    Hard to say as a new head coach is coming in but if I presume it's continuity then he's probably got a very good chance of at least starting the season as first choice on the right.  New coach I'd say is likely to move Metcalf into the centre which opens up that slot for him.  He was behind Metcalf in the pecking order last season then got injured for pretty much the whole thing so never really got to see him.  

    He was only able to get on the pitch 4 times for St Pauli last season as he got injured early and only returned on the final day, came on about 80 minutes, got the assist to win the league and got subbed back off for a defender all in the space of about 10 minutes :lol:

    Depending on the next 2 signings, I would reckon we could give the top a run for their money, but think it will be a 2 horse race at the top between Thistle and Raith this year.

    Think your expectations are a little high on the current squad! 

    Still got a terrible right back and only have two centre backs on the books.  Rus and Walker unproven at this level as well.

    Football fans have this mindset that progress is just a diagonal line that only goes up the way and anything else is total failure.  I think our squad is roughly where we belong with the ability in it.  

    It feels like some people believe we should be a top European side despite only really having 3/4 good players to pick from.  

    I do think Clarke is too negative but also don't think that with the handbrake off it gets all that much better on the day.

    Ultimately it's the players that failed, nobody could say seriously that we didn't take our best available squad to the tournament.  Hickey and Dykes are absolutely huge losses to how we play but it was hardly some part timers replacing them.  Every one of those players failed big time through either not showing enough in training to get on the park or performing terribly while on it.  

    The managers tactics were too door and negative, but that doesn't necessarily translate into not being able to shoot or pass the ball forward.
