Bevis will be the longest serving player, I seem to remember that he signed because he was in training with us when someone else got injured.
Was that not Kipre? When some other bum signed for a league one english team?

Offering literally all of that defence from last season a new deal is some approach...
The Ox has them covered with his competent goalkeeping and ability to talk them through the game.

My guess would be that Obika must have triggered his option as there's no mention of him in that blurb from Kettlewell about players leaving (although he doesn't mention Callan Elliot either).
awww naw

I'd rather have Bevis than that Livi Diddy.
is the OX no.1?
Offering Butcher anything is mind blowing to me.
Obika's details being missing is a mind f**k.0 -

How does the Kelly going to Rangers affect the Euros.
If somehow Kelly managed to make the final team which team benefits from the club payment of a player? Assuming we are onto nothing as it's into June?
28 minutes ago, MurrayWell said:Think his contract ends after the euros, so we'd get the payments. I don't see him getting into the squad mind you.
I am 95% sure he was asked to, and signed an extension. A lot of fitba contracts run out June 30th. Scottish fitba saves a months wages by having them until May 31st.

I can mind seeing people have issues in years past too. I don't know unfortunately.

The club have been making some really strange decisions of late, with what they are sharing and what they are not sharing. The list may not seem like a big deal to them, but when every other club is doing it, it's a really bizarre stance to take, if indeed this is a stance/tactic.
When you add that to the whole not telling us about player and manager contract extensions the whole thing is just weird. I don't think it's to deliberately mislead, but it's just fucking strange.
EDIT: Just to add to this, St Johnstone starting to announce players departing, couple of their cup winners, with a caveat of a full update being on the way, will probably just annoy folk further, given how long we've known what division we'd be playing in, in comparison.
The sneaky extensions part was weird (I believe the SK one was so the Chairman and ex CEO didn't have to deal with manager change in the last part of their reign, well that's my tin foil hat theory) but the release list is fine. Their contracts probably run until 31st may, the season isn't officially over yet either. It'll come. They also want to tie up a player or two before saying who's doing what.

I'm not sure folk realise that this guy can't get 49% without the WS losing control of the club.

EB comes in, takes a stake in the club (49% or lower, otherwise why are we bothering?) and uses his skills and ideas to increase exposure of the club (via a documentary, cartoon, drama etc.) and the WS to new people and markets.
I know nothing about shares and such but I keep seeing the 49% thing and I get why it is mentioned, but how does that work if about 26% (or whatever it is) of shares currently don't belong to the Society? Surely those guys either need to disappear or in order for EB to get 49%, the Society needs to end up with even less? If EB gets 49%, I assume the hope is the Society keeps 51%, so where do all the other go? We assuming he buys those shares?
How do the folk who want this guy to invest think the divvy of shares will end up? Or hope they will end up?0 -

I understand this, and the logic is sound, but the example of this that everyone turns to is Wrexham, which, I suppose, fair enough.
But from the off, the reason that Ryan Reynolds is involved is that he does have "f**k Off" money. They lost £5 million on their way back to the EFL. Fair play, that's an 'investment' of sorts, with the debt to the owners sitting at $9,000,000, and 7.25% interest being charged on that. Quite how that all shakes out in the long term is anyone's guess. Will they be a Premier League club? Probably not. Will some other group see it as an opportunity and jump on board? Maybe?
For all the Barmack chat about him "building the club up" and things like that, he a) doesn't have that kind of money, and b) building it up to... who? An international audience? Fine, like, there's probably an audience for that, but even on a smaller scale to Wrexham, it simply doesn't make sense to me. If you're "building up", by definition, you're reaching out to people who probably aren't going to become deeply committed to "our wee club". It will be a fleeting, transient interest, when the premise is to build it over a long time in order to try and recoup some of the significant outlay put down. If you're seeking a local audience to grow? I'm not sure that works either.
At best, to me, you end up just marginally better off. At worst, you end up with a fucking chaotic amount of debt to service to someone who ultimately; doesn't actually give a f**k about the club and the well being of the folk that actually turn up. Maybe he writes it off, maybe he ends up divorced and needs as much money back ASAP.
Clubs across Scotland seem absolutely desperate to grab a short-cut to wealth. Say what you like about guys like Burrows at the club, but he certainly seemed to subscribe to the long haul, of doing the right thing for a long time, every time, gaining you kudos and respect and ultimately, a steady footing.
Not a dig at anyone in favour of this kind of planning and seeking investment from people like Barmack, but it simply is not for me, and I find the headlong rush into it by ourselves and other clubs across scotland, hugely concerning.
Nailed it

With no real knowledge of it, I reckon the financial issues are a bit overplayed. EVERY club (almost) is living year to year IMO.

I appreciate they make a lot of noise from the Hunter stand but they also do some weird stuff. Like encouraging all supporters to wear claret & amber for the final home game then unveiling a red, white & blue Bologna banner for...some reason? I like Bologna a lot. It's a beautiful city and their team is doing well but I'm no sure where that came from. If it's the Ferguson/Scottish thing then even Accies would have more a reason to do that. Pyro/smoke also adds hee haw for me other than being stinking.
There is a few of them that have been to Bologna games a few times. Dunno how it started but I've seen it from a few guys I know. (i'm actually insanely jealous) It's the same NEC and Aalesunds. Except there is a fairly obvious link there. I actually agree with all you've said

Based entirely on rumours or on info about the deal you shouldn't be party to yet?
Nah, not only. I also can't understand why someone would want to invest in a Scottish football team. Never mind someone who has zero links to the club or town. That's just off putting.
As for the noisy singing/ultra section. I reckon they just want more exposure.0 -
There is one name I'd like to see on the GTF list, It begins with Erik.

I think some of Theo's attributes are fantastic & some are still pretty raw, but he's got that big North American athlete look about him and those types are very coach-able.
I love him and reckon he'd be deadly again next year (if he stops that f**k stuttered penalty run up). Like others though I'd bite yer hand off for north of £750 k2 -

I didn't see that but put me on the list for that being weird too.
Unless it's a wee kid who has done it and thinks it's funny then why anyone would spend the time to cut together a football players mistakes just seems entirely odd to me...and it's just not that nice a thing to do.
Welcome to the internet.

Not having this "people are weird" for putting together that video. There was one of Zander Clark's that went up here a while ago and folk lapped it up.

If your going to put together a Liam Kelly reel of errors, probably a wise move to cut out the goals that aren't his fault.
That's true
He was shite though.3
