  1. Just about everyone I've spoken to or heard speak at various meetings has come to the conclusion that we need to go pro to have a chance to survive in senior football. Some don't like it but are realistic to know we have little option.

Whilst realising the risks of going pro I can't help being a bit excited by the prospect. Where do we get funds to go pro? I don't know but I do know that a lot of new opportunities open up.

As a wise man said at the QP AGM. - "let's just get this done".

  2. It is possible we may be able to stay in senior football whilst staying amateur but there is no doubt in my mind that we have a much better chance if we go professional in some way.

No guarantee of course but for me the most important thing is to maximise our chances. Staying amateur in a senior professional league for so long was a great achievement. But we have to adapt to different times.

I know some will disagree but staying senior is more important to me than staying amateur.

On 6th of June Queens Park Twitter said Mark Roberts has great news on players signing for Queens next day we were told about Galt . Since then nothing when will we hear the rest of the great news .

1 July or thereabouts for new players. If/when we go professional that will change - along with a lot of other more important things.

According to QP Facebook page we will find out signing news tomorrow. Whether this is just players we have re-signed or new players as well I’m not sure but it is described as “great” news. That word again.

Please someone correct me if I'm wrong, but my understanding is we can announce those who have re-signed from last season in June, but can't officially annonce signing anyone new until July.

Possibly but not sure if that applies to new players that are not currently with a club.

Pretty sure that when Boris originally called him a great player he was talking more about his ability, not his overall status in our history . I can't speak for him though.

I am well aware of the difference between being "great" and being "a great" For the record, he's one of the best keepers I've ever seen play for us and any player who plays a major role in one of our promotion winning sides is pretty legendary to me  ( we've only had 6 in our history after all)

It was quite simple (I thought!). Wullie was a great QP player. I didn't think that was a remotely contentious comment.

Quite what it has to do with Bill Burgess, Alan Irvine etc etc etc ........... I don't know (and don't want to find out).

  6. Spider - Your "joke" about throwing a milkshake over Wullie if he returned strongly suggested that you would not give him the same support as everyone else.

Glad to see you've seen the errors of your ways and will give him your full support if we are  lucky enough to get him back.

  7. oh Boris, you were doing pretty well up to that point but "great"..........seriously?  "Good" I would certainly concede, but Lord help us if that's all it takes to be a great player for us nowadays :thumbsdown

To be the player of the year in a promotion winning team? And then to be outstanding in a team that was not far away from play offs to the Championship?
That’s great enough for me and I’m sure to any other QP fan who is not carrying out some petty vandetta against him. Can’t think of many QP players in living memory that can boast that sort of record.
