If the West seniors goes ahead the remaining juniors will have no connection to it.

I know. But if the Juniors wanted to be part of the Pyramid, you know, the thing they voted for at the AGM a few years back, then it would have to be below that. Or the clubs would have to leave the Juniors individually. What I'm trying to say is, if this new League goes ahead it, the Juniors will never be at the same level as it.

I understood that if the Juniors as a whole or WoSL comes in it will be at tier 6, therefore level. Any left over juniors won't be at any level. Am I wrong?

If this West Senior League goes ahead then the Juniors will be below that. The new League be at the same level as the South League. I hope Option W can be revisited. Only the League winner would leave the Juniors - IF they are Licenced. But Burnie_man seems to suggest that's impossible. And until the West Region can produce evidence that it is possible I'm going to have to believe him. The West Region's previous recommendation failed.

The statement from the SoSFL isn't exactly helpful to the situation either, looks like TAJ has them in his pocket......................

To that end, SSFL believes there may be a readymade solution to the issue of coverage within the West of Scotland.

One solution might be the SJFA West Region League structure being parachuted into “The Pyramid”.

This means there would be no requirement to establish an alternative West of Scotland League.

Unfortunately the Management Committee recommended to their clubs they vote for an option that meant another League had to change its format. Something they did not agree to. The West Region are going to have to start talking to their clubs VERY quickly if they want to avoid a repeat of the East. Revisit Option W at the very minimum. Otherwise the West Juniors will end up at Tier 7.....if they even become part of the Pyramid.

    Why was my post deleted?

    Mon the papers

Was there any slightly dubious about it?

The reason I ask is I made a post a day or so ago and couldn't find it again on the board. The only way I could find it was someone had responded to it and I could get to it via the notifications.

Option W for clarity folks I believe was

(W - the WRSJFA Premiership ONLY is linked into the Pyramid at Tier 6 (i.e. below the Lowland League and equal in status to the EoSL Premier Division and the SoSL) for season 2020-21. The champions of each, IF LICENSED, qualify to play off for promotion to the LL. The WRSJFA Championship, League One and League Two will effectively be placed at Tiers 7 to 8. The ERSJFA and the NRSJFA remain outside the Pyramid.)

Option W was the easiest and quickest fix, if that would have happened it would eb easy to get the East and North to join the flollwoing season

I just had a look at the East of Scotland Premier League. With they exception of Whitehill Welfare they all came from the Juniors and WW are third bottom. So what could have been Tier 6 have left the Juniors and are now in the Seniors. The East Region Juniors now are Tier 7 level.

Time for the West Region to look at their vote again and go with Option W (if the LL allow the winner to go in). The alternative is a repeat of the East Region two years ago.

  6. Does anyone get the feeling, there will eventually (might even be next season) be a West Senior League that will feed in via a play-off with South League and East League and that the West Juniors will in years to come feed into that.

It (West Juniors) could have been Tier 5 (before Lowland League came along) if there had been a East/West Super League. It could even have been Tier 6 next season had the West gone it alone with Option W. Instead it will probably end up being Tier 7.

It can't be repeated often enough, no club will need a licence to join the pyramid at tier 6 or below. It is only when you get promoted to tier 5 that you will need a licence, and to do that you'd need to be winning the tier 6 league against the likes of Auchinleck, Kilwinning, Pollok etc.

Getting a licence is purely a choice for a club, not a necessary requirement.

I thought under (the now failed option Z) it wouldn't just be the league winners in the first season it would be as many clubs as required to split the Lowland League into 2. That's how I thought Option W was best as we'd be a part of the Pyramid but would only the League Winner need a licence to progress to the Lowland League. How quick can a Licence be done? If you're leading the league in say December would there be enough time or would you need to start off the season applying for a licence? (It suddenly dawns on me what a boomer I am, to use the youth of today's expression).

The west Region was offered to enter the pyramid while a solution to the rest was sought, option W in the list of proposals for discussion,  Tom Johnstone blocked this. the tier 6 juniors proposal was included at the insistence of him, even though it was rejected unanimously the previous year.

He knows fine we’ll what he’s doing and as long as there are sheep in the west who will follow him blindly, he’ll continue to stifle progression in order to keep is cushty job.

WRSJFA would have entered the pyramid intact next season, except for one man’s veto, and it wasn’t the LL or EoS...

Maybe the clubs should have voted for this, rather than voting how they thought the Management Committee wanted them to vote.

A dilemma a lot of clubs face balancing the books.i would have it half pay after X weeks like 1000s of other employers

For most other employers they'd be on statutory sick pay of £94.25 per week......but only if they were earning over £118 per week to start with.  Most Junior clubs will be paying below that.

  10. I just think there was a bit of hypocrisy about things. Had one of the other ones made the remark, would there have been the same clamour for him to resign? Would it be in the papers?

I reckon an apology would have been offered......possibly more sincere, and likely accepted. It just most clubs will at one time or another have had a grievance with him. I know his fixture scheduling once cost Largs a hell of a lot of money. A game against Talbot that could have been played on a Saturday when Talbot still had a chance of winning the League and Largs had a chance of avoiding relegation. Largs were made wait 58 days to play the game. Largs were ahead of all the other clubs in fixtures. All the other clubs were allowed at catch up on fixtures and end their season before Largs. In the end the game was played on a Monday night when the result had no effect on anything. So I don't have much love for the man.

The red dots? Haha - I think there were 13 the last time I looked. I'm scared to look now.

    What happens now?

Will his job be advertised to try and get some fresh blood in or will it go to one of the blazer crew?

Probably go to one already there - the position was only created to keep him on the committee when it was obvious he was going to lose the vote.

P.S. Don't distract from the tenet of this thread. The auld c*nt is an odious individual and always has been. I'm more worried that nobody stopped him the moment he said it.

It's odd that, isn't it? 60 or so delegates as well as Management Committee and not one walked out or stood up to complain. It's almost as if they weren't that angry at the time but later thought we'd better get offended by this. I think most of the outrage on here is caused by people hating the man and they've found their "Gotcha" moment and now they can get rid of him.

The apology isn't enough. Getting rid of him isn't enough - the West Region didn't act fast enough. Maybe the whole West Region office bearers should stand down. Maybe the West Region should be kicked out of football.

And here come the red dots again.

The way the Options were worded, the Management Committee's preferred Option Z was highlighted as having the approval of the East Region, SPFL and LL.
They do not say if Option W had the approval of SPFL or LL. Obviously the East Region are against it.
The East Region are not on the same level anymore as the West Region. They have already lost all their top clubs to Senior Football. The way the West Region is going, it will also lose its top clubs.

There is no approval or disapproval, that's what these meetings are supposed to be for, to provide feedback on all four proposals plus the boundary. That seem to have got lost along the way in the west.

    "Support" not "Approval."
