Davidson eating a rowie and claiming it's a big job but he's up to the task. Mark my words.
Not happening.
Too soon
However it might be another Saints manager

Might join up with his old Boss again? Callum Davidson must be in with a shout .
Far too soon
I think Callum is destined for much higher place in England after 3 or 4 season at Saints

A hard watch for much of the game and the second half about as pushed back as we've been by anyone this season. It is fair to acknowledge it was the third game in six days and injuries limited the manager's ability to rotate things.
Needed the result and we got it but will need to play better next week.
Definitely worth given a mention to Liam Craig who has has a huge week. Exactly the type of guy that's the reason we've had such a prolonged period of success.
We will not need to play better next week!@

I fear it may be too late. Should have been done earlier.
I don't think its that simple for teams like Saints unless top 6 is achieved
Jackie McNamara in an interview last night on a View from The Terrace said at Dundee Utd the earlier top 6 was achieved the quicker they could get down to resigning players and looking at future players
If they were in bottom 6 then not much could be done until they were safe
I don't see much difference at St.johnstone to be honest and I see Callum Davidson saying similar somewhere in lead up to today's game in that 3 points today goes a long way when it comes to talks about getting Guy and Kane signed up
Also interested to see he said 5 players being identified but no names
So unless we are top 6 every season I think that's something we have to except

All three of those trophies were won in the manager’s first season in charge, which throws up the difficult but necessary question...
should we sack Callum and bring in a new manager now, or wait until May in order to guarantee the title next season?!
All 7 years apart

I fancy Tommy to start his magic and beat Utd
2.1 Killie

I would like to see more signing up for next season. I assume we are all in agreement that it’s unlikely Ali will be with us next season?
I'm not completely in agreement with that
He is under contract till 2023 so unless big bid comes in summer he probably will be with Saints

I think your points totals ignore the post split games, another 15 points up for grabs and strange things can happen during the split.
Yes well spotted i hadn't factored that in and totals are to split
I had in my head we would be top six and didn't include it
I will edit to plus 15 points each

The teams round the bottom 6 or 7 play each other and will cut each others throats but if my sums are correct the maximum points a team can get are
St.Mirren 53 Motherwell 46 Dundee Utd 46
St.johnstone 45
Hamilton 41
Kilmarnock 39
Ross County 38
...Kilmarnock play Rangers Aberdeen Dundee Utd Ross County and Motherwell again in the run up to the split and look to have a job to be above 10th
But St.Mirren who have the most points just now play Rangers Aberdeen Livingston Hamilton 2 and Ross County
If they take some points from this run they are surely safe
Dundee Utd have Rangers and Celtic in there run in so that could impact on there points total
Its a minefield though with x playing x and anything can happen
For me looking at the games to play Kilmarnock and Ross County are PROBABLY favourites for bottom 2 in my reckoning
My own team St.johnstone barring a slump should Finnish between 6th and 9th if we can take 2 or 3 points from Celtic we will be on target for 44 or 45 points even if we lose its 42
The target for safety 39 which is the most Kilmarnock can achieve 38 avoids automatic relegation

Watching games on PPV on your own with zero atmosphere doesn't even come close to
Getting up in the morning, heading to the pub to meet mates
On the bus if its an away game
Pub in the town and journey from pub to ground
In the ground,@programme,meet up with more mates
The joy if a goal for
The anguish of a goal against
The feeling of excitement with minutes to go
Back to the pub to celebrate or drown sorrows with mates
And home
Wake up all happy if you win and crabby b*****d if you lose
And repeat.
A wee square box doesn't even touch the sides of those emotions
Anyone that says different is a liar

Why should season ticket sales reduce? What’s needed is a real sales push so people are encouraged to buy. Maybe even something like a six match ticket. Even target those who support Saints but have never been at a match to buy one as a donation.
There must be many ways to increase income we could try.Maybe meant because its unlikely full crowds until September at least

With the best will in the world, we probably can't afford to release all the players that we currently have. @Radford has made this argument to me a few times regarding Kane, but where do we get a replacement for him that will be as effective as he is and probably as cheap? I think his all round game has improved a lot this season, Macca being back has positively influenced him IMO.
May wont get the same offer from us again I wouldn't have thought. He has a place in this squad but has to accept it's not as the star man.
I think the only players I'd definitely release at this stage are Parish, Bryson and O'Halloran. Brown and Middleton will return to their parent clubs and you'd suspect the likes of Davidson, Craig, Booth etc will be retained as good, experienced pros for our level. Melamed, Tanser and Gilmour are probably the 3 wild cards.
I really hope we're not looking at having to replace 10 or 11 squad players next season, bearing in mind the likes of Kerr and McCann could end up away at any point if someone makes an offer.
Bryson was excellent last night! Why would he not get another year?

Aye.
I think Melamed will be away this Summer either way, but he's got the strongest claim on a new deal.
May has history on his side but isn't performing, while Kane is the opposite. May only stays if he takes a hefty wage cut IMO, while Kane needs to be consistent until the end of the season, doesn't deserve a new deal based on 3 good months IMO, however harsh that is.
Why?What makes you think that?
For the record I disagree and think he will be offered 2 year deal
Realistically where is he going to go
He is not going to work this hard to get into a team to start all over again in my opinion

Longer Livingston keep winning, more likely it is they're due a loss by the time the Final comes around. My logic is flawless.
Second half v Killie a monster one due to tonight. Gone from 3 behind them, and them having a game in hand, to above them by 3pts and having a better goal difference.
Shoosht!Wait till post Ibrox please

Rolling the dice in terms of squad depth again, but covid/no guaranteed income etc. etc.
If Gilmour is good then that's a step forward, but really we'll go into this Summers window with no improvements to our squad since last Summer.
Hope they've already started making moves for next season, as there's a few clubs (Aberdeen/United/Motherwell) who'll be looking to have rebuilds and after similar players.
Your such a bed wetter

Apparently Luke McCowan might leave Ayr in the next 2 days as hes refusing to sign a new deal, and a clubs made a cash offer, so its take money/sell on clause now or lose him for nothing in the Summer.
I'll be seething if he ends up elsewhere in this division.
I can't see us buying anyone
Happy if I'm wrong

We've signed a Millwall loanee, a kid who couldn't get a game for Hibs, and are apparently close to signing someone who couldn't earn a permanent deal with a mid-table second tier Dutch side.
I'd be astounded if we could find a better striker than May/Kane/Melamed/Hendry in this window.
All that means he haw!
Unless you can xg me wrong

That was astonishingly bad.
Season tickets going to be flying off the shelves next season.
we might get to double figures for open play goals at home this season....?
I have my doubts if we will have a season where we are able to sell season tickets
This virus is going to continue into the summer and obviously depending how it works with the vaccination roll out
But I think the best we can expect is a Ltd number of fans being allowed into games well into next season and certainly not full capacity
So would it be worth selling season tickets
I hope I'm wrong and things are back to normal by then,I just can't see it.

Predict the 20-21 final table
in Scottish Premiership General Chatter
Posted · Edited by THE FAT MAN
My predictions for 20/21 season in mug form(Done on Facebook at start of season edit to say its a mug collection I put in order but no idea how to post pictures here)
1 Celtic *Will win the league by some distance
2*Rangers .Will be a lot closer, but not close enough and this will seal Gerards fate before season ends
3 Hibs*Good manager and good signings will run Rangers close
4 Aberdeen *I just think it's the end for Del and co,won't survive the season as 4th will not be good enough for the dandies.
5 St. Johnstone* Slighty bias opinion but so...its my team and my predictions
Saints will be fine and to be honest you could put a piece of paper between us and teams below.
6 Motherwell*Decent manager, will be fine season and see above .
7Kilmarnock *Rookie manager, should be anywhere between 5th and 9th definitely never in any danger of relegation spots
8th St.Mirren*Have recruited well and if they maintain last season's home record will be competing with above teams and again that fine line between 5th and 10th
9th Dundee Utd *Think they will be fine, just!Big season for Shankland,if he stays and manages the step up again, and Scores the goals. If he doesn't or gets transferred they could be in trouble.
10th Ross County *I just have a gut feeling it will be a tough season for the Staggies.
11th Hamilton Accies*Established fighters, this could just be the season where it may go against them.Having said that I wouldn't bet against them in a play off place
12th Livingston *No mug..ah but they will be.Time to run out for this plastic franchise
Please don't be offended by those predictions as I see it , they are only predictions by me and what do I know ?
