  1. A genuine wtf moment reading that post about the guy with the homemade Goodwillie lettering on his shirt.

Daft lad was in front of me as I was going out the ground with a couple of minutes left..it was masking tape on the shirt with Goodwillie 9 on it. I laughed thinking that his mates had stuck it on “kick me hard” style…..the boy was obviously a wee bit light in the heed…..you can’t possibly take an erse like this seriously he’s mair to be peetayd,,,,,,
  2. Here is the fix

John Sim has to pay Goodwillie has contractual wage in full.

Then the famous four have to be removed from the boardroom along with the management. As their actions have dragged our once proud club into the gutter. I include Mrs McCartney in this.

The following people have to be brought back

    Directors

    Bill Clark …………..chairman
    Val McDermid……Vice chair
    Andy Mill …………..supporters
Dave Hancock…….media and communications (vital role)

    Management ……Berra/McDonald

We can then put this awfull mess behind us and maybe get some kudos from learning from this and taking action promptly. if not the circus will continue and my team will become a pariah.

Also could the authorities make use of the Goodwillie windfall

  5. I thought the 3-5-2 was the right call last night to be honest. We won’t play a game with more balls fired into the box, in dreadful swirling conditions, and there are few more physical centre forwards than big Gozie. I reckon we’d have conceded a few more with only two centre backs. Tumilty scored, Dick nearly did twice. It was the right call.

I wouldn’t be considering it in the two home games coming though. Get back to the ball on the ground, get Ethan Ross and Aidan Connolly on the ball. Stanton had his best game for us by a distance last night, took parts of the first half by the scruff of the neck which we haven’t seen from him before.

I’ll say again that for all his faults, we really missed Ethon Varian last night particularly in the second half. Gullan does not make a good focal point, although he did have his best game since returning in fairness to him.

Reasons to be optimistic for me despite clinging on a bit in the end. Obviously we need to win the next two with no excuses just to keep in a decent top 4 position, but the damage wasn’t done last night.

  6. “First shalt thou take out the Holy Pin. Then shalt thou count to three, no more, no less. Three shall be the number thou shalt count, and the number of the counting shall be three. Four shalt thou not count, neither count thou two, excepting that thou then proceed to three. Five is right out. Once the number three, being the third number, be reached, then lobbest thou thy Holy Hand Grenade of Antioch towards thy foe, who, being naughty in My sight, shall snuff it.”

Away and rattle yer coconuts brave sir Robin ran away….etc..
  7. Well no, I'd much rather have progression in the Scottish Cup than one bog-standard league win with 15 games to go.
A win on Friday night would continue our progress out of the danger zone but we are no longer in must-win territory. On current levels of performance we should see off any two of the other sides in the bottom half regardless and will have plenty of chances to do so.

    A positive VT…I’m worried now.
  8. Responding to [mention=21558]RRFC2711[/mention]…on the Morton v Raith thread:
Congratulations on being there or watching on Raith TV, but that doesn’t make your view inherently correct or superior. We were, relatively, wretched today because we completely failed to execute our (usual) strategy against an opponent from several leagues down. A 0-1 victory in those circumstances, which it was until the death, is hardly a triumph.
Let’s look at what is really wrong with the Rovers right now. People constantly complain about pointless passing across the back repeatedly, and they have a point. The use of passing across the back is to move the opponents around and develop openings for the team to progress the ball forward into the opponents end. Then the point is to continue passing the ball around, again trying to pull the defenders out of position to allow a penetrating pass or a drive to the end line for a cross. We were consistently unsuccessful today/yesterday (and for the past few matches) in doing this until Banks O’ Dee HAD to press themselves for a tying score. Even when we had some small successes in this manner, we again lacked player either in position or skilled enough to make a chance count.
This is an aspect that Hendry’s loss magnified, Tait’s departure solidified and Spencer’s injury highlighted. All three of these players added connections that we are lacking recently, even if Tait fell off after October or so. Stanton shows signs of becoming  a very important layer for us, but needs more time to gel with the team, and to learn to anticipate things…we often fail to realize just how familiar with each other Hendry/Spencer/Matthews/Tait were, especially when playing in front of Tumilty/Davidson/Bene/KMac. Team chemistry is a weird one, it takes time and effort and can be easily upset by the smallest thing.
JMcG is hanging on to his pass it out strategy, and it will hopefully play better going forward, but lacking that killer touch up front, we will constantly be facing squeaky bum time the remainder of the season and will likely throw away more points to desperation goals. I wish JMcG would show some sign of adjusting this strategy a bit more, especially at the half when we are struggling. The problem with this is the team isn’t built to easily execute another strategy, so we look poised to have to ride this one out.
Perhaps we use more 3-5-2, but that weakens an attack that is already weaker than the Tories in Scotland…and one up top certainly isn’t working either…I just hope the bald Messiah has an answer. So you can be content with todays triumph, if you see it as that, but I don’t see it that way.

    Fkn hell neebur

    1) we need a striker
    2) McGlynn will fix it.

dae ye no get tae talk in the hoose….
  9. Might as well get this started while Morton play a little longer with St. J. Our form is stinking, and the Cup result was deceptive. With Morton’s form improving of late, this will be an interesting tilt. Not sure I’ll call for a Raith win, feels more like a draw to me…1-1.

I’m sick of this, did you actually watch the game we were totally in control and should have scored ten nothing deceptive about it.

Now Morton will be a different prospect all together 1-0 Rovers will do me fine.
  10. Geez! The Grill.
I remember it way back over 50 years ago when it was "MEN ONLY" on the signs on the door and in the window. I used to frequent the Short Mile up Great Western Road back then, but alas it's no more. The Kirkgate and the Prince of Wales were favourites as was the Marischal in its day. Saying nothing about the Blue Lamp![emoji44][emoji23][emoji23]
There were a fair few others in "student land" that I'll gloss over but they served a worthy pint in their day.[emoji481]
