  1. Whyte, Green, Brown...I'm predicting a bloody battle at the end where everybody dies. Quentin Tarantino is behind all of this.
  2. I reckon it's more likely he'll base his decision on the number of pubs per square mile...if my sources are correct.
  3. I was a bit surprised by this statement too. The interviewer pulled him up on it and asked him to name the clubs in question at which point he looked pretty uncomfortable as he tried to bat it away. I think he genuinely doesn't understand that the situation the club is in is unprecedented insofar as the SPL is concerned. Maybe because he's had 'assurances' from the usual suspects at the SFA and SPL that everything will be OK. But I think the football landscape has changed and with decisions that would normally be taken behind closed doors and in secret being analysed by UEFA and FIFA, not to mention fans of every other club, the establishment can no longer rewrite the rules to suit them. They're not accustomed to this level of criticism and the empire is crumbling in the glare of public scrutiny.
  4. That might explain his policy of buying gash players from Rangers at inflated transfer fees - Boumsong for £8m anyone? A cynical man might suggest he benefitted both himself and his pal Sir David. This quote lifted from the 2007 Stevens inquiry 'There remains inconsistencies in evidence provided by Graeme Souness – a former manager of the club – and Freddy Shepherd – apparently acting in an undefined role but not as a club official – as to their respective roles in transfer negotiations'
  5. Given that the SPL chairmen are of the opinion that Rangers are necessary for them to survive does that mean they'd start throwing games if newco Gers are in danger of relegation next season? Surely if Killie are sitting safely in 7th and Rangers are doing a Hibs then we could expect to see them lie down to gift them the 3 points and ensure their survival?
  6. I suspect that they're waiting till after Rangers are in liquidation or giving them time to form a newco so that they can say there were no rules in place to cover that eventuality. This will then allow them to say that because there are no rules, the SPL, it's member clubs and the board can't dish out retrospective punishments and so allow newco Rangers to return to the SPL with no effective sanctions. The whole issue will be whitewashed under the limp pretence of 'what can we do, there are no rules'. Watch this space, as soon as the season is over the whole situation will move quickly. Duff & Phelps will no longer be required to stall and plans made over the past few months will be put into action. Rangers liquidated and reformed in a matter of weeks ready for next season.
  7. Well as money appears to be the principal motivation I'm sure a bit of cash will be all that's required. It'll be a case of take a small share of something as opposed to 100% of nothing. The other 10 clubs can sell their rights to BBC ALBA. The days of an SPL wide TV deal are numbered I'm afraid.
  8. I dunno, I've heard it mentioned that it may be in Celtic's interest to see the current SKY/ESPN deal fall through. Without a TV deal in place for the league this would leave Celtic free to negotiate their own TV deal. After all as we all know it's only the OF that TV is interested in anyway.
  9. The SPL don't give a toss whether you go to the games or not. Football is no longer run for fans who attend games. As long as the SPL board get their wages from SKY and the clubs get their wee share, they'll continue to do whatever is necessary to keep some form of sh*t TV deal.
  10. FFS this Bill Miller ducking and diving deal makes Craig Whyte sound positively legit'. I have no doubt that this will get kicked into touch, if not by the SPL, then the SFA. A newco is a newco is a newco, no matter what you try and call it and I'll wager that Miller's proposal (as was reported before) is conditional on the newco sanctions being dropped - but that won't happen. This just allows Duff & Phelps to continue the process of delaying until the end of the season when Bill Miller finally pulls out of the deal and Rangers liquidate.
  11. You're right. Let's be thankful that there's only one promotion spot and we can stay away from all the sh*te in the SPL.
  12. Wishful thinking. Unfortunately the SPL including the chairmen of the diddy clubs will all vote in favour of allowing newco Rangers immediate entry back into the league. They're quite happy to continue getting f**ked up the @rse as long as they can keep their snouts in the trough - only difference is that they can see a chance to get some sugar sprinkled into the gruel that they manage to beg from the OF table. Scottish football has a chance to change but the SPL are going to blow it.
  13. Indeed, why don't they take the ultimate stand and boycott life. At the old firm game they can all hold their breath for 90 minutes - that will show the SFA they really mean business.
  14. Yes but with every cloud...sales of dancing shoes have gone through the roof.
  15. Might work...as long as you don't have to fill in a form or use big words.
  16. Indeed. Here's some selected quotes: Nah, nah, nah, nah, nah - we were going to be sh*te anyways. Not sure that it actually states this in the contract - no-one seems sure. As for a new deal, there isn't one, remember - SKY wouldn't sign it. Losing it means cutting your cloth to suit, as long as it's a level playing field why should this be a significant problem. The TV deal will be smaller, no doubt, but any chairman worth his salt will already be planning for that. Especially at Ibrox. Pretty sure that'll be part of the SKY TV deal Andy. Andy could it be that the SFA are looking after all the other clubs? Protecting them from Rangers' unscrupulous business practices? It'll be many many more than that, trust me. That old chestnut? Tell you what Andy why not call for the SFA to start investigations into former director Paul Murray, after all he was there when Sir David was rampaging through the tax system and racking up unpayable debts. Why not also call for an investigation into Bill Miller, not much known about him? I'll tell you why because you want your cake and eat it...someone to save the club and someone to blame if it all goes tits up.
  17. Apparently Duff & Duffer asked the Bloo Knights for a £500k non-refundable deposit to be named preferred bidder. Now obviously Ticketus are already into Rangers for about £24 million and the rest of The Bloo Knights have no money so I can see why they decided to tell them to get stuffed. Will be interesting to see if Mr Ng or the towing magnate have any cash either - here's a prediction - neither will come forward with that cash. I wonder if Duff & Phelps were relying on that half million to see them to the end of the season.......buleeeeeeve!!
  18. At what point do the SPL and the SFA conduct their due diligence on the bidders? It was thrown about by numerous Rangers fans earlier this year that one of the main reasons they're in such a mess was a failure of the football authorities to thoroughly investigate Craig Whyte's background. Can I assume that this will now happen and that if there's any suggestion of questionable business credentials then the SPL and SFA will move to block the takeover? After all we wouldn't want to make a hopeless situation worse...
  19. You need to announce that you are looking at a couple of 'big name' players, possibly linking the club with several EPL stars...Steven Fletcher or maybe Carlos Tevez?
  20. I think you're giving them too much credit. The vast majority are no more than sports hacks, simply writing what they're told to and documenting the events at the football match they happen to be covering. There is very little in the way of investigation, evaluation or analysis on show here.
  21. Rest assured once the season is over Rangers will be liquidated. Duff & Duffer are simply killing time, pretending to work behind the scenes until then. They know that if they went into liquidation now then the SPL would be forced to declare all Rangers results void and effectively throw them out of the league. But if it's done in the close season then not only can they claim prize money they can perhaps see a phoenix club take Rangers place in the SPL before the next season starts.
