  1. Given the choice, I'd prefer to win both but that isn't happening. No matter if we win lose or draw, we will still be told that we raised our game. Abergreen etc Zzzzz.
  2. I'm glad I fixed my rates last month but I might get hit if it goes down in April/May with the next change. Not so bad in the summer months.
  3. Cheers for pointing out my mistake. Dropping that had completely passed me by and I thought I kept up to date with that sort of shit. Obviously not.
  4. Next you'll be moaning about the NI reduction not really being 2% because of the 1.25% NHS levy brought in previously. And with good reason. Folk have short memories so will only see the 2%. Smoke and mirrors.
  5. Freezing duty on all alcohol. You'll be voting Tory next year?
  6. Interesting opinion why it's NI and income tax he's possibly changing. Unusual that it does not affect pensioners at all since they are usually the target audience since they vote. And often vote Tory.
  7. I'm accidentally proving my own point because I had no idea the thresholds were so different between England and Scotland but I did know the tax rate. Edit: I can see this getting bogged down in a Scotland v England tax debate ignoring any stuff that is announced today.
  8. I'm actually talking about the threshold (top of band) when the 40% (or 42% in Scotland) kicks in. I'm not sure most folk understand how not changing the threshold has slowly dragged more and more people into that band. A cut in the rate always gets more of a headline. England. Scotland. Saying that, I don't think enough people understand tax, inflation or even percentages.
  9. What bribes can Jeremy c**t conjure up in a futile attempt to improve their electoral hopes for next year? Inheritance tax is the one that's been widely touted but I can't see that being a massive vote winner despite The Telegraph and The Express banging on about the 'death' tax being the most hated. National Insurance is also being rumoured to change. Doing something about the tax thresholds that have been frozen and dragged more and more people into the higher tax bands might make some people better off but it's not a sexy policy because most folk don't understand how it affects them. Changing the rates is easier to understand but they seem to be more likely to fiddle with national insurance. Most importantly, will it affect the way you intend to vote next year? Daft question for most on here.
  10. Came on to say this. I can take politicians lying about about most things but lying about what team you support is beyond the pale. Partick Thistle fan, my arse.
  11. SO how much money have we wasted on this unlawful and unworkable scheme? Including legal fees.
  12. Rishi trumpeting this as a great achievement despite it being the easiest of his targets to meet, having very little to do with anyting his government have done and still being almost 2 1/2 times the official BoE target of 2%. Yay Rishi. What a guy.
  13. There was one but it dropped off the first page due to lack of interest. Even though I have a good few gripes about the SNP and their incompetence, they are nowhere near as bad as the Tory government.
