It's a substantial change in take home pay between years, though I'd point out it's from the tories raising the 40% threshold rather than the SNP adding 1% to it, so you have to ask yourself if they hadn't done this (it seems economically cavalier to me, but I'm no expert), would you have been unhappy at your level of taxation?

Correct, if they hadn't raised it to 50k starting point for the 40% tax i wouldn't have minded.

But the SNP and Greens approving thetax rates at 43k with a 41% tax is what gets me.

    Nope its correct.

Edit: Looks like new bands coming into force in 2019 do in fact take a bigger chunk, not sure what the detail is on that.

Yeah this is where i've been getting the info provided its correct, closer to the 2k mark of tax more per year.  £166.77 less per month is an utter kick in the bollocks tbh. I don't mind a bit of a gap but this i just too much.

For this to be the case your salary must be well in excess of £100k, closer to the top rate £150k. If it is, fair play to you, you should be pleased to give a bit more tax preserving and protecting Scotland as much as is possible in the current legislative framework.

If it isn't, then your sums are a bit off and you're probably upset when you don't really need to be.

    Used the salary calculator online.

No where near that wages that's for sure. I should have clarified i  meant 2k a year

  4. Might have already been covered but the SNP can poke my past support up their ass. 41 percent tax rate starting from 43k rather than the rest of the UK at 40 percent from 50k.

For years i had an awful wage and finally made the step up this year.

Works out approx 2k IN MY HAND less because i live in Scotland.........utter bollocks

Just ignoring the examples you wanted as they prove you're talking shite?

No point debating with someone who is too biased to see the league for what it is.

Oh yes your stand out examples of Pukki and Johanson, who were both from Celtic who are now doing "alright"

Maddison played on the wing by McInnes as a developing youngster who clearly had loads of talent, he wasn't bought for £6 million for no reason. How quickly he improved once given a run of games was a surprise. Don't forget he couldn't get a game of Norwich before he went to Aberdeen.

Like Lyle Taylor who could only score 3 goals in his last spell up here, yet hasn't failed to score double figures in League One since, or Stephen Dobbie who was punted from Saints for being a fat waster, and never made it in the top flight, yet regularly played a major part in teams getting promoted from the English Championship. Or maybe even James Collins who's a joke figure up here yet smashes about 20 goals a season down South.

Maybe, just maybe, some players are more suited than others to the different leagues, and using individual examples prove absolutely f**k all.

It's fine just bury your head in the sand and use examples of players doing well in league one and two.

You're right Dobbies 1 goal in every 6 at Swansea has shut me right the f**k up as has James Collins 1 goal in every two appearances in League TWO.

I'm pretty sure Partick being awful has something to do with Lyle Taylor - yet he still scored a few for them.

Players like Stephen Fletcher coming up here would have most fans creaming themselves.

    Any decent championship examples?

Given Defoe has hardly scored in the last year and a half, is 36, and on massive wages, I would take Weah as he has more potential to be good than Defoe has and won't eat up as big a portion of the wage budget.   I'm just not buying into the Defoe hype at this stage in his career,  he is a long way off the Defoe of his prime

More potential? Well that'll come in handy next seas.....

He may only be 18 but he's got 8 international caps for the United States (who despite missing the world cup are still pretty good) and has already scored for PSG, I think will be a good signing, probably better than the over the hill Defoe

Honest question, would you take Weah or Defoe on loan rest of season given the choice?

Baring in mind the only reason Weah has played for PSG or USA is because of his dad.

Gauld will never play for Scotland.

    but, but but.....he's baby messi.

Just jealous Aberdeen didn't call Ryan Fraser baby Messi and end up getting millions for him, was fairly clear Fraser was far better.
