  1. I posted before I saw the Facebook comment etc. Levein is poison now unfortunately.
  2. I see Jamie Walker wants to leave. Good player who we couldn't really get the most out of. I think he's wasted on the wing, which is where he played most of the time. At his best playing off the striker, although the combination of him and Isma didn't really work. I don't think he's got the pace to play at a higher level and he's not quite skilful enough to make up for it. He also has an unfortunate tendency to disappear when the going gets tough. It's probably the right time to cash in, although I don't really have much faith in the current management finding a decent replacement.
  3. You only beat us by two goals last time. No. It's a specifically popular opinion among Hibs fans for some reason.
  4. They've played 70 and 110 minutes at centre-back respectively, so it's difficult to judge based on their record here. I'd say Avlonitis is probably the better defender based on his CV.
  5. I notice Goncalves will wear number 77, so we've now got a number 77 and a number 88 in the first team. I'm already looking forward to the dreadful hot takes highlighting this as a symptom of us being overrun by "foreign mercenaries" after a drab defeat at Rugby Park or somewhere similar.
  6. I am a bit disappointed that he thinks signing players with pedigree will help us. I was hoping he'd turn Liam Smith and Rory Currie into international superstars instead.
  7. Bambino has been getting some mileage out of this "Oshaniwa was bad therefore international players are bad" patter recently. Fair play.
  8. He captained Greece in a friendly in November and has 62 caps going back to 2006. He also captained PAOK in the Europa League group stages last season when they took 4 points off Borussia Dortmund. He's played in Serie A, the Bundesliga and La Liga. Why wouldn't he be an improvement on a guy who has a handful of friendly caps for a US side which recently lost 4-0 to Costa Rica?
  9. Hamilton Struna Avlonitis Hughes Sowah Djoum Tziolis Martin Goncalves Johnsen Walker Unrecognisable.
  10. Kickback exclusive. http://www.edinburghnews.scotsman.com/sport/football/hearts/hearts-to-sign-greek-internationalist-alexandros-tziolis-1-4351859
  11. Getting this ruffled about a mock-up Daily Record article with fake quotes.
  12. I fully believe that he could be the next Jonathan Toto.
  13. Fairly sure I heard Liam Mcleod remarking on how Andraz Struna, who joined from Greek side Giannina, hadn't "played a single minute" for them this season. Might have something to do with the fact he left them last June, Liam.
  14. Getting a fee for a fairly nondescript player with 6 months left on his contract. Cheers Robbie.
  15. I was responding to the post above yours and my point has nothing to do with whether he'll be a good signing or not because I have no idea. I'm disputing the point that he has a "honking" scoring record, which is now being stated as a "fact". Given his limited number of appearances, no-one could confidently state that he's going to score goals here. However, his minutes per goal in Norway and in the Championship, based on the data we do have, is relatively good. I wouldn't say he has a great scoring record because he hasn't played enough games to say that, but it certainly isn't "honking". It's a bit of a weird thing to focus on for a centre-mid anyway. Djoum doesn't score many goals but he's still one of our best players. FWIW it seems that a lot of Middlesbrough fans rated him but he struggled to nail down a specific position in a 4-4-2. http://www.gazettelive.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/whatever-happened-middlesbrough-fc-midfield-11084735
  16. As I said before, his number of appearances is a concern and it seems as though he's had at least a couple of long-term injuries in the past. 3.5 years seems unnecessarily risky on the face of it. That said, he has been injury free since 2014. I fail to see how his scoring record is poor, though. Not giving you that one. It was one in four in Norway, which is surely above average for a central midfielder. At Middlesbrough he averaged a goal every 126 minutes of football. Not a "fact" at all, then.
  17. You claimed he had a "honking scoring record" for a midfielder despite the fact he was joint 6th top scorer in the Norwegian league last season. 8 goals in a 30 game season is equivalent to 10 or 11 goals in a 38 game season which, if replicated here, would have made him the highest scoring midfielder in the Scottish Premiership last season. He had 14 goals or assists in 29 games last season, basically a goal or assist every other game. Not exactly "honking" is it? It was only a few months ago you were crying about us not signing Andy Shinnie, an attacking midfielder who managed a total of 4 goals in 3 seasons in the Championship (and has since managed 1 goal in the Scottish Championship). Martin managed 3 goals in a season when he didn't even start a game for Middlesbrough. Not to mention that you also made a c**t of it when you were talking about his playing record, thinking his 2015 totals for two different clubs were actually from different seasons. So yes, I think it's fair to say you were talking pish.
  18. Nigeria has a special history of capping weird players, though. He also barely played for for a relegated Israeli team the year before he came to us (the same one Celtic signed Efe Ambrose from). There was plenty to suggest he wasn't much good.
  19. He scored 8 and assisted 6 in 29 games last season. Basically a goal or assist every other game. http://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/malaury-martin/leistungsdaten/spieler/40875/plus/0?saison=2015 The length of deal does seem risky as f**k though, given his history.
  20. What if he wants to return to Scotland but is also interested in money?
