treating your list seriously for a moment because in a vacuum of info, wth, Coleman would be interesting but lacks european experience really. Gus is, I'm sure great, deserving of a proper crack of the whip and I'd be fine with it. but again, limited actual success/experience managing in europe. RDM other than winning the champions league and that one decent season at chelsea what's he done? no seriously I don't know. Wenger. we can't afford him surely? but ticks every other box, he'd want money to spend though. Cotterill. no thanks. Clark. got to interview someone scottish to keep chic young and his fellow MSM happy I suppose.

really not enjoying this vacuum of credible information

I can confirm that it is no one on that list.

Prepare to be shocked, amazed and astounded !

shocked, amazed, astounded sure. but will we be pleased?

I'd be shocked for example if they gave it to anyone on that list. but I'd be livid.

'substantial record' rules out anyone on that list really.

experienced (European experience?) rules out the rest.

    interviews in killie?

No Craig, I'm sorry but Sir William of Stewarton has his eye on experience.......

Kilmarnock want a "highly-experienced" manager to replace Steve Clarke and will draw up a shortlist by the end of the week, says owner Billy Bowie.

The Rugby Park board will convene on Thursday to sift through the candidates and set up two days of interviews.

Clarke left the Scottish Premiership club last week for the Scotland job.

Bowie said Clarke will be "a very hard act to follow" but that he has been "very encouraged" by the calibre of those applying.

However, he added that the candidates who have already made themselves known are of "a very good level" and are "from all over".

Alex Dyer will stay on as assistant manager role, while also helping Clarke with Scotland.

they need a uefa pro license for a start, given there's a euro campaign start in just over a month or so.  I hope 'highly-experienced' means of europe competition, so to rule out some of the terrible choices on low odds.

Rudi Garcia left Marsielle on the 22nd, he resigned so no comp one assumes, so looking for a gig and has experience. and bonus he's not one of the many mediocre choices the beeb would have foisted on us. I'm sure Billy will choose wisely.

  4. none of these names would be acceptable. being touted by the beeb or sportscene or off the ball or basically any scottish MSM is immediately disqualifying. Might entertain Alex D on purely sentimental grounds but he's off to help SC.

someone with proven European experience surely.   Competence not cheapness should be Billy's watch words.  He has something after the end of the season.  But he can lose it if he appoints someone utterly uninspiring.  Does the manager have to be scottish/british? I see Rudi Garcia is now available on a free -as credible if not more than the names on that list.

  5. Maybe theyre trying to let you down gently.

then its like a plaster. a simple swift, no thanks, no harm or foul, fair enough here's my expense claim thanks for the experience. but its this 'we'll call you later' and then not, that's pissed me right off.

not least because criticism regardless of painfulness is useful to the reflective practitioner.

  6. See when you drive a round trip of 1010 miles to an interview (yes I'm submitting an expenses claim and yes there was an overnight stay involved) which starts at 8am and last most of the day, and then drive back home with the promise that they will 'phone you to let you know either way that evening'

    and then the don't?

    that'd be annoying enough yes?

you know, *that* I'm almost willing to accept. these things happen I was still driving till 1.20 am -I had oil issues which I had to improv solve en route but that's another story.

You know what my not quite P TTGOMN?

I *called* them this afternoon, 'oh, right yes, X will get back to you later tonight. he's in a meeting till 9pm'

    ,,,,,its 1.15 am now.

Now if I didn't get it, I'm submitting a fucking massive expense claim -fully receipted- and it was good experience of an english teaching interview -involving a demo lesson- and all of that tick, that's ok. I mean I'd like to get it -well at the moment I'll sleep on it. It's the utter contemptuous lack of thought/regard I'm being held in here, either phone me like you said -twice now- you said you would or don't. But don't say you will then don't!

  7. I don't think they were by luck rather than design, but they weren't terribly expansive story arcs (by comparison) either. A few intra-series clues, a big battle then a big reset button. End.

You're seriously telling me that you don't think that mid-season finale had enough "emotional impact"? You really are a fucking automaton.

you're right. I'll rail in my hatred of the man to say there was at least some forethought. but come on, if we compare the work- the mid season finale was the pay off of a plot device that Moffat laid whilst he was in RTD employ in the tour de force episode of tennant's reign 'the library'. 2 if not 3 years ago!

    that guy, layers his work.

    RTD didn't have layers.

  8. I picked up on Melody Pond = River Song straight away, but it never crossed my mind that the baby could be a ganger.

If River is a Time Lord, then Moffat has been exceptionally clever in closing potential plot holes. Think back to Forest of the Dead: River told 10 not to wire himself into CAL because he would die and not regenerate...thus, neither would she.

In that same episode, he also said she whispered his name in his ear, and that there was only one time he would ever tell someone his name. I'm not sure how that fits in, because "you're the daughter of a companion so I need to tell you my name" doesn't really fit.

having the daughter of your best friends as your wife though could be a tad uncomfortable though given to rory and amy she's like hours old.......hence he did make a quick exit....

  9. That could have been 48 minutes of pish but any show that ends on LET'S KILL HITLER is an epic win.

The final reveal was a bit meh, it had been rather obviously signposted in the scene set in the prison earlier in the episode when for the first time River reacts differently to Rory than she has before for what appears to be no other reason than it'll be relevant 44 minutes later.

The Cyberships looked suspicously "The Invasion"esque and did the BBC really just do a lesbian tongue gag at 7:15pm on a saturday night?

:D oh yes they did, well spotted. I didn't bring it up as I was sitting with a couple of families at the time. but inside I laughed. not only that but an interspecies/bestiality one at that.

  10. But a few seasons ago did the Doctor not say if someone saw themselves in a different time then the universe would tear in an implosion or something. And River saw herself?

    she didn't.

she saw a flesh version of herself, and he didn't say that. the only time a thing like that's been mentioned as when 5 met 10 in the comic relief thing and then all it did was age them both a bit and that was an excuse for davidson being a bit fatter and thinner in hair...

I can assure you that this doesn't happen.

  11. She did reassure him she didn't pluck the sonic from his cold dead hand...

Gotta wonder if Moffit had the whole River Song / Melody Pond story in his head since he introduced her back with Tennant.

I suspect he did. the moff unlike RTD has an actual series bible and plans his plots.

I got the impression at times that RTD was a bit too 'baddy of the the week' and more through luck than judgement managed to reach a big ending.

  12. The Doctor did confirm Amy was flesh before The impossible astronaut.

And they believed she got up the duff on her honeymoon, which was right after the final esposide last year.

Keeping in mind it's only a mid season break, so we might find out a lot more details.

Still more to know about the silence, and also the "Tardis" someone attempted to build above Craigs flat.

And of course that Skelton hand holding the Sonic at the end of the credits.

that can't be the doctor or river -clearly trying to make us think that- since river has the sonic in 'the library'

  13. Because it wasn't really alive. The explanation I read was that it was just a ganger like the one which melted earlier in the episode, it was still being controlled and hadn't, for the lack of a better word, evolved as the others did.

    I see.

  14. ok before I tweet the moff and look an utter tit, perhaps we can resolve this ourselves;

at a soiree this evening which featured watching this episode a great point was raised.

firstly can we agree the flesh became human in the tardis?

secondly flesh amy has been in the tardis for a longish time?

therefore, why did flesh amy not become human?

  15. Episode 7 entitled as: BIG BIG BIG BIG BIG BIG SPOILER

Let's Kill Hitler. in the credits after the big reveal of

River song being Amy Pond's Daughter

I so hope this is right. I could quite seriously clean up if so.

  16. @Steven_Moffat on twitter

    Eh??

well were you asking 'will we find out tomorrow' or where you asking something else e.g. 'what will we find out' fairly obvious I thought. he's a simple guy with simple tastes and brilliant writing skill is the moff

  17. I have watched pretty much every match Nadal has played at Roland Garros (including a handful of them while sitting court side) so I'm well aware of his record here. I'm also the first to say when I think Murray is going to lose, even bizarrely being accused of having an agenda against him. I often stake £20,000+ on Nadal winning matches on clay and also had well over £9,000 on Murray losing to Djokovic in the Australian Open Final. However, I always remain open minded and say things how I see them. You can't have prejudiced views on what is going to happen without considering all the factors.

    that's just weird.

  18. Far more knowledgable than you, and anyone else on this thread, thats for sure.

This happens evey time we have an occasion like this, the 4 times a year mob givin it large.

in broad terms? probably. however it is 0-2 (1-2) with 3 being the winning line, if he wins this its the result/performance of his life, so I don't think I said anything ridiculous.
