My last day in London today after living here for the last five years.

Just back from seeing The Strokes at Hyde Park last night. Been desperate to see them for years and they were absolutely phenomenal.
.
Aye, they were amazing. That was my eighth time seeing them and every single time been immense. Great set, first time I had heard Angles or Comedown Machine stuff live, so Under Cover of Darkness and One Way Trigger were my highlights.

Swinney has been competent and can actually go beyond initial answers. Not a single vote will be lost during this, whilst the usual Britnat frothers will continue to mess their panties and cry "catastrophe".
Breathe it in, we live in glorious, seethe filled times.

Yeah, sucks to be you.
Cheers Bro. I know, it's a nice problem to have but it is a genuine ballache - weighing up leaving an excellent job and life in London to move into the unknown, even if it is something I have been wanting to do for a while. Not even starting with how difficult it is to convince my missus, that's another story altogether.
Bratislava is an incredible, wonderful city. It's beautiful, old, easy to get around and the people are lovely. That said, there isn't a lot to do in terms of leisure outside work. It's phenomenally cheap to live in, although maybe your salary will reflect that, I don't know. it's also really warm in summer and absolutely freezing in winter, which might not suit everyone but it's a nice contrast for us Scots IMO.
The one thing that might put me off is the language is a right bugger. I mean, you'd need to really be good at picking up languages to even have a chance. Learning Spanish is a lot easier.
Yeah, been a couple of times and love Bratislava. My salary wouldn't be a problem - it's a teaching role in a private school that pays near enough treble the average wage there. The Spanish job is in Galicia and I like the look of that too. Probably just toss a coin for it tbh.

Trying to decide between two job offers in Europe - Bratislava or Spain. Also, trying to convince my girlfriend that moving abroad is a good idea.

Booked tickets for The Strokes in Hyde Park in June. Can't wait.

Getting a chubby at Vinny here. Brilliant from him.

Went for Falkirk parkrun on Christmas day as Ive done pollok a few times and had never done Falkirk. A bit annoyed at my time as I'd cooled off in prep for the big hill they go on about at about 3-4k that actually wasnt that bad :/ so finished off with a quick last km. It was a really enjoyable course though, but quite busy (201 runners)
Remember troops. parkrun double header on new years day - Strathclyde at 9 AM (or Pollok at 09:30) and Tollcross at 11AM, but all the cool kids are doing the Strathclyde/Tollcross combo.
Yeah, I will be doing both runs on New Years Day. First parkrun in ages as I have had a nightmare few months with knee trouble and only really got back running in last couple of weeks - will be happy doing 25 minutes in each one.
Ran three miles yesterday just before lunch, was really nice as the streets were pretty deserted.

I watched The Way, Way Back last night and enjoyed it. A good cast (Steve Carrell, Allison Janney, Sam Rockwell & Toni Collette) in a movie about a dysfunctional nuclear family on holiday in the USA.
A solid four star film. ****

Stanley Odd's new album out today is v.good. Going to see them later in the month too. Pleasing.

Taylor might be a BEAST but that was incredible tonight. Kist played quite well! Great stuff from Bunty too but Anderson looked that horrible shitbag way he gets sometimes with absolutely no belief.

I am also a new SNP member. I don't want any mention of a referendum in the manifesto.

King is seething. Heads gone.

Going to Fulham - Derby tomorrow night in the League Cup. Always enjoy an evening game at the Cottage, plenty of good pubs nearby. Only 10 pounds a ticket too.

Someone mentioned that it was 49/51 - but then it might have been confused with Ipsos
That was me - sorry, I was talking about Ipsos-Mori. Had heard the rumour it was 49/51 earlier today.

It's very close, pollsters also been struggling the whole time to account for ballot box behaviour in such a different vote - been a difficult job for them. I wouldn't get too downhearted for yes just yet though - it is still doable.
-2 -
Depeends, let's say they pull out the exact same number of undecideds, it's still only 150 folk and utterly unreliable.
Hell, if it's 49/51 with about a 2% error, it's pretty much in line with everyone else.
This is apparently the results of the 6pm poll.

I've got to say the newer polls and lengthening odds just make me think it's beyond us now
Apparently there is a poll out later that may shorten the gap to 2%.

Was at Sziget festival in Budapest a couple of weeks ago, absolutely incredible few days. The best sets were probably Manics, Miles Kane, INVSN, Outkast, Bastille, Fink, The Sexican, Imagine Dragons and The Prodigy.
Going to see Broken Records at The Lexington in London on Thursday. Like the new album, even if it doesn't hit the heights of the first one. Should be good.

Was at Fisher v Ramsgate in FA Cup qualifying yesterday. Cracker of a game, Ramsgate winning 4-2 with some fantastic goals and the best refereeing performance I have seen in a long time.
Will probably be back, have developed a soft spot for the Fish and buying a membership to contribute to the running of a fully fan owned club.

Was at Budapest Honved v Nyiregyhaza Spartacus in the Hungarian League today. Not a particularly great game, but enough to keep me interested. Horrific finishing from Honved allowed the visitors to sneak a 1-0 win.

I am going to the Sziget Festival in Budapest next month as part of spending a month there. Can't wait.

Yep, glad that Suljovic won there. Smith winds me up for some reason - great to see him taking the huff. Head totally detached.
The cameraman fair loves that netball team in the crowd.
