  1. Overall not a bad performance for pre-season in the 2nd half. Less said about the 1st the better [emoji849] Thought Kidd had a pretty poor game as has been mentioned and was rightly taken off at HT. Harris looked good, Austin came onto a game 2nd half and the defence weren't really troubled to comment on how they're progressing. Fairly confident I heard someone mention there was a closed doors game against Queens Park yesterday to which Craigen, Hippo and Watson played in and so sat out this evening...could be utter bs from an 'ITK' kinda guy however
  2. Season ticket purchased this morning, couldn't resist Essence of Loy! Amazing how one signing has totally changed my outlook on the season ahead...now just cover at LB and the squad looks pretty good!
  3. Where's the fun in that? If we don't keep suggesting ambitious targets people will begin to think Falkirk fans are sane, rational people. We can't have that!
  4. Nadir Ciftci too much of a long shot? Broadly reported he's surplus to requirements at Celtic but I really have no idea what these kinda guys would demand and what we'd realistically offer..
  5. Too busy doing his announcement photos at Benny T's
  6. I have a feeling we'll be going 3 at the back at the start of the season again going by the fact we have 4 CB's and have with Kidd still hanging around... It's just a gut feeling of course but it could work considering the players we have signed up already in terms of round pegs in round holes
  7. Baird would do a cracking job at Dumbarton and if there was a coaching role thrown into the mix then it's a no brainer for him imo. I'm not wholly sure how others view it but if Baird was going to stay at Falkirk something would have been sorted by now surely?
  8. Would have offered McHugh a contract over Baird but I'd wager he didn't want to play super-sub anymore at us. Good signing for anyone in this division imo
  9. What's the situation with Lewis Vaughan at Raith now they're relegated? I'd take a punt on him and Austin up top, he looked quite lively against us when he was at Dumbarton and his FM potential is sublime [emoji849] I kid about that last part...
  10. Can't really argue with who was released, maybe would have taken Bob over Baird assuming he's been offered a new deal. However, an agreement with Kidd to also terminate his contract would be nice as I don't see him doing anything for us. Going forward, surely we have to make a little better use of the loan system? Swansea staying in the PL means some of their youth prospects will be overlooked. After they've taken some of our talent recently they must have some faith/understanding of our set-up to help develop these guys in a first team environment
  11. In the queue and I'd be amazed if this didn't sell out today tbh I'd have stomached giving us 1,500 tickets if we'd given the same treatment to DU and left the half the north stand empty. But instead we shat the bed and it makes this all a little more annoying
  12. Cheers for the info...will have to somehow step out of the country and into my living room
  13. Bit of left field thinking but if Saturday is a sell-out in the Falkirk end (and it looks like it will) is there anything stopping Falkirk TV from streaming the game to U.K. based fans for a nominal fee in a one-time scenario? My knowledge of broadcasting rules is pretty grim
  14. Tough picks this season with nobody really standing out but overall Tommy T gets POTY just ahead of Sibbs, Hippo and Leahy Sibbs GOTS just ahead of Hippo's fk away to Raith
  15. Provided Hibs and DU do go up then I'd fully expect the club to finally put up the cash for a promotion push properly, regardless of who comes down. However, whether they will do the honest thing remains to be seen...cynic in me says there's something going on behind the scenes as others have suggested (board unrest) and that is where the doubt lies as to how we go about preparing for next season. Forever the eternal optimist but next season - should the 'bigger' sides get promoted - is where I'll judge Houston and the board. Then again maybe it's all too little, too late
  16. I agree a Dave King style statement would be too much, was getting ahead of myself there I think!
  17. There's little point in the BoD throwing money at this season though..... Personally, I'd like a bit of clarity as to what the board are up to. If, as I suspect they are, saving up for next season providing United and Hibs leave then say so; they have the Season Ticket money from this season, and with a statement as such would for next season likely garner a similar volume as this season?
  18. Vaulks is getting a regular game at Rotherham and played the whole game away to Newcastle last weekend. No chance of a loan I'm afraid. I'm more interested in what the club is playing at regarding Gallacher. What do we reckon? Board forcing Houston to play him to put in the shop window? Or merely a snowballing of a young talent being looked at by much bigger clubs?
  19. Overall we were pretty abject yesterday. Factoring out the defensive pairing cock up I was fairly happy with the line up and formation given it should have given Craigen an opportunity to show what he was all about..as it turns out he's pretty much up to feck all! However, if you were to bring back in Grant/one other at CB, Kidd at RB and Taiwo in for Craigen (Sibbs pushing further forward) it could, could work! I don't see Houston getting the sack nor walking away and a small part of me still thinks he'll come good this season. However the other 99% of me thinks he's lost the dressing room and, to an extent, he's losing faith in his own ability to fix it hence the constant chopping and changing
  20. Painful reading! I found it funny how he seems to have little faith in the loan system yet we have O'Hara out on a development loan. Is he not confident he'll come back a better player next season for having first team experience? Likewise for Rogers (although not Scottish) he's arguably improved as a keeper after playing first team with us
  21. Cheers! Looking forward to experiencing drink on the terraces, too young to remember it here
  22. Off to Berlin to see Hertha play Hamburg this weekend. First game outside of Scotland so hopefully it'll be the first of many!
  23. Ah thank you! Had a brief moment of panic but that's great news
  24. I'm sure this has been asked many times but is this the last season on Houston's contract?
