Can this thread be locked please? Berwick Rangers are no longer an SPFL League 2 club and their fans should be making use of the Lowland League forum.
Thanks.0 -
I hope Drifter is OK, he's not posted about next season's strips in the last 4 hours.

Well that would be real retro from 69 as they wore white or blue socks back in the day happy with that. A traditional look once more.
We played in white socks a few times towards the end of last season.

Colour of socks?
The all important question. White.

Also, any news yet on the much-anticipated home shirts?
I noticed the other day that Cefn Druids in the Welsh Prem have produced some bespoke Errea shirts for this season and released some images for pre-purchase (the away top being pretty stunning as shirt designs go).
Any chance Cowden could do something similar to this, to build up some interest before the (estimated) release date? Surely Errea have the images for the final design, if not quite the final product yet...
The new home shirt is worth the wait!!!

Greg did OK at Killie, but you are correct, he didn’t look fit. He also didn’t look interested. That is where the manager should have stepped in. He didn’t.
Did OK? Greg was brilliant for Killie - Player Of The Season candidate in the first half of the season.

Excellent to see Greg Stewart get his dream move to rangers, a player that I always knew would go on to play at a high standard.
He's no Andy Russell.

Have you still got Tam O’B? Well Deas is much, much, better. Was hoping we’d get him back again, you won’t be disappointed.
I think you're being harsh on TOB. Without a doubt the best part timer defender in Scotland.

It's hardly likely to be the latter. Too healthy.

I'd probably just give a 6 figure salary to Harvey Swann
We should ask Stevie G what that would be :

I've never listened to The Terrace podcast because I'm not really interested in any Scottish leagues other than the one we are in. I've never watched the TV show either.
The podcast covers the lower leagues as well. Shaughan and Andy are Raith fans and Craig is obviously a Stenny fan so you get informed opinions.

Anyway, it's been a while since there was a bit of needle between Stenny and Cowdenbeath - who could forget the 2005/06 season? - so it's nice that Harvest Swan has brought both clubs together like this.
Amazing season under Mixu - some of the best football I've ever seen in the lower leagues. It was so tight though, we only won the league on goal difference (a good 20 goals better off though) and Stenny were only 3 points behind.
That Stenny team with Cramb and McGrillan up front were scoring for fun - I think our best win was 6-0 and yours was 7-0 or 7-1.

Your club did rather well out of Greg, receiving quite a few cheques in respect of cross border deals.
Over £10k in total so definitely a decent return.

The whole compensation aspect is largely irrelevant here, yes in the normal course of events where a player who at that ge group has been offered terms and his contract has expired is free to join another club, whereby the the recruiting club will initiate a discussion around any compensation agreement. We have been through that journey quite frequently most memorably recently Greg Stewart.
Greg was 24 when he left Cowdenbeath for Dundee. We never got any development fee for him but have subsequently had solidarity payments.

29 league starts in two full first-team seasons for a bottom-half side isn't a huge amount. In any case, it's not as if he was a key player for Cowdenbeath or even particularly highly thought of by the manager, so that should figure in limiting the amount of compensation due.
He was our Player Of The Season in the 2017/18 season, scoring 2 goals against Cove to keep us in the League.
I'd say he's been an important player for the club and that should be reflected in the compensation figure.

ETA: it's a terrible oversight from Stenhousemuir, but given Swann's lack of appearances over the past two seasons it's hard to imagine that a tribunal would rule in favour of awarding Cowdenbeath a large fee for a player who isn't exactly a young pup. Perhaps Stenny just don't feel it's worth the risk.
Swann played 28 games last season.

Josh Peters signed.
I thought he might have ended up at Cowden as Bollan was his manager when he had that good season at Forfar.

It's August in Scotland so it probably won't rain for 22 weeks and so the pitch will be very dry.
Absolutely no way of preventing this. None.
