I agree with that - but the great unknown for teams like Ayr United is injuries, especially to key players and positions. Would a Shankland, Doohan or Crawford calamity change anyone's view of our chances of survival in the Championship? Reckon so..

For what it's worth, I thought Doohan looked more than competent at Coatbridge on Saturday- he's incredibly young in goalkeeping terms but did what he had to do without any fuss and he looks the part. I can see why Celtic think he's worth a long contract because the potential is there and he's big and athletic. Whether or not he has the mindset to play in the position that garners the most criticism simply because an error can be costly only time will tell. I'm a very big fan McGuffie but even I know he does daft things at times - translate that to a goalie, well you know the outcome. Let's just give the young goalie a real chance by encouraging him as much as possible. Would love to see him flourish with us without him being too busy lol.

Would have preferred a big points deduction but, given there were suggestions that the SFL would bottle it, the furore by other SFL clubs in all this appears to have galvanised the SFL into showing some leadership at last. It sends a message to the rest of Scottish football (aye, including the self-protection cartel - we're watching you lot now). I genuinely hope Livvi survive all this and comeback as a serious football club but I have my doubts. Is the winner Massone, ffs?

Whatever is decided today will either confirm or otherwise the credibility of the SFL. They must not allow a precedent to be set and they need to demonstrate they are a serious football league once and for all. What I don't want to see is an SPL-esque judgement that stinks of protectionism while putting two fingers up to Scottish football and justice itself. A 15 point fine (plus an outright ban from the league, suspended for 5 years - activated if administration recurs in that timeframe).
