also it would spoil the effect of opening the whole thing if half of it was already covered in a thick layer of seagull shite. -

Every chance the current goalkeeping coach is funneling academy money to her now tbh, -

I don't read it as anything except completely sincere. Just shows the owner's happier taling about stuff he knows. That said, I know a Charlie Johnson who has gone to Ayr games for the last 35+ years who isn't that guy. And who has paid for the privilege. -

Being safe with games left would be an excellent end to the season. It removes the incredibly common excuse that the reason Ayr have been utterly lackadaisical during the transfer window is because of end-of-season exhaustion (never mind that Hopkin, Duffy and Bullen all unceremoniously fucked off on holiday at the first opportunity). Give the youngsters a run out, get every single target on a PCA and get players who are surplus to requirements out the door immediately. What will actually happen of course is that Ayr will release Ahkeem Rose from his contract the day after they finish the season in ninth, he will immediately sign for Accies, and will score seven goals in the playoffs. -

It's still... fairly ridiculous from first principals? Unless the entire area is classified as brownfield or something then you couldn't possibly value even the earth the ground is sitting on at that. Indeed it's not as if the site wasn't surveyed within the last 30 years for the explicit purpose of making a fortune on it to relocate elsewhere! -

Tangible assets of less than 700k total (and down from last year) when that includes the entire ground remains deeply suspicious to me. You could bulldoze the lot and put it at auction and get ten times that without breaking a sweat. -

It's going to be extremely odd not feeling roughly as exposed as someone whose commanding officer has just forced at bayonet point to exit his trench on the Western Front. -

I'm sure the prestigious position as the head of the Under-21s division of the sixth tier of Scottish football a) requires someone's full-time commitment and b) pays accordingly. -

The problem here is that a random number generator has absolutely nothing on Scott Brown's teamsheet pencil. -
Playing on different days has a habit of coinciding with this. Obviously it's happened a few times this season in the top flight as well. The only real pity is that (as with the top flight) the rest of the division are all either total pish or even bigger bottle merchants, so there is zero chance of a third party sneaking in.

What has been learned from the recruitment strategy is nothing. The usual thing has played out: a rookie manager who spent lots of time in the English lower leagues fucked things up by believing that English lower league jobbers would automatically be better than Scottish Championship players, and then he was replaced by a rookie manager who spent lots of time in the Scottish Premiership, who believes that any random loanees retrieved from the top flight will automatically be better than Scottish Championship players. It is correct that the _owner_ has focussed his attention on the new stand, and that will change once it's finished. Given that right now he's likely to be inaugurating it with a matchday 1 home league defeat to Kelty Hearts, that doesn't really bode well for anyone on the current coaching staff. Stanger on left wing, McGinty in nets. -

An alternative reading is that people try to experiment in this league all the time. It typically leads to the end of their careers. I haven't watched the post-match yet but Brown has been pretty straightforward thus far. Presumably someone will be able to confirm whether a) he blamed a darts-board selection and a dogged determination to stick with a strategy he didn't have the players for on a sudden injury crisis, or b) he didn't. -

Picking Ayr United for that purpose is an incredible move considering Ayr's incredibly successful record of ensuring that any manager they sack for the last two decades has either been forced out of the business altogether or has managed about two seasons in League Two before ending up in the juniors. -

I think "demanding communication" is a wild overreading of _trying to be polite_ about the situation. If I pished on the floor in McDonalds and the staff said "excuse me sir, can you explain why you have pished on our floor" the right avenue for discussion would not be about the temerity of McDonald's to demand answers about my toilet habits. -

This is a totally normal reaction to someone saying that it's weird that the home team warmed up in front of the away fans.
