  1. Edinburgh City 1-3 Ross County. Comfortable win for County at worst ground in league. City’s goal was a decent strike but they rarely troubled County. Not a huge crowd (400 odd) but queues to get in. Stood behind goal and you were miles from action. Just not fit for league football. No programme either which was disappointing.
  2. Quite like Salford’s top. Stick Dons badge and two stars on that and would look better than what we have.
  3. I agree that view from Y is probably best in ground and as you say most that go in there do so as they are not pushed to sit down. Can’t see me or many of the others who go there rushing to change to a seat undercover.
  4. Premier league tie at Ibrox with my Rangers (deceased) supporting Dad and uncle. I spent game cheering for team in red which almost got them lynched. Just remember the noise of the crowd, how many people that were there and the glare of the lights. That was me hooked. Thankfully the experience scarred my Dad and uncle for life and they never tried to take me back to Ibrox.
  5. 4 page one free on entry at Edinburgh Uni today.
  6. Edinburgh Uni 3-4 Civil Service Strollers. Much closer game than I was expecting and the Students can consider themselves unlucky not to have got at least a draw. Really enjoyable day out despite the rain. Unlike Le Tout I went with carrot cake option which was brilliant as always.
  7. Manchester United 1-0 Olympic Lyon Pretty drab preseason fair. Manchester United looked bit more interested than Lyon who didn’t have a shot on target that I can remember. Crowd 48,484 in attendance. Glad my ticket was free.
  8. Preston Athletic 0-2 Darvel. Decent game for a friendly and played with a surprisingly competitive edge by both teams. Darvel were the better team and deserved their win although penalty in first half looked very soft. Thankfully rain stayed off until after full time.
  9. Bit surprised to see us being linked with another right sided centre half given we already have 3 right footed centre backs at the club.
  10. In red and white would have liked that. Smart top for Spain but not for Dons.
  11. Spartans 3-0 Brora Rangers. Pretty even in first 40 minutes but once Spartans scored from a stonewall penalty there was only going to be one winner. Second half was a procession. Pre season tradition of getting soaked continued as fairly chucked it down for most of second half.
  12. Don’t think we want Duk having defensive duties. It was part of game he struggled with last season. I would think we will stick with 2 up top in vast majority of games.
  13. Bathgate Thistle 2-0 Armadale AFC Deserved win for Bathgate who were the better team through out and forced several good saves from Armadale keeper. Thankfully there is a large covered terrace at Creamery Park as rain was torrential for most of the evening.
  14. Spartans 8-0 Tynecastle. Stroll in the summer drizzle for Spartans in a really one sided game. If not for excellent saves by Tynecastle keeper could have been double figures. Game had added bonus of bounce match between Musselburgh Athletic and Edinburgh South to watch on the back pitch.
  15. Think I walked passed you as you took the second picture.
  16. Penicuik Ath 1-1 Drumchapel Utd. Pretty standard preseason game this one with both teams showing signs of rust. Drumchapel will probably feel they did enough to win this but failure to convert chances in the first half and fine finish from Penicuik’s no. 22 meant they had to settle for the draw.
  17. Tonight’s programme from Civil Service Strollers v Falkirk friendly.
  18. Civil Service Strollers 1-2 Falkirk. Managed to go a whole 7 days before cracking and heading along to this. Decent crowd and it stayed dry. Civil possibly better team in first half and took goal well. Both sides made a number of changes which seemed to benefit Falkirk more but they struggled to convert possession in to goals until last 5 minutes when they managed to win the game with two late goals.
  19. 4 year deal is brilliant bit of business. Fully expect him to be sold on before that is up for a huge profit.
  20. At recent Q&A session Burrows mentioned we nipped in ahead of Hibs for Pollock so not completely away from signing up whoever Hibs are interested in.
  21. Another who was at Meggetland today. Bo’ness Athletic deserved winners scoring some really good goals. If they can keep majority of this team together I would expect them to go up again next season. Dunipace will look to penalty that was saved in first half but really don’t think that would have changed the outcome if they had score. Last random game of the season for me. Just Scotland v Georgia to go.
  22. There was mention of a “glamour “ home friendly on 22nd of July at one of the Q&A sessions last week.
  23. Another who was at Craigroyston v Thornton Hibs. Red cards at the end were odd given game meant little to Thornton. Not sure why they were so upset about what looked a clear foul.
  24. Bonnyrigg Rose 3-0 Elgin City. Bonnyrigg securing their league status on final day and condemning Albion Rovers to play offs. Elgin had secure their own league safety last week but didn’t lie down to the Rose and made them work for this. Over 2,000 in attendance.
