  1. Is that four draws in the last five league games (3 at home)? Turning into Inverness.
  2. Guessing those big peaks in the soundwave are where the topic turned to the new badge.
  3. Kicking it long and competing for the second ball was very fashionable for a long time.
  4. The media is desperate. All through the thrashing they took yesterday the radio commentary went out of its way to avoid the fact that they're a mediocre team that has been unusually fortunate. They won't finish within ten points of first place and probably closer to twenty back.
  5. Move to Celtic with a wee 18-month loan back would be perfect.
  6. I don't really know why they would consider any offer that saw Shankland leave in January. What amount of money is worth more than winning this league?
  7. If there are genuinely twenty teams interested and they don't manage to negotiate a loan back then they're not negotiating well enough.
  8. I thought it was a bit of a strange article. About halfway through he switches message from 'Ayr are doing great and here's why' to 'Addiction is tough, kids', without offering any particular insight into the latter. I know he meant it as a positive piece, but to me it reads like he's bringing up the manager's past issues gratuitously. The entire last section could be replaced by "a battle he continues to fight with the support of Cameron". I just felt he laid it on a bit thick.
  9. Beith are four points above Auchinleck in the league, but Talbot have three games in hand. Might well be a similar level.
  10. Is this two games against them in a row that are going to be on the telly? Hopefully the team takes well to Friday nights. Glad we aren't part time now with all this nonsense.
  11. Looking less and less likely that we're going to be able to build a comfortable lead at the top any time soon. Only picking up two points from two winnable home games has opened it right back up for the others.
  12. What's happening with the old rugby ground? Surely not more houses?
  13. They ran a feature on Dundee United before the Celtic game on the Sunday that included highlights. It was entertaining to hear Ayr described as a difficult challenge for the caretaker manager to be faced with.
  14. No we wouldn't have. We'd have gone pop a lot sooner and without any tangible success.
  15. Apparently the Ayrshire Post has an "exclusive" on McCall saying he will reject any approach from Partick.
  16. I was recently reading a matchday programme from the 1989/90 season. In his column the chairman reflects on the fact that the team was aiming to reach the Premier League (despite being about 20 points off a promotion spot with half the season gone). On reflection it's quite sad to recall how things went over the following half-decade. Anyhow, the point is that we're probably seeing the Ayr team with the best chance of promotion to the top flight for forty years right now (taking stadium issues from the past into consideration). It's hard not to be excited.
  17. Took my son to games at ages 5, 6, 8 and 9. He remembers the last one because it was the day we won the league, but it's not something he's taken an interest in. The first couple of games were definitely too early, and the third one got him upset because he though the referee's feelings would be hurt be people booing him.
