Gallacher has potential I think. I would have liked to have seen more of Mahon to this point as well.

He was doing some kind of training at the back of the East stand pre game on sat. Then he wandered across the pitch and up the tunnel before kick off. Don't know what's going on there.

I like Cleary, I think he looks pretty solid and has a bit of dig about him. For me, Butterfield seems to fade out of games when he starts. He is good early on, wants the ball etc but 2nd half (recent United game for example) I thought he looked like he ran out of steam. I do think there is some promise in Hallberg alongside him providing the legs. Of what I have seen of Hallberg he is very tidy on the ball and wants to get forward.

We're sticking with Davidson. I don't think there are any questions over that. Wouldn't surprise me if he has been told he is the man to bring us back up if we go down.

We were decent for the first 35mins or so. Losing the soft pen hurt us no doubt. From that we never recovered, which is really disappointing. 2nd half was more of the long punt and chase. When we tried to play thru midfield in 1st half we looked much better. Hallberg was a big miss in the midfield. I think that if we can make it into the playoff spot that we have enough to stay up. Not sure what I'm basing that on exactly, maybe blind faith!!!

I felt we were a lot better today until Hallberg got sent off. His legs in midfield were helping us get in and around the box to support May and Hendry. I think Crawford should bury his chance. I agree that playoff looks like its where we will end up. But if we can play with the energy shown in last couple of games, adding in a couple of the new faces getting game time, I'm feeling confident that we can stay up thru the play offs. I certainly didn't think that a few weeks ago.

Think you're probably right about Muller and Ambrose. What's the limit on loan signings? Reading a few articles saying Jamie Walker would be a loan (aye another one!). I think he'd be a decent pickup but if we're keen, get him signed permanently. Few Hearts fans I know rate him. I wonder if MacPherson will be around with us til end of season, now he is out for a bit. Maybe wishful thinking that he will be off eh......

I'm in the same camp as you with this one about the motherwell game. CD said a couple of weeks ago that they were reviewing everything to get the team playing better and winning points. I'm still seeing the same formation game after game (I know it's not as straightforward as just switching formation), but something has to give. Surely different personnel in a system that is not working won't make a difference?! I was encouraged by Devine, Butterfield and Viv last night but if they are just slotting into a failing system and team instruction, are things going to get any better?
