  1. Think it’s early days for the singing section so wouldn’t write it off just yet. If it builds momentum it could attract more folk and add to the atmosphere at run of the mill games. Club needs to stamp down on any flare damage and Norrie’s McCathie songs though (if this was sung yesterday).  Leave that sort of pish to the Old Firm.

No sausage rolls or steak and haggis pies in one of the kiosks (at about 4.15!) but the steak pie was tasty and the kids liked their hot dogs- a definite improvement on previous catering I’d say.
In defence of the long queues, I’d say being a tea-time kick-off, maybe more folk than usual for that size of crowd were wanting food?

Hardest game to test the new catering with. Always huge queues and long waits at a derby and suspect there were a few sampling the new menu. Will hopefully calm down. Had the Chicken Curry pie. Top notch.

Programme in the COVID season, on recycled paper, was very good with excellent articles. Last year's was okay but not outstanding. Think there is merit in keeping one but I am old and so programme and 50/50 tickets on way in is part of the ritual.

Like the feel of a programme too in the same way I like reading an actual newspaper, but have got to the point where I no longer bother with either. Now just watch the Raith TV interviews as build up.  More and more doing the same I guess so leaves the club the choice of lose money or put the price of the programme up for those that still buy it - which would probably reduce sales even further. It is a real shame but does feel like the writing is on the wall. Appreciate that doesn’t make the decision to axe it easy for those who love it or those who give their time to put it together.

  4. Gave up on friendlies years ago as they can be a glorified kick about. As others have said, we’ve had great pre-seasons then been garbage when the season kicks off and vice versa. We’ll only know from when things get going properly, but seen enough decent moves and goals in the highlights to be encouraged going forward. Sounds like the defence needs strengthened but hopefully we can do that and be much more competitive than last year. I’m choosing to believe that under the new owners we’re entering an early 90s like golden era again, at least until Saturday night.

I think that’s somewhat the elephant in the room just now. If we made a huge loss every year with next to nothing of a behind the scenes team and  a decaying stadium. I’m not sure where all the additional cash is coming from.

This is the elephant in the room. One off investment is great and very welcome but unless commercial income goes up significantly then any additional salaries are just going to create an even bigger shortfall. Willing to trust that the new guys know what they’re doing financially, but making Rovers sustainable is a big ask.

  6. If there are people who are willing to pay for steps, tiles, bricks, bits of the pitch, floodlights or whatever then I’d say crack on. Clubs at our level and below need as much cash through the door as possible. If they find folk willing to stump up hard cash for notional ‘ownership’ of a bit of the Falkirk pitch then it’s more genius than tinpot.
