Aye, ok.  I was surprised at the time when he wasn't booked, but I probably shouldn't have been.

I'm actually a bit more gutted by today than I thought I'd be.

    You?

Well, the internet connection worked fine today, so happy with that

Im definitely more gutted than I thought I'd be. I think thats because we came so close to taking it to the last game. Had Dunfermline won, or we'd played out a dull 0-0, which looked like happening, I dont think I would have been as bothered

I actually quite like how we're deflecting from the disappointment with an utterly pointless argument about a meaningless incident.

What I'm talking about is what you mean by denying the opposition possession.  Surely if it gets given, no foul ever achieves that.

    Me too :)

Clearly its possession before free kick. Same as a "promising attack". Not every foul on the edge of the box is a booking for deny a promising attack but a free kick on the edge of the box is a promising chance to score.

Had their been an Ayr player behind Gibson who the ball would have went to had he not caught it, then that would have denied the opposition possession.

Flash has given some more detail on the rule, so the idea of just possession isnt as relevant as denying a promising attack.

Again, either way, it wasnt a booking no matter how many Ayr players, coaches or fans claim otherwise

It was a deliberate handball. Whether he thought the ball was going out or not. Petty as it may seem he still did it and should’ve been booked for it.

He doesn’t strike me as the smartest individual given his actions in previous Ayr-QOS games where he’s acted like a complete fud but just grabbing the ball in mid air for no reason takes the cake.

No, no he shouldn't. See above

So if he'd beaten it down with his hands and then passed it to someone, rather than caught the bloody thing, would that have been denying the opposition possession?

I have literally no idea what you're talking about.

Surely, by definition, every single foul ever, has failed to deny the opposition possession, given that they get awarded possession?

Are you suggest that you can only get booked for deliberate handball if the opposition were in danger of scoring?

No, that's not what I'm saying. You've literally just seen an example today where a handball didn't deny the opposition possession

    No it’s not.

    Do enlighten us then.

No, but it suggests any such misjudgement would need to be chronic, and is therefore less likely.

I just think it was one of those irrational moments of madness you occasionally see.

    Maybe.

Either way, he didn't deny the opposition possession or attempt to stop a goal, so it's not a yellow card.

Thank Christ this is over ... we all knew this team was Friar Tucked, at least the false hope is gone now.  On to next season.

Hope Arbroath win the league and get it right up the SPFL establishment.

Its not over. Three wins and Partick beating Dunfermline then Ayr would be enough to finish 8th, unbelievably. ETA - depending on whether it goes to goals scored or GD

Its not going to happen but its not mathematically done yet

I was going to say this is bad for our goal difference.

Who am I kidding?  As if that matters.

And Dunfermline go ahead. It's actually a relief.

Well, it wont matter, no. Technically, it could if the above happens. Three 1-0 wins for us and three 1-0 defeats for Dunfermline and Ayr would see us have a 1 goal better GD. Im not sure if its goals scored before GD though.

All of which will become completely academic when we lose on Tuesday, for course

ETA - messed that up a bit, as Dunfermline and Ayr only have two games left! Three wins might still be enough but we'd need to win by more than one or hope Partick put a couple past Dunfermline/Ayr

I half-agree with you Cammy if that makes sense.

We scored, and after that sat back and waited for counters that never really came.

But - in the manager's defence - the goals we conceded where down to shambolic defending, the very thing that plagues us last season.

That's the players fault. They're either not good enough, or not IN IT enough. Which is it?

You only scored thanks to Broadfoot heading the ball back into the box.

Really don’t see the need to change the team from last week, that 11 did well and are capable of winning the game, not sure anyone on the bench has done enough to stake a claim.

also don’t think QOTS are going to pushovers, this is their last shot at staying up.

It isn't really. No one expects us to get enough wins to stay up but with a game in hand and Ayr and Dunfermline in the last two games we don't need to win tomorrow to still have a chance.

If killie hold to their lead tonight, Arbroath need the points in this one even less so should really do the decent thing and let Queens win.

ETA- I take it back,Arbroath can have the 3 points as long as you go on and win the league. Deal?

We don't have an eChat General Nonsense, do we? Don't know where else to share this, but I feel the need.

A while ago, I upgraded my NAS box with a couple of 4TB hard drives (I'd claim that's not related to the post above, but nobody's believing that), and was surprised to realise that I'd maxed it out a few days ago. I've since managed to free up 500GB purely by Zipping directories full of small files with zero compression due to the stupidly large cluster size the NAS box uses. Here's the properties for my folder of entirely-legal ZX Spectrum games.

(you're looking at the discrepancy between 'Size' and 'Size on disk', by the way)

Exactly how many spectrum games do you have?

Go and check your time. I don't think you're far in. I was the exact same tbh. I'm enjoying it just now without it blowing me away.

Im barely an hour or so in.

Yeah, think that's a decent point.  I played it for something like 40-50 hours, and I enjoyed it, but wouldn't say I fell for it in the same way as I have for stuff like Skyrim, Witcher, or Death Stranding.  It was good, but I've no real interest in going back to it now I've finished it.

Thats pretty much where I am with it. Its enjoyable enough but I dont feel any real pull to play it like I have with other games

Aye there's nothing blowing me away with it just now but I am enjoying it which in all honesty (given the lack of time I get to play games now) is all I really care about. I'll see how far I go before getting bored/completely hooked.

I've got as far as the bit where you get your eyes upgraded. Little bored of it already if I'm honest.

It looks amazing and its not bad, just isn't really gripping me
