  1. As i see it, the next step if the board and players wont listen or budge is to hit them where it hurts...financially.

Get the celtic fans to boycott the cup tie, maybe they can make one off donations to cover their own club, and this will badly knock the income the club gets. I bet the board are counting on that money to pay Goodwillie, or maybe get rid of him.

Maybe even boycott or message premier sports to stop the broadcast. That will be the only way to guarantee a reaction.

And if fans worry about long term finances of the club, the cup money is a bonus that wouldn't be budgeted for. So no worries there.

Raith have obviously fucked this badly but it's really time for the whole of Scottish football to take a look at ourselves.

Clyde who played him for the past 4 years, the United fans who sang "he does what he wants", every away fan who used it as an excuse for a point and laugh GIRUY rather than genuine disgust.

Hopefully as a whole we can start to address the toxic culture around the game. Huge strides taken to address homophobia and support mental health in recent years. Its time to look at toxic masculinity and male entitlement culture now too.

On the one hand I hate the way football is expected to address societal issues but on the other hand some of the views some football fans feel comfortable expressing today show that the shifting the culture in and around the game is would have a positive knock on effect elsewhere.

    Excellent post.

I have wondered if there was a backlash when Clyde took him all those years ago. I imagine so but cannot remember.

But back then we didn't see the fans/public push back as much. More recently with BLM for example, the reaction does not go down, and the push goes until something seems to change. Prince Andrew for example as well, it didn't stop and the strive to right continued. Don't wanna go over them in here so ill say no more on them. You cant just sit back and wait for everything to blow over.

That's what i suspect the Raith board are doing now, a few days/weeks and a few wins later it all settles down.  Look around, it doesn't work nowadays. And this post points out why it shouldn't. Steps need to be taken now so societal issues can be better addressed by the clubs but how when continuing to employ people like Goodwillie?

  3. Few years back, i listened to a twin atlantic. Didnt remember listening to them again since, and seen when looking for something new the other day, they had a new album out. I thought in my head from what i remembered they were  kind of garage rock territory sorta thing from my vague memories. InI listened to the new album and i doubt anything else released in 2022 could be worse.  Felt like i was listening to a more pop punky Gerry Cinnamon mob. Dire dire stuff, cant believe i had a vague memory of liking something from them years ago. The shame!

  4. Watson had to go , no issues with Grant or the board there. I am kind of in my head imagining Watson showing up dressed in a big hat now trying to hide his hair. Makes it funny. But none the less he let the club and fans down.

Don't doubt Grant tried, but it just wasn't good enough. My issues often with him seemed to be with his saying things like we had lots of chances in games when we didn't. I remember a thread, not sure if on here or dot net, where he said in the rangers game, we had great chances immediately after 3 of their goals...which everyone said was not true. He just reminded me of McLeish in charge of Scotland the second time, like he was watching something different from the rest of us. That issue means no fans will ever have belief in him, and i didn't.

  5. No wins all season, never win in Inverness, so home win all day.

    TEam..does it matter?

    Actually id do two changes

Vytas in for one of Breen/Connolly, and Pybus in for Dow. Dow been useless and Pybus can add hard work along side Todd and Allan in theory making as bit tougher to break down as he runs more.

    But thats all ive got!

He is a good player, but he's seemingly lost whatever pace he had since his injury, don't know if that will return now. Perhaps has to modify his game.

    Lovely looking bloke though.

He just doesnt seem with it. Poor touches all the time, always stretching for everything. He could have made a better effort to block the opening goal as well, and didnt cover himself in glory for raith goal recently.. Liked him a lot in last few years but so far this season he is letting himself and the team down.

Nope. We’ll revert back to sort and concede early, then proceed to completely collapse. The board will decide that they don’t have time to sack the manager at any point before the international break, we’ll get hammered by Raith and QoS as well and we’ll enter the break 5 points behind 9th place. Then the board will enjoy a leisurely break from worrying about football, before sacking Grant halfway through the international break and having to rush around to find anyone willing to take on this shambolic team to face Killie.

  9. Not a lot i can add that hasnt been said already

Peter Grant talks a good game, I like his interviews, but I liked Crawfords too...for a while...anyway. The proof is on the training ground and the pitch, and so far we seem to have against pretty much all the sides in our league or St Mirren in the cup, we do seem to get overrun.

Battered by Partick for huge chunks of both first halves against them, and at St Mirren and Morton. Right away it suggests we are just not ready, not sharp enough, not confident enough from the off.

We improve becuase to a large extent we have players better than the first half levels, but to me Grant is not getting the best out of the players at the moment. The positioning of players may be an issue, he does seem to believe all footballers should have a basic level of ability to slot in anywhere and be able to perform. I understand this logic for simply passing to a team mate to move up the pitch, anyone should be able to do this, but can Thomas bring the ball forward from the deep of protect a back 4. Can MacDonald / Edwards stop crosses coming in. ross Graham can maybe pass, can he handle big target men strikers, like Uqwu and Graham? its like he wants players comfortable on the ball without thinking if they can do the things needed to give us a platform to  play the good football.

Not helped by a goalkeeper who looks to me as poor as anyone ive seen in goal at east end. I cant think of a save he makes, doesn't command the box, has clattered a Morton player to the ground to give away a penalty, misplaced passes and seems to inspire no confidence in the defence...ahence no clean sheets. Graham needs taken out the team. At least we have numbers at the moment for cover, but just hope Breen/Jones/Gaspuitas do better.

With Todorov, Wighton, Thomas, O'Hara, Dow and possibly Kennedy, we should cause teams problems, until defence if right and centre midfield, we can forget it. I worry we have brought in a lot of players in these positions and none of them will lead to a strong enough foundation to let the attackers flourish

  10. Some highlights of the year so far

    Alfa Mist - Bring Backs

Myles Kennedy - The Ides of March

King Gizzard the Wizard Lizard - Butterfly 3000

    Pearl Charles - Magic Mirror

Lana Del Rey - Chemtrails over the country club

    Sault - NINE

As per last year the worst album i think so far goes for my teenage 90s punk rock bands latest entry. Green Day were the let down last year, But The Offspring did even worst this year.

  11. Crawford has more or less achieved what AJ did. And AJ went. What i think is giving Crawford more time is fact he is bringing on the youngsters and has secured us players we cpuld one day get fees on. I no of course JA did this with Jackson Longridge of course. SC approach with younger players means he is trying out a more "harder to get right plan"than AJ. But AJ never really had issues with paft time teams. Ok Alloa at east end in last season aside he tended to beat part time sides in league and cup 9 times out of 10. Crawfords era seen is lose to Raith, Edinburgh,Arbroath, Alloa and Stranraer which are games i think AJ would have won.I say time for SC to go personally though as like everyone else..i think he has the right idea..and done some good things..but he cant make it work where it counts most on the pitch.
