  1. I wouldn't be too upset if the interview short-list and subsequent appointment was one from :- 1. Sandy Stewart and Mark Kerr (makes sense but only with Kerr in the box seat if Stewart doesn't want the job - and that would mean a big step up for Kerr) 2. Owen Coyle but only if there is truth in him and Stewart having a good past understanding 3. Peter Murphy - the wild card selection and not without risk. Seems ideally suited for management from what I hear from players he's played with. 4. Stevie Farrell - doing well in difficult circumstances and could be a dark horse (and then I remember Neil Watt!) I'd be upset if any of this lot were on the short-list 1. Ally McCoist - oh f**k off. No really, just f**k off. 2. Yogi Hughes - think I'd be shocked if he was in the running. A loose cannon isn't what we need. 3. Dick Campbell - (see McCoist and Hughes comments!) 4. Martin Canning - terrible man, no charisma at all. 5. Jim McIntyre - what has he done to deserve any genuine consideration? And look at the number of clubs he's failed to improve. It'll probably be none of the above so ignore me you wish.
  2. Going to this one for sure - always enjoy a day in the Kingdom and some good bants with the Fifers. Black and white heaven.
  3. I'm only liking the idea of a Stewart/Kerr partnership. The media can gettae.
  4. You again. FFS, stop coming on here and talking shite. We know you're on the wind-up and it's fucking boring. Get a life, you dick/fanny
  5. His link up play with McCowan and The Moff is worth the entrance money alone. Well done, Alan
  6. The difference (for me at least) this season versus last is, in order of importance - 1. Alan Forrest has been absolutely superb and has managed to avoid injury so far. He missed a large part of the last two seasons and on reflection, we've missed him. Look out against the hammer throwers, wee man. 2. Luke McCowan continues to suggest he should have been playing in the first team long before he was introduced late last season - a real handful for any opposition defence. 3. Stephen Kelly is a big improvement on Robbie Crawford even though Robbie had some great games last season. Kelly is just far more consistent and a much bigger goal threat. A wonderful prospect. 4. Danny Harvie has discovered what confidence can do when added to a player's obvious potential. He's destined for even more success.
  7. Aye, and especially don't listen to Falkirk fans. They're bitter that their club got a snake instead of a football manager from Morton and then had to watch their team get relegated for being shite.
  8. ....I think we should be thankful for not having to play 'balloon' football in Arbroath for once. Been there when the corner flags have been almost horizontal at times.
  9. Dick Campbell is a legend tells it the way it is, I am sure he will keep you guys up this year Leg-end? Nah, sorry, bell-end is nearer it. Talks tripe mostly and his invading of the pitch at Somerset a couple of seasons ago was an absolute disgrace and set a terrible example to others....even if the ref that provoked it was a disgrace as well. Don't like the man, never have. Sorry, Lichties, but I think you could do better
  10. Have I not told you already - gettae ffs! As for another Killie scum (Fat Sally), that useless p***k is too busy on the swallie. And besides, he's a c***.
  11. Don't know if anyone predicted that or better still got odds on it but I doubt we'll have a more difficult sequence of games AND get 9 from 9 while a scoring 9 and conceding 1. Well done lads - you've taken years off me
  12. Haven't you Killie scum got anything better to do? And leave your sister / brother / dad alone
  13. F*ck me, more clubs than.....you know the rest, according to his wiki page.
  14. Having briefly chatted to the guy in the hospitality suite a couple of times when he played for us, I'd not be too fussed if Peter Murphy got the job. He spoke very well and put me in my place a couple of times when I expressed a view about one or two players. It'll depend on how he interviews and if he can assemble his own coaching staff. As some have said on here, Murphy's done well at Annan but is that enough and what have we learned regarding the appointment of McCall and if that process worked (plainly for some it did but McCall, even in his time at Ayr, had his detractors on occasion). I hope Cameron spreads the net wide and takes plenty of advice from others at the club including, dare I say it, some of the senior players.
  15. Got there 3mins before kick off after a night in the capital and a big sleep lol. Glad I didn't miss that performance in the first half. In all honesty, we could have scored six or seven but I'll take that all day long. Did make we wonder how we'd have done last season if wee Forrest hadn't got injured.
  16. Hand in the air here - guilty of thinking we would suffer badly when losing players of the quality of Shankland, Smith, Crawford, Rose and McDaid. Long way to go this season obviously but if we can keep Forrest, Kelly and McCowan fit then I could be persuaded to join you in feeling very good about our heroes. I do worry that injuries (like last year) will catch up with us but Saturday was a massive confidence boost on that score too - no Murdoch, McGuffie, Adams, Bell, Moore or Ross and a bench that was 2 short of the usual number had me worried sick before kick-off against the free-scoring unbeaten league leaders (lest we forget!). I don't wish to feel that worried again but getting a few of them back soon will be very important - winter in these parts doesn't help our exciting style sadly. Stay fit, lads, and keep up that smile/style of football.
  17. Apologies - guilty of joining dots and getting the wrong answer. AUmedia probably dodged a bullet as that p***k would have made no sense at all.
  18. Any co-incidence that Wuffsters's post match vid', which usually involves both managers, didn't include any commentary from that jambo p***k? Or does Arab TV not allow him that? Whatever, he's a dud and will be sacked soon enough.
  19. Not predicting anything for this - I'm too long in the tooth as an Ayr United fan to be doin anything else . If all those heroes from yesterday are fit then I'd stick with that though I see the argument for giving Houston a run out - it'll depend on how he's looked in training and I'm certain McCall will know one way or the other. Let's get up to Alloa in numbers again and hope for another solid performance.
  20. Dancin down the Somerset Road....to see the Ayrshire Aces. Great game, could have gone either way but I'm off tae the pub for a jar or ten
  21. I think we were a wee bit lucky but only because Thistle are in a bit of turmoil with their management team. Looked like Caldwell had decided that the tactics should be to kick lumps out of us as we're young, wee and lightweight, especially up front. It could have worked but the red cards did for them. Thought we scored three very good goals (four if you include Forrest's disallowed effort which was a disgraceful decision imv). Onwards to North Wales and a game against our celtic cousins.
  22. May I remind you that we are Ayr United - take a draw and be thankful
  23. I take consolation from the fact that similar performances in the past have meant dropped points. A little more steel in this team and ,of course, a very good keeper meant we took the points. Hard luck Queens - we played similarly well at Dundee last week, missed some chances and got nothing so what goes around comes around.
