The Famous Aberdeen - Season 2022/23

In red and white would have liked that. Smart top for Spain but not for Dons. -
Spartans 3-0 Brora Rangers. Pretty even in first 40 minutes but once Spartans scored from a stonewall penalty there was only going to be one winner. Second half was a procession. Pre season tradition of getting soaked continued as fairly chucked it down for most of second half.

Don’t think we want Duk having defensive duties. It was part of game he struggled with last season. I would think we will stick with 2 up top in vast majority of games. -
Bathgate Thistle 2-0 Armadale AFC Deserved win for Bathgate who were the better team through out and forced several good saves from Armadale keeper. Thankfully there is a large covered terrace at Creamery Park as rain was torrential for most of the evening.

Spartans 8-0 Tynecastle. Stroll in the summer drizzle for Spartans in a really one sided game. If not for excellent saves by Tynecastle keeper could have been double figures. Game had added bonus of bounce match between Musselburgh Athletic and Edinburgh South to watch on the back pitch.

Think I walked passed you as you took the second picture.

Penicuik Ath 1-1 Drumchapel Utd. Pretty standard preseason game this one with both teams showing signs of rust. Drumchapel will probably feel they did enough to win this but failure to convert chances in the first half and fine finish from Penicuik’s no. 22 meant they had to settle for the draw.

Civil Service Strollers 1-2 Falkirk. Managed to go a whole 7 days before cracking and heading along to this. Decent crowd and it stayed dry. Civil possibly better team in first half and took goal well. Both sides made a number of changes which seemed to benefit Falkirk more but they struggled to convert possession in to goals until last 5 minutes when they managed to win the game with two late goals.

4 year deal is brilliant bit of business. Fully expect him to be sold on before that is up for a huge profit. -

At recent Q&A session Burrows mentioned we nipped in ahead of Hibs for Pollock so not completely away from signing up whoever Hibs are interested in. -
Another who was at Meggetland today. Bo’ness Athletic deserved winners scoring some really good goals. If they can keep majority of this team together I would expect them to go up again next season. Dunipace will look to penalty that was saved in first half but really don’t think that would have changed the outcome if they had score. Last random game of the season for me. Just Scotland v Georgia to go.

There was mention of a “glamour “ home friendly on 22nd of July at one of the Q&A sessions last week. -
Another who was at Craigroyston v Thornton Hibs. Red cards at the end were odd given game meant little to Thornton. Not sure why they were so upset about what looked a clear foul.
-
Bonnyrigg Rose 3-0 Elgin City. Bonnyrigg securing their league status on final day and condemning Albion Rovers to play offs. Elgin had secure their own league safety last week but didn’t lie down to the Rose and made them work for this. Over 2,000 in attendance.

I am still a bit nervous about the appointment but the results since Robson has been in charge meant board had to offer him the gig. Agnew being involved does make me a bit happier though. -
Hadn’t seen that will take a look cheers.

Steph Curry on fire tonight. 50 point game as Warriors look like going 4-3 against the Kings. Lakers up. next.

I can see why the Brechin keeper was not sent off for denying a goal scoring opportunity as he was not the last man but the challenge itself was reckless and could easily been a red card offence.
-
Spartans 1-0 Brechin City. Spartans probably deserved their 1-0 win as despite being down to 10 they were probably slightly better team. Felt red card was the right decision but that ref was wrong not to send off the Brechin keeper in second half when he wiped out Spartans player outside box with a wild challenge. Brechin fans round me were shouting for foul on the keeper for the Spartans winner but looked like Blair Henderson got there first to me.

Never managed to get one today. Sold out long before I got in.

Got Sauchie’s first.
