be onto his mum to tell him what he was up to. He got up the road.
  18. But, if I read this correctly, cash flow is the issue. Having a stack of games at the end of the year will be great for them. But not now.
  19. I'm being serious; how is it you "plan" for surviving on one Saturday home game for months?
  20. and Thomas celebrating that goal before the ball was even struck.
