  1. As Calderon said already, yes I would avoid them, especially the White Cockade, which is essentially a locals bar with very little, if any passing trade. It’s years since I’ve been in either but didn’t feel welcome and I would be surprised if they had changed any.
The only decent pub in Torry, Campbells, shut down a few years ago.
Loads of pubs, of all types, in the Guild street, Market Street area. From old school boozers - Old Kings Highway, Spirit Level, Snuggery, Market Bar, Aitchie’s etc to more upmarket e.g. Craftsman, CASC. You’re also a very short walk from one of Aberdeen’s best pubs - The Prince Of Wales.

Ah the auld pub crawl finishing up in the Metro with the cream of Aberdeen society…..those were the days…
  2. Seems there are a few things that are wrong with us just now but one thing that definitely needs changing is the apparent requirement to play it from left to right or right to left through every single defender. By the time the full back (or in yesterdays case 3rd centre back) has shifted it through all the other centre backs the opposition have closed down the space on the opposite side. Crisper passing, longer balls (let the ball do the work) and miss out Bene or/and Berra and switch it quicker, there is a serious lack of pace to our game these days.  On a good flat surface we need to be zipping passes across the park not Musonda-Berra-Bene-Berra-Bene-Dick, by the time Dick has the ball the opposition are on top of him, miss out 2 central defenders, get the thing thumped right over the top to Tumilty and spread it wide. Too fucking slow, too fucking predictable.  Also not happy with fullbacks playing right on the touchline, ok they're using the width but they are hemmed in, their only option is inside and the opposition know it and close the space accordingly.

Fks sake…hate to say it….but I agree with all of this……bugger!
  3. Every time I go to Starks’ Park I am amazed that cars are allowed up the street before a game. Pratt Street always used to be closed at Links Street before and after games, which was safe. Now, if you’re approaching the ground from the Beveridge Park end, getting across the road isn’t possible until you get to the bottom of the ramp, which is on a corner. There must be loads of near misses every week. It will unfortunately probably take someone being knocked down for it to change.

My sentiments exactly has our safety officer been informed of the danger ?
  4. Going on average points so far, we’d expect Arbroath, ICT and Killie to all end on 65 points. Let’s see how they sit currently…
Arbroath are getting 1.81 points per game to get the 27 more points to get to 65. For them, that’s something like 7 wins for 21 points, 6 ties for 6 points and 2 loses…or 8-3-4 even…no need for 9 or 10 wins…and they get to my 66-67 with another tie.
For ICT or Killie, you can do a variation on 8-6-2 or 9–3-5 and get to 66.
Now, how likely are those records…well Arbroath are sitting 10-8-3 right now, ICT 10-6-4 and Killie are 11-3-6. Just from that, Killie ending 9-3-5 looks quite possible, ICT could well do an 8-6-2 and Arbroath could see 8-4-3. Yes, it’s very likely that two of the three will fall off the pace, but with Patrick and Raith both pushing as well, we’ll likely see a nice tight race, and a low point league winner, I agree. The shocker to me is that someone is likely to take eighth with less than 33 points!
