  1. A good friend of mine recently graduated and gained her first job as a Physio at the age of 28, having worked in Mcdonalds for nearly 10 years from leaving School. She decided when we, those who went to Uni straight from School, graduated that she wanted to move into a professional career - as the only way to get more money or progress at Mcdonalds would be to move into a management position. She decided to better her career opportunities by moving into a highly skilled field, working full time at Mcdonalds to fund her university, while also doing physio placements on the side.

My biggest issue with this demand for £15 an hour for unskilled work, although we all know they'll get nothing near that, is that it surely de-incentivises people like my friend above from wanting to move into a skilled field to better their career opportunities?

There is also a distinct difference between hard work and skilled work. I've worked in retail, and customer service jobs and there's no doubting that sometimes it's not easy. However, the issue regards supply and demand is that for the most part unskilled can also be done by almost anybody.

  2. Is that genuinely the reason? Anyone have a link to these new rules?

Don’t have a word for word on the laws but it’s something along the lines of any contact with the attacking players hand or arm, accidental or not, cannot lead directly to a goal.

That’s why it won’t have been given, but as usual the pundits are so far removed from the actual rules that they’ll blame VAR.
  3.

    So here’s my two cents:

Ghost killed his dad when he was younger and doesn’t want Tariq to do something similarly stupid, that’s why he’s trying to protect him but also why he wants to make him see the consequences of his actions.

He also planned the shooting at truth and that’s why he phoned 2bit in prison, to set it up.

Spent the whole episode saying “nothing can stop me” and acting like more of a dick than usual, almost egging people on to try and kill him, but he was a step ahead as usual.

He told Ramona he’d meet her in an hour, because he knew what was about to go down. It’s the perfect plan from Ghost to as always be a step ahead.

The only people he hadn’t accounted for here were Dre and Sachs.

  4. Nonsense.  Morton had 10 players behind the ball every time we were in possession. What did you expect us to do with it?

I bet you're one of those people who boos when we pass it about at the back, and when we kick it long and lose possession.

We'll see plenty of teams like that at Dens this season. We just need to patiently break them down, even if it doesn't make for a good spectacle.

There was a boy behind me who done exactly that the whole game. Example of his shouts today:

Playing the ball across the midfield and moving Morton about: “get it up the fucking park instead of this sideways shite”

Dorrans plays ball over the top and nobody makes a run: “what the f**k are you just booting it up the park for !”

  5. I’m going to be Uber melodramatic and say it’s performances like that tonight from Ton that lead to grounds up and down the country being empty every week. Zero entertainment.

Never mind the price, there’s not a hope anyone’s going to watch that on BBC tonight and consider going along and watching, even if it was free at the gate.

Do you setup and play like that all the time?

  6. There’s a couple of great sections in a book called Outliers by Malcolm Gladwell that go a long way to explaining the circumstances by which some of the wealthiest people in history happened upon their wealth.

I can’t remember the exact stats but something like 40/75 richest people in history were born within 3 2 year periods.

  7. What arbitrary level of wealth is considered “enough” and who gets to decide and impose this limit on someone’s wealth?

For any wealth cap to exists it would require near worldwide support.

How, for example, do you cap Jeff Bezos wealth when he own $100bn worth of shares in the biggest company in the world?
