We last won a cup in 1988!
Let that sink in and then think it's ok to approach Tuesday night like we did!

I think outwith the normal starting 11 there are only a few more who add much to the team. To compete even at mid level in the Lowland league we need about 5-6 new players.
Having a big squad creates bad results like last night. Getting the balance is key. I would say we need 3 good lowland league players and letting go about 6 or 7.

No wonder we never win a cup. 7 changes from the lineup that beat Dundonald. Let's hope we can learn not to keep making this mistake. Disrespect our opponents, win zero prizes.

Well done to Glenrothes tonight. But a woeful and gutless performance from Broxburn.
That’s now two cups they had a great chance of winning gone by the wayside to relegation strugglers (who thoroughly deserved both victories).
Winning the league will paper over some of the cracks but they have let what could have been a great season slip from their grasp.
Yeah, well done to Glenrothes, tactically spot on. Good luck to them in the next round. Strange team selection from us, could be injuries, work or suspensions? We seemed to turn up tonight for a preseason friendly and forgot it was a cup tie.

We only need to win 3 off our 5 games if Mussleburgh win all theirs. So obviously we'll beat Dunbar and Jeanfield, lose the rest and Mussleburgh will drop points somewhere to win us the league.

It's also worth noting that Mussleburgh lost on Saturday in the cup. All good runs come to an end eventually like ours has. If we get a result on Saturday then it will lift us no end. Lots of experience in the team which makes the difference.

It seems that teams take goals of us early and then sit back to let us back into the game. It's not really us playing better after going behind but a change of tactics by our opponents that's helped us
Imo our problem in the last 2 games is that the stickers are off the boil. Scoring easily earlier in the campaign but have dried up a little. Too often our strikers get the ball with their backs to goal and need 3 or 4 touches before they're ready to turn or shoot, by then the defenders tackle them. They don't make a decent shot or lay off the ball to a better placed teammate. They also have low anticipation of where the ball might break from or where a teammate will pass it too. Almost watching the ball at times than being ready to pounce on a chance. Frustrating watching them. Just shoot!

What's going on at Broxburn?
Feeling the pressure? Crapped the bed? Even when they have been getting results recently, it's kind of sneaking over the line and comebacks.
Can they be caught?
I think so. A big possibility but also in our hands. Hard games against jeanfield and Dunbar coming

Ooofft well worked out. And feasible that they may drop some points in those games. Broxburn have only one league match before the trip to Jeanfield... so it is a case of reaching business end of the season.
Don't forget about Mussleburgh. I think Broxburn will win the league when Jeanfield and Mussleburgh are playing each other 27th April.

First half we where misplacing so many passes and we looked to be missing Turner. Luckily Bremner and Nimmo came on to change things. Nimmo is our super sub. Still a decent starter but much more effective as a sub, he gets us more points and goals this way. Well done Brox.

Any truth in the rumour that Max Christie returning next season ?
The fans are more than happy with our present management team who are already building for next season.

Mussleburgh where a good team today. Solid in defence and battling in midfield. So I'm very happy to deny them 3 points. We may of drawn today but it feels like a win.

Lol. Only the Glenrothes fixture was posted for March on the Broxburn website untill I complained!
Obviously they listen to me, only took them about 1 hour to sort it. Well done chaps. Comedy timing

Squeezing in 5 games this February and we only have 1 game scheduled for March. Unless we beat Tranent but that looks unlikely after the last match. Doesn't seem well planned out

We just keep grinding out 3 points. Brilliant team effort. And fair play to Penicuik, who after the start they had to this season seem to be going in the right direction. Pies were crap though.

Absolutely brilliant to get 3 points of that Sauchie lot. They have always seemed to give us the hardest games over the years. I'm never confident playing them but we did what was needed.

Great to get 3 points first of all. Tynecastle worked hard and where quite decent, but I think we made our own problems. Giving a penalty away just inside the box was a bit careless. Got back into the game and totally switched off for their second cause decisions went against us. Ref wil never change their minds. Thankfully we had enough in the tank to win it eventually but let's be a bit more switched on in these key moments. Onto a tough test on Friday. Curious as to why this game is a Friday?

I appreciated the Buckie players clapping our support. Shows a bit of class imo. Bookie ls had it right to make them favourites.
We have to remember what we where doing last season. Scrapping to avoid relegation! What a turnaround. Even if we don't quite get promotion or get a cup final, we have a side that make you want to watch them.

Hard lines broxburn. A strange and hard way to lose. I always thought it was going to be against us. A better quality team than we normally play. Our support today was unbelievable, a gate of over 1,000! Us going out is the Scottish Cup 4th round loss. Still much to play for this season

I was at Bo'ness v Buckie several seasons ago and Buckie brought down 6 buses plus folk in their own cars........
Bo'ness must be a better draw, it must be us lol. That's amazing for that game considering the distance. I think they only have 1 bus coming looking at their Facebook page.

We're underdogs for this tie according to the bookies. Hopefully the large support will help us.
How good is the social media been driving up the interest. Probably a jump of 3 times as many supporters than normal which is great. But had me thinking, how do the club's around us get the local community supporting them in these ties yet the Highland league teams don't seem to generate any extra interest! If this tie was reversed I think we'd take at least 4 buses up.
Safe travels to the Buckie fans who do make the trip

Broxburn 3 Auchinleck 0. Didn't expect that result today. I thought it would of been tighter. Well done everyone.
And best of luck to Auchinleck for the rest of the season, without a shadow of doubt the best fans we've had here for a few years.

5-0. So good to mainly get the 3 points but also give a bit of confidence to the players coming back from injury or been sitting waiting for a chance. Errol back with 2, Nick Locke scoring a cracker. Brilliant
Next league game is bottom of the table Kinnoull so hopeful of getting more points and keeping it going.

Their third goal was all down to the referee. I hope Shegs injury isn't a bad one. Speedy recovery. When he went down injured in his own half, the ref played on for quite a while and stopped it just outside our box. On the restart it looked like he told our player he couldn't go in for the restart, so their player could just set up the goal! Luckily it wasn't costly.

Congratulations to everyone. It's been a rollercoaster of a season. At last a bit of cheer.
But let's keep an eye on the prize, we keep going until we are in the lowland league. And hopefully that means building our confidence in our last 2 games by not putting out weakened teams, then we can be properly prepared for Creetown or Dalbeattie. They will be playing more meaningful games in their preparation for us
