  1. Found it quite interesting, reading about internationalists who played for Ayr, that of the ten guys who won caps while on our books there were three Johnnys, three Jimmys and two Jenses. An odd clustering.
  2. Would be an odd move for Smith or anyone to commit to a pre contract without knowing what division the team they're signing for will be in next season.
  3. Was out on the north terrace for that, went from utterly soaked and miserable to delirious in a single moment.
  4. Can see both sides of the discussion on the team's form. On the one hand being three points off the top with a game in hand is brilliant. On the other, it's hard to see how the nine points they've dropped over the past four home games won't be crucial at the season's end. May as well try to enjoy it though - this sort of season doesn't come around often.
  5. The problem with Goodwilllie is less the fact he would bring negative press and more the message it sends to young fans and the women in our support. Even if he were the best player in the world, some things are more important than winning football matches.
  6. Is that four draws in the last five league games (3 at home)? Turning into Inverness.
  7. Guessing those big peaks in the soundwave are where the topic turned to the new badge.
  8. Kicking it long and competing for the second ball was very fashionable for a long time.
  9. The media is desperate. All through the thrashing they took yesterday the radio commentary went out of its way to avoid the fact that they're a mediocre team that has been unusually fortunate. They won't finish within ten points of first place and probably closer to twenty back.
  10. Move to Celtic with a wee 18-month loan back would be perfect.
  11. I don't really know why they would consider any offer that saw Shankland leave in January. What amount of money is worth more than winning this league?
  12. If there are genuinely twenty teams interested and they don't manage to negotiate a loan back then they're not negotiating well enough.
  13. I thought it was a bit of a strange article. About halfway through he switches message from 'Ayr are doing great and here's why' to 'Addiction is tough, kids', without offering any particular insight into the latter. I know he meant it as a positive piece, but to me it reads like he's bringing up the manager's past issues gratuitously. The entire last section could be replaced by "a battle he continues to fight with the support of Cameron". I just felt he laid it on a bit thick.
  14. Beith are four points above Auchinleck in the league, but Talbot have three games in hand. Might well be a similar level.
  15. Is this two games against them in a row that are going to be on the telly? Hopefully the team takes well to Friday nights. Glad we aren't part time now with all this nonsense.
  16. Looking less and less likely that we're going to be able to build a comfortable lead at the top any time soon. Only picking up two points from two winnable home games has opened it right back up for the others.
  17. I live in hope that an island team will make their way into League 2 one day. Who's the most likely?
