I see young Danny Thomson who we had on loan a year ago has been released from hearts, creative central midfielder.. Worth gettin in til end of season in my view.

Unfortunatly bbc and sky will need to announce its live games this week (i think thats the rule) so very much doubt they will chose any games that have replays. Could u imagine skys embarassment of they chose celtic or arbroath vs raith but arbroath beat celtic... So have to show raith vs arbroath on a sunday afternoon? Doubt they be chuffed

So we losing a player who wouldn have featured in first team for at least 3 season, and gain a player who will go into first team squad.. Fair play to mcglynn murray hearts and raith and probably king hutton.. Haha..
Seriously though smith was decent first time round lets hope for more of the same.
Now can we get jamie walker please old friend mr mcglynn.

Grant anderson is a quick skillfull winger if i remember right. He played against us for accies when we beat them 3-2 in november, he them got put on loan to stenny.. Think he played 6 n scored 3 for stenny, scored 5/6 for accies also

can someone tell me what ive missed, as far as i was aware john bairds been honest with himeslf the club and the fans, what have we got to grudge him? hes not saying he wants away, he saying if the chance comes he feels he is ready to step up . His last interview ended with him saying "last season was great, i loved it" "i guess we willhave to wait and see what pre season brings" "will be hard to emulate what weve achieved"............
never read or heard him saying "i dont want to play for raith rovers"

I don't think anyone is expecting anyone to win any number of games now,
This league has shown us that everyone is capable of beating anyone now even more
So that points on the board are more precious!

We need mcgunr back in the sticks, mcneil hasn't done much wrong mind you,
But for some reason he doesn't show the confidence in his defence that mcgurn did and does!
Also 3 at the back would help, it helped us out of the 2nd div when we were struggling! We have wilson
And dyer who are pacy and like to travel forward!
With davo out for two games now is a good time to mix it up!
Also like to add, well done to management and players for better last seasons points tally,
With plent games to go! Well done, its all about the progress!

i doubt we will se johnny russel back, reports this week in the papers and from united fans forum suggest he was to be part of houstons pre season and next seasons squad until he got injured 1st week back and is out for minimum of 6 weeks!
we do have Weir, Tade, Graham, baird all strikers or attacking midfeilders who can play up front. my guess now is
weir will start with baird during pre season, Last term weir never got a chance to get back to full fitness, but the games he did play he played brilliantly without scoring. bring on pre season or at least the 1st 3 games then see where we are after that.also if u look at highlights and reports from cowden last season mcbride was almost playing as an attacking midfeilder behind a loan striker when he scored his goals, so who knows a 1 up top striker with a 5 midfeild! mcglynn will have a back up play if it doesnt work out, why else would he keep weir if wasnt planning on playing him or think he was capable, he punted wardlaw, hissy,bryce all for these reasons! couldve said the same to weir but didnt, give the team a chance then decide!

we just need someone who can and will lead the frontline for us, hold the ball up, move, and have a an eye for the goal... these type of players dont come for free... if you look at the majority of scores in 1st division they all seem to be sitting arround the 8,9,10,11 mark aprt from the likes of rooney... but even target men like bayne and kirk havent fired in loads of goals. most teams tend to pack the mifeild with attacking forwards and playt 1 up top! a very versatile team, and thats what john mcglynn seems to like and mainly works... but we do need someone whp can turn all our sitters/howlwers from last term into goals and points!

was told tonight davie mcgurn signed 2 year part time deal with us.
along with walker, ferry, d smith, davo, tade, sparky, wilson, murray, hill, some of wich were allready signed but the others have been signed on!
also told, john baird is a rover and will be confirmed after the play offs... weiry is of to ausie to join gary wales etc...

fitness levels of simmons and walker were great to see i thought simmons bossed the midfeild, davo may struggle to fit into that sqaud.. i think sloan will push walker for the other central midfeild position. still need 1 striker who is proven at scoring goals... bryce and graham will run down the clock for last 20 mins but wont get us the goals. and weir and tade will tire defences out with ther constant niggling and pace up front but again wont get us over double figures through the season. still loads of positives to take from first friendly, the boys do look really fit and up for it!

Pretty sure it was a provisional 1 year deal.. Either way as a player murray wont e enjoying what is goin on, as a first time manager he may want to re consider and walk an start again or stick with it and take two months away to do his coaching classes!
