I know the playoffs were a step in the right direction, but (in an ideal world) I wonder if it's time to push for a guaranteed promotion place for the Highland/Lowland winner. Would love to see bottom of League 2 relegated and then second bottom in a playoff with the Highland/Lowland loser. Looking at clubs like EK, Spartans, Kelty, BSC, these are sides in the Lowland that seem to have real ambitions of gaining league membership and pushing onwards and upwards (and of course Cove have harboured league ambitions from the Highland for years, presume there are others). Deck seems massively stacked against them right now unless the pyramid is opened up a bit more.

Agree with this, EK are good enough to win this one but they have to play to their strengths here rather than worrying about Cove.

I'm still wondering about this.. it's the community trust who are developing the ground (same as who own K-Park) and want it as a community hub for all sorts of sports both indoor and outdoor so I presume it might get built regardless of league status of the prospective tenant club. They were planning numerous phases so an East Fife/Dumbarton style single stand thingy may be all they ever get to with this rather than the mooted three or four sided arena.

Thought it was a great performance from EK, could and probably should have won by considerably more given the number of good chances they created and spurned, particularly in the first half when the game could have been put to bed rather than just the 1-0 lead. Gretna caused a few problems going forward but as said above that was a solid performance on the whole from the defensive line.
