  1. Agree. Although not the bit about EK. They were not that good against us in the play-offs. I think if they were as good as some think, then they would have made the step up by now. I thought Cove would have seen us off, but again, they never threatened in the "home" match at Inverurie. They were looking good in the second leg, but good old "Harvest Swann" was on song that day and saved us. He was a really good player when he put the effort in. Then of course Cove lost the plot and it was game over. I think it is hard to predict this time. The likely teams are all similar in standard. None of them stand out.
  2. No surprise to see Bonnyrigg at the bottom. I thought they would struggle. We were poor last season and the play-off score flattered them. I am sure the bookies had them as favourites for the title, but that was way off the mark. Going to be close between them and the Wee Rovers. Advantage definitely with Rovers though. Bonnyrigg only have four home games left and they have to go to Cliftonhill later this month. Lose that and it will be hard to avoid bottom. Brechin looked like they might have a decent chance of coming back up, but they are stuttering slightly just now and they have some tough games coming up, Fraserburgh twice, Brora and a possible winner takes all away day to Buckie on the last day of the Highland League campaign.
  3. Poor today, but some good individual performances. I thought Young was very good. Only 17 and played like an experienced pro. If he plays like that every week he will do well in the game. Shame he is a townie player . He didn't put a foot wrong and was even directing some of the older players. It was funny when Sinclair shouted that we need to use the ball better when his touch and control are awful most of the time, even more so today. How did he miss that chance?
  4. Probably not worth it. We aren't pushing for promotion or at risk of relegation.
  5. Maybe Rie is still over there. She can cheer him on.
  6. We need to beat them to keep our ridiculously slim hopes of finishing top alive . A defeat and top of the league will be numerically out of reach (although, just to be a pedant, it is almost certainly already numerically impossible, as the teams near the top still have to play each other and they can't all pick up no points).
  7. I see young Ryan One scored the winner for Hamilton tonight. Can we make a cheeky offer to Hamilton and get him on loan for next season (or now if it is permitted) . I am sure Armand will put in a good word.
  8. With the Rangers 1st team not playing until next Sunday, maybe attract a bigger crowd for the match against the B's on Saturday.
  9. One of the bonuses from being in the Lowland League is more Edinburgh away days . Early train and in the pub already.
  10. He would bang the goals in at our level, but we probably can't afford him and he would need a job up here to keep himself busy and afford to live here.
  11. Disappointed. For me, he was our best player. Don't know why he didn't get more appearances.
  12. They probably have a lower turnover than the likes of Cowden. Most of the students will be there for 3 or 4 years.
  13. I agree. If you had said years ago that we could look into the future and that we would have a match in early January 2023 against them, most fans would be thinking great, it must be Scottish Cup 4th round. Easy win and possible money spinner in next round. Erm no, you are already out the cup and it's a Lowland League match
  14. Hopefully the Uni will have their mind on the match next week when they play Dundee United in the cup and we can shock them. Crazy, we are hoping to get a shock win against a Uni team .
  15. He looked like he had found his level, near the bottom of Lowland League. Poor decision making most of the time. Only alright in a few games . Maybe he just didn't fancy playing for us. As you will know, some players raise their game to the level they play at.
  16. Not surprised. I think the Highland League (at the moment anyway) is definitely an easier league to win.
  17. They don't get a choice. They are North of the Tay.
  18. The only bonus is we will hopefully have another Saturday game in maybe March in better weather.
  19. To be fair to them, the Dumbarton game is also off and a lot of the other games are on plastic pitches (which I don't like personally). In the old days it would definitely be on and if it meant a mud bath, then so be it. Think it has been wet down there for days. Maybe we will have improved by the time it comes around.
  20. It's an easy drive and usually the road is not busy. Only annoying if it is heavy rain, but I think it is meant to be light rain, if any, tomorrow on the way down. Meant to be windy down there though. There aren't any awkward junctions and as others have said only a few roundabouts and you just skirt the edge of the built up areas.
  21. I see Gianni Infantino has proposed that each country should name a stadium after Pele. Cape Verde were the first to re-name their national stadium. Should Cowden offer to re-name Central Park as maybe Pele Central Park? Or Central Pele Park etc?
  22. Probably a silly question, but if Uni of Stirling were to win the league, are they able to be promoted (if they were to win the play-offs of course)?
  23. Good luck to both of them. How Bisland is at Dundee United is a mystery. He is poor for Lowland League level. He should have been cruising at this level.
  24. Is that Kohaku Kamaboko on the left? I worked for a Japanese company many moons ago and spent time in Fukushima. I liked the salmon and tuna sashimi, but not the wasabi. I have to confess, I ate McDonald's a few times in the centre of Fukushima, even though I never eat it in Scotland.
  25. When you play Uni of Stirling at Forthbank, there is no catering, no tannoy, no stewards and no turnstile in use (just a group of what look like 1st year students taking cash at a table). Totally different from playing Stirling Albion there.
