Not this season ?? We are only 4 games in and I think it seems Dykes has become the scapegoat for the less than impressive start. I've seen all 4 games and there have been a few others who in racing parlance, 'don't appear to have trained on', he certainly has not been the poorest. -

I think 2 years is certainly very harsh indeed,is what he has supposed to have done any worse than the actions of both Paul McGowan, and Declan Gallagher ? I very much doubt it, and yet they are both being allowed to continue to ply their trade. Baffling -

It could be argued that we had 5 strikers in the squad last season, Reilly, Lyle, Aidan Smith, Pickard and Russell, and under Mr MacPherson, at one point in the season we had 7 although that did not end very well !!The 7 being, Brighton, Smith,Clark,Smillie,McCusker,Reilly, and Parkin -

If true, I hope they are just loan deals and not permanent signings. Carrick may well have been prolific early in his career, but that seems a long time ago now. Last scored against Cowdenbeath in September 2014, hasn't kicked a ball in anger since February and seems to have injury (hamstring) problems. Sorry but does not inspire me at all when you think of other proven strikers who could be 'targeted'.Not enthused by Oliver either, seems to me that they are being 'offered' so as to keep the costs low for Reilly's signature -

What's the problem with McShane? Absolutely ridiculous comment to say 'overrated, and easily replaced'As a youngster still making his way in the game, of course his performances will dip. Easily the most creative midfielder at the club, and his numerous assists from set-plays have been a big bonus this season. The good Carmichael as you refer to has only recently found some kind of form, surprisingly, as he did at this time last season?Far sooner have McShane playing for Queens next season than Carmichael. McShane has improved since becoming a regular starter, whilst Carmichael is the most frustrating player at the club. -

Think that Baird is a decent enough player, but so far has yet to really get going at Queens. Limited chances and with Lyle playing probably better than most expected?? he hasn't had many games. Not sure that he should go though, certainly not unless another striker is in place before hand. Having said that, as a higher wage earner, if he doesn't want to stay...then maybe it's better he moves on. -

Not really sure that Fowler would be ready to move straight into management on his own at this stage, so it might make sense to keep him on, in his current role of player-coach, and then go for an experienced manager like Lennon,or Calderwood for example, with a view to 'promoting from within' in the future. Whatever the outcome, please, please not McCall or Irons. -

Personally I think both clubs are partly to blame. Obviously Rotherham could and should have fielded at least 4, maybe 5 first team members even if it was for just 45 minutes, then I would imagine most people would have been happy. However, once Queens were aware that the Rotherham side would be made up of youth and development squad players..this was made clear on the visitors website on Friday evening..Queens had every opportunity to reduce the admission price which I feel has been the main bone of contention. Quite clearly to be asked to pay £10 to watch what was in fact nothing more than a training match, did not go down so well. In any event the least Queens could have done via website, social media etc would have been to inform the fans of the change of circumstances, this way punters could have made their decision whether or not to attend having full knowledge of the facts. The people I felt sorry for were obviously the visiting fans from Yorkshire. -

Although Baird might have started the game as a lone striker, I thought his link up play in the game was pretty good. His movement and awareness to get into the 'right' positions on several occasions was also good to see. As a proven goalscorer, I certainly expect him to be amongst the goals for Queens this season. Difficult to judge just how good he could be based on playing against yesterday's opponents, but his talent for finding the back of the net on a regular basis throughout his career will be a big bonus for Queens -

You wouldn't start Dowie, Saturday was the first time he hadn't started all season, same with McGuffie, and you haven't expressed your views on Mitchell or Higgins. My point was that perhaps the team is not as good as everybody keeps saying we are. Also what makes you think Paton could get into any other team, he is really nothing more than average, really do not see what the fuss is about him, and as for wee Danny, even you must admit that although he has undoubted ability, we have not seen any of it this season -

Bizarre is it, so according to you, Mitchell, Higgins, Dowie, McGuffie, Young, McShane, Dzierzawski, Lyle, would not 'walk' into any other team which kind of emphasises my original point, have not seen too many people coming on here to suggest that they would like any Queens players, on the other hand, so many from other Championship teams could walk straight into our current line-up. You say of the list that you compiled that they would 'get a game for most sides', by that I take it you mean the teams in the bottom half of the table? Not really convinced that Hamilton, Falkirk, Raith or Dundee would look to strengthen their team with Queens players, especially as they had the chance to do so during the transfer window. -

It's not so much that we rate him so much, it's just at present he seems to be the most likely one to provide a spark, although I would say that Saturday was not his best performance...ironic then that he was not withdrawn. -

If we have such a good team, how many Queens players, on current form, would make the starting line-up of any other teams in the league? Possibly Russell, and Holt, and Kevin D when fully fit. Player for player, every other team has someone better in that position than Queens have, so it is possible that the team is not as good as some people think, hence the current position. -

My concern is that we are not scoring enough, so far in the league it's 11 goals from 8 games, and considering 7 of those were scored in the opening 2 games, the return of just 4 from the remaining 6 games is shocking. We have opened the scoring just once in the league all season, and although we have created chances, we are just not lethal enough in front of goal. With regards to the 3 players you mention, Mitchell and Carmichael have struggled this season as you well know, and Durnan will only play if Higgins or Dowie do not, unless JM changes to a back 3? Not sure where they would move to, but on current form, there will not be too many clubs seeking them out. -

I would agree with that, but it is clear that for whatever reason, Mitchell has not been the same player this season. -

It wasn't just the size of the squad that hindered Brannigan, it was the fact that key players were either injured or suspended during a good part of the season. There is no doubt that Queens 1st choice team, if they had remained injury and suspension free for longer, they could have been more involved at the top of the table. Let's not forget also that during the month of March, Queens played 9 league games, the equivalent of a quarter of a season, which would have been hard enough for a squad twice the size of the one Queens had. I fully agree that his efforts were nothing short of brilliant, and at the start of the campaign, Queens finishing 4th would have been accepted by all, just as right now with no manager, hardly any players, the fixtures not released, a ball yet to be kicked, I would take 8th place right now for the season ahead!!!!!!
