  1. For all I'm happy with the result as a Musselburgh man I'd be careful what you wish for here.  Who would be any better for you than Stevie is at the moment.  Stevie's a decent manager and many at the Burgh would have been happy to have him back here at recent points in our past.

Musselburgh's going through a great spell (with a hugely well liked and sharp manager)just now as have Penicuik in the recent past, you were only only stopped short by Tranent flinging money at their 'project' in the same time-frame last season.  Took us a wee bit to arrive at the place we're at with Liam now after a few managerial juggling acts since we lost Geordie who had been an absoulte star for us. Set high standards and you've made a noose for your own neck but I'd trust Stevie  to turn this around (don't think it needs that much to do that, Penicuik are nowhere near a rank side after all).

Who is about and available that would replace him?  Who would offer better to Penicuik right now?  Got a fair bit of time for Penicuik, love a game up there and a lot of decent people up there, there is a wee edge to some of their supporters though that certainly puts that (smallish) group into the 'you'd never mistake them for a ray of sunshine' set.

More time to pull together than creating difficulties you don't need to.  No more than my thoughts, know that some Cuikie fans will reckon it's none of my concern but offering a bit of a neutral perspective.

Sorry you take the `dummy`s view` of campaigns to improve Scottish football (for non-league clubs and all players and fans) - which has the worst access to competition in Europe, maybe the world. These campaigns have achieved a myriad of changes in the game since 1994 .. all without a titter from a really, really, poor parliament and government. `Pyramid Pete` is now 76 and has other interests abroad. Any particular reason you feel he should be working free for you ?

Some good news is that the big diary (until 2026) from that site transferred to a new group Supporters for Change, who intend to run a similar fixtures programme. Should be up and running soon on the new campaign www.CAT22.org site

Didn't call anybody or anything a dummy merely said it had been spat out and that the site was well run when providing the fixtures.  He's entitled to do as he wishes, doing as I wish I don't really see any need for the site now that he's withdrawn the fixtures and I'll choose not to visit, site Jordi has posted will do for me now.  He does seem to like making his point in a fairly unstructured manner, his choice, nowt to do with me.

Good that you know how to type in bold so I can tell when you're reallly serious about something.

  3. Looks like the guy who runs it has spat the dummy out again and taken his ball home, not publishing the fixtures anymore which for all I'm really not sure what he's ranting about sometimes he did very well.

Any other sites somebody could recomment that give a day by day listing of Scottish non-league fixtures?

  4. At the Musselburgh v Sauchie game last week and while the referee was well able to take care of himself the abuse he was getting from a Sauchie knuckle-dragger was ludicrous.

A ref makes a mistake, that's the nature of it, fast enough game, lot to work out in a very short timeframe with a load of people telling them what they think happened as well.  Those mistakes will happen, not even sure it did here but to suggest he was a Musselburgh fan and a cheat was fucking ludicrous.

Hardly surprising we're short of officials when they deal with twats like that.

  5. Nae idea myself, good luck to him if he decides he wants to give it a go at a higher level instead of just wanting to remain at a place that would seem to be the eptome of the 'big fish, small pond' mentality.

Don't really know anything about Sandys but if they are that good then they should maybe look to stepping up to a better level of competition in the EoSL to give decent players and managers a possible path.

They have had the best squad in their league for the last 5 years - by a long shot in my opinion.

It really has been very underwhelming in the league since Calvin left, its not too much to ask to finish high up with this squad.

Nothing underwhelming about Geordie's time as manager, one of the best times we've had as a support.  He went up, went on to a decent job, that's the way we want it for folk here.

A new era @ Musselburgh. Welcome back Nathan Evans 💙

In amongst all the judgemental havers going on here it is at least refreshing to see hugely positive things happening at the club, welcome back Nathan and great that we've got Liam in given he's hugely liked and admired at the club, welcome Wayne as well.

Anybody trying to portray The Burgh as a difficult club to work at doesn't know it well, probably one of the most rational and commited comnitees in the league, not every decision's going to be spot on but when has that ever happened down this way?

There is no football club in the land where all players, coaches , manager and committee sing from the same hymn sheet constantly.

They are only two points from top of league, the captain rightly accepted assistant manager at Musselburgh ( another club with turnover of managers / players )

The big guy that does the programme is a genuine ,well respected man who will be hard to replace and sorely missed.

I think that it needs clarified that to a large extent that a lot of the turnover at Musselburgh has been up the way Andy,  I'm a fan but in pretty much every case bar one or two Olivebank's been a good place for managers and players to play/manage for a decent club or work their way further up.

  9. Winning away is always nice, Lithgae nae better or worse than most away wins.

Only time that we'd really put any more importance on a game is if it was against local rivals, Tranent, Nitten, Dunbar to a lesser extent probably top of the tree.

You can believe that Lithgae are all important to other clubs but it's no' true.

    • Every team's judged by its results.  I'd say that was a good one today,  well done today Burgh, well done today Joe et al.

Everybody there today enjoyed it, we all had a great day.  Brian. get behind the management team we've got now.  I loved Geordie (and as a human being still do) but he moved on, it's looking like Joe'll keep us going the right way as well though,  he's as happy as we are today with that.

      I'm happy where we are.

At what point did I say anything like the Linlithgow mangement (sic) team are not bothered? Don't put words in my mouth.

What am I saying? The Rose are a scalp to take, beating us means more than beating most other teams in the league, it's all just three points but beating the Rose means more.

You think Linlithgow were firm favourites? We'll take your word for it that you can think at all, but I don't think anyone had the Rose as firm favourites, we would be expected to be in the mix certainly, but firm favourites? Never heard anyone talking like that.

Entirely understandable when you're as bog awful pish as you were today.

Campbeltown to Berwick is 240 miles, they have to put the tier 5 line somewhere before going National at tier 4, then split it again at tier 6. You know, like a pyramid.

i think the 42-(16-18)-the rest is about the right set up for Scotland, it just need to be more fluid

EDIT - and it’s better than the English system where you would have Cumbernauld Colts playing in the Highland league before too long

Both are within the lowlands however, debatable that Angus is part of the Highlands.

The issue remains, there is going to be more movement of central belt clubs from the SPFL into non league and movement of HL clubs into the SPFL without consistent replacements relegated from the SPFL to HL should we promote the champions of both, gegraphy as opposed to abilitiy becomes a pertinent factor.

The HL teams will have an easier path because of there being fewer teams in their catchment while the central belt is more difficult a path due to the downward movement of league teams into the non-league part of the set-up.

How many teams in the SPFL, (should they get relegated)are natural fits for the HL?  5 maybe 6?  That would include a championship (soon to be 2) and two Premier sides that aren't likely to fall that far any time soon.

2 clubs that could fall into the HL and really Elgin are the only ones in a position to fall if it was two up two down this season.  Take Elgin out of League 2 and the nearest club that could arguably go into the HL area are Forfar who are in a promotion play-off).  They (and this seasons HL Champions) wouldn't bring the necessary balance.

Promoting on a regional basis to the SPFL will always ensure geography is as much a factor as ability for a club.
