Watched this recently myself. really enjoyed it. As you say, Paddy Considine was brilliant. Wasnt the ending I wanted though. 7.5/10

I agree, the first half was quite good , but the second half was , well, a bit rubbish. "Bleak" is the word that best describes the film i think.

Thats the beauty of film, that 2 people can see the same film and have exactly the opposite point of view. I saw this years ago after looking forward to it for ages. I though it was bloody awful. None of the characters had any endearing traits whatsoever, and if it werent for the fact it was based on a true story (it was wasnt it?) I actually didnt care that any of them died. I was bored from start to finish. Thinking back, id probably give it 2/10 and thats being generous.

Saving Private Ryan could have been great. Unfortunately the story-line was pish. Was great in parts (especially the first 20 mins) but the underlying problem was that I couldnt give a shit if they found him or not. It just seemed like a feeble end-goal.

Ive mentioned this before in either this thread or another, but I really dont get the love-in for In Bruges. Its not a bad film, but not really much better than "ok". Most of it is like a bad episode of Father Ted.

That film was absolutely honking. Every horror movie cliche packed into an hour and a half. "Wait here on your own, in the house, where theres a good chance the baddies are, because in no way would it be a better idea if we stuck together". Utter pish

Love this review Might have to check it out. In Bruges - Not as good as many reviews indicate. Nothing happens for the first half, other than Brendan Gleeson and Colin Farrell pretending they are Father Ted and Father Dougal. Farrells portrayal of Dougal is uncanny. Stuff happens, gets slightly more interesting then it ends. Left me thinking "that actually ended up not bad". Far from essential viewing though. 6.5/10

Ive actually got that downloaded but not got round to watching it yet. I have read several great reviews of it.

Have you seen "Frontiers"? Another great French horror film.

Irreversible - Worth fast forwarding the first 10 minutes or so or you'll just end up thinking "wtf is this pish". And possibly get a migraine. Good film though once the start is over.
