  1. Green Street. Only other film I've seen in the hoolie-flick sub-genre is the awful Football Factory and this easily eclipsed it without ever reaching any great heights of film-making. Compared to the FF, Green Street had better acting and is superior in terms of depth of plot and action scenes. It also made less attempt to glamourise the unsavoury practise of football hooliganism. That said it was awfully predictable, the premise behind it is not entirely believable either. 6/10
  2. Just ran out of fags It's only a five minute walk to an all night garage but it's raining heavily
  3. I bet on a 2-1 win with Miller to score first as well, I was initially just going to put my tenner on the 2-1 win at 8/1 but got greedy when I saw the 22/1 odds on the former. Mc,Cormack really should have passed to Miller for the opener, selfish sod that he is.
  4. Was down at the Scotland game tonight and boarded the last train back to Perth finding it packed with other Scotland fans. Unfortunately what had been a jovial atmosphere soon dissapeared and the trip was soon awash with drunken neddy brawling between fellow fans resulting in a half-hour delay as the police were called and the perpetrators ejected at Larbert. Hope those wee scumbags are never inclined to travel abroad or the Tartan Army reputation would take a hit
  5. The Perfect Hideout, No long finished watching this and it's probably one of the worst films I've ever seen that doesn't have Dolph Lundgren in it. It's supposed to be set in Germany but all the actors had American or English accents, the characters were completely unconvincing, and the story was embarassingly cliche-ridden. The premise of the film involves two fugitives who break into a house and take the occupant hostage only to find he's a deranged murderer. I thought this was an interesting idea which makes the fact that it was ruined by appaling acting, banal dialogue and the failure to produce any meaningful ideas beyond the original premise all the more dissapointing. A disgruntled 2/10
  6. Excellent choice. My TV remote stopped working and I was stuck on VH1 Classic and as such I'm desperately trying to get Woman in Love by Barbara Streisand out of my head by listening to some decent tunes, currently it's Hanging on a Rope by Rocket from the Crypt
  7. Enjoy, they are a quite phenomonal band, could have had so many more great years if inter-band warring hadn't set in. I'm currently listening to Desensitised by Green Day
  8. Great song, brings back happy teenage memories. Currently listening to Saves The Day's second album Stay What You Are, a wonderfull contradiction of catchy poppy songs usually involving death and depression
  9. It was indeed, and it was a furiously frustratung 3-0 defeat, I probably would rather have lost to Caley than them.
  10. Fair enough mate, you'll know more about both clubs than I do. I've seen a lot of games in front of some big crowds, but I'll always remember the Caley fans after the game still singing, tooting car horns and having a laugh despite the defeat. It opened a lot of our eyes to the level of passion for football in the Highlands. It would have been nice if you had got a consolation goal but you seemed to all enjoy the night anyway. Look forward to a similar Saintees invasion of Inverness next year though, probably more like 400 than 4000 to be honest.
  11. I've never understood either why so many people who visit hospitals feel they have the right to abuse the folk there to help them. My grievance is that sometimes when I go out, I seem to be a ned magnet. Went out for a few ales last night to watch the Man U game, towards the end of the evening this lagered up wee urchin decided to befriend my pal and me. He proceeded to annoy the bar staff, scream at the TV and complain to me about the amount of black people in the pub and remained adamant that he was goint to "get his hole" from his girlfriend who was waiting impatiently outside to give him a lift home. Every hint that he was becoming a pain in the arse was gormlessly ignored and he proceeded to stand with us until he was refused any more drink, then he staggered away into the night. I really need to learn to be less tolerant of vermin
  12. Cheers bud, interesting stuff again. We were in the Premier League at the time of the cup-tie and I think only the old-firm brought bigger away crowds that season. I didn't go to the first game at Telford Street, but my friends and family who went up spoke highly of the atmosphere. With the likes of Elgin & Gr£tna gaining access to the league in recent years it seems likely Caley and possibly even Thistle too may have got their chance in the SFL anyway without the merger.
  13. I'm a wee bit embarassed to like that one too, but it is gloriously catchy. Currently listening to The American Rouse by MC5
  14. Just skimmed over this topic but it's a really interesting thread, my Clach sympathising Invernesian friend told me that there was still resentment in the city over the merger but this has still been an eye-opener. I seems true that ICT don't seem to attract the same passion. I remember in the early 90s when Saints played Caley in a cup replay. I expected maybe a couple of hundred travelling fans but there must have been around 3,000 there for a midweek game, making a fantastic noise. Are the Thistle fans still upset too, or have they been more accepting of the new side?
  15. The sadly broken up Mad Capsule Markets with Good Girl
