  1. Even back in March 2020 the IFR was about a tenth of what the models had initially assumed making the UK and most other western country's response to it completely over the top. Only Sweden avoided going down that path. The SNP seemed to think being slightly more mental about it than Boris because we care more was a vote winning strategy after that and may well have been correct on that assumption up to omicron. Now that it really is in typical flu season territory on IFR, they'll be pigeonholed as a bunch of unelectable incompetents by the rational pragmatic portion of the electorate if they keep it up much longer.
  2. They also had the 5-5 format to reach 22 games last season: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2020–21_Scottish_Professional_Football_League
  3. An extra line is there by mistake would be my guess. There was a 5-5 split on how last season unfolded to reach 22 games so maybe they didn't take the line for that out.
  4. Definitely not impossible given there is no doubt now that London peaked on cases around Christmas Eve but we still need about 5 days of data with no lag and no holiday anomaly to be sure that's a real trend. What makes me a wee bit wary on agreeing with you is how much larger the new cases number is for Jan 2nd compared to Boxing Day exactly a week earlier.
  5. https://www.scottishjuniorfa.com/scottish-junior-cup/fixtures/ Saturday January 8th: Macron Scottish Junior Cup3rd Round Craigmark Burntonians 13:30 Auchinleck Talbot Station Park Macron Scottish Junior Cup4th Round Shotts Bon Accord 13:30 Rossvale Hannah Park
  6. Actually born in Ramelton rather than Milford from what I understand and I think there's a bit of an ongoing dispute between these neighbouring villages in Donegal over where he was from originally.
  7. Park's of Hamilton presumably whose owner Douglas Park didn't take the hint from the name his parents gave him about who he was expected to support.
  8. Ultimately the SNP have always been populists as well as nationalists. If the public mood has finally shifted towards rationality rather than visceral level panic they will coast whichever wave they think will take them to independence and the usual suspects on here will change their tune overnight to fall into line with it.
  9. The playing standard in the NCL is quite low as summer amateur leagues are the preferred format over most of its sparsely populated catchment. With Dundee area junior clubs now part of the equation in HL feeder terms there's not much likelihood of NCL clubs getting promoted so the NCL will probably trundle along doing its own thing for the most part. Main interest right now would be what happens with Fort William's full-time football experiment over the next few months as that's clearly aimed at avoiding falling through the trapdoor into the NCL (presumably anyway, they actually get to choose).
  10. Given the SPFL's internal voting structure it will be very difficult to move away from the current format as we have seen in recent seasons. The hope would be that as more clubs in the lower two divisions realise that there is an influx of clubs from the west approaching over the horizon that puts their future league status in jeopardy that they will see a benefit in implementing rule changes that would make it easier to be promoted back in. Time will tell basically
  11. ...or that Elgin get relegated and Bonnyrigg Rose promoted.
  12. ...but hopefully there will be a tipping point well before that once more former junior clubs work their way in and the bottleneck will be removed. Some posters on here seem to think the SFA have demanded that the LL come up with a solution to the issue in recent pyramid meetings but you are more likely to be in the loop on that than the people who have posted about it. Three is on the low side as an estimate for who is likely to be able to hang around at tier 5, in my opinion. Bo'ness United are having a very poor season by their standards but they should not be discounted. Definitely a bigger club than either Tranent or Penicuik over the years and only Linlithgow Rose from the EoS premier are likely to perform around the same level as them most seasons without somebody pumping money in a Darvel or East Kilbride sort of way. Berwick Rangers also probably have the support level needed to be able to hang around as well in the east.
  13. Why he is still being listened to rather than laughed at after his completely over the top modelling prediction in early 2020 is beyond me but I also feel the same way about Greta & Co in a yes it's a potential problem but do please try to get a grip with all the attention seeking apocalyptic stuff sort of way.
  14. Yes and Gretna winning yesterday means that Cumbernauld Colts getting relegated and potentially not being replaced through the playoffs by a WoS club is looking like a slightly more credible scenario again. A double relegation into the WoS should soon be mathematically impossible though, especially if Broomhill are classed as an EoS catchment team courtesy of playing in Alloa.
  15. As things stand right now in terms of the new rules no, but the old rules didn't stop them from trying to barge their way in last year with SFA help so time will tell.
  16. Think it's more like 15th tier where New Street FC is concerned. The Warrington & District League feeds into the Liverpool County Premier League which is 11th tier and has three divisions overall.
  17. I assume this would be New Street FC: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Andover_New_Street_F.C. From the tenth tier in England apparently.
  18. Vaguely remember Reporting Scotland doing the full address treatment complete with footage of his house to John Greig one time in the mid-70s, which seemed mental even at the time.
