  1. Aye. We thought we were signing an spl defender, hero, leader of men and demi god. (like an uber andy graham) instead we got out the sort of performances taggart (with the greatest of respect) could give us already, but for more money. No wonder value for money becomes a consideration.
  2. Club wont comment so its left in doubt and we dont look worse by confirming it. Mair says he talked to the Secretary, does he mean Proph or Antonia? Proph left in january. I'd like to think that the club made that contract as a test, though I wonder if Wilson could have the same type. Cant say I agree with it, get the second year after starting about 15 games?
  3. Ok. Who would we sign from other teams? jordan white, ryan mccord, ben gordon, big grizzly cb from cowden...
  4. I'm going to take a stab in the dark and suggest that the club board are either stalling on contract talks or aren't offering decent/improved terms until the playoffs are sorted. I was going to suggest that we may have lower attendances next season, but with the potential of local teams Morton and St Mirren come the potential full away ends. With our limited capacity bums on seats doesnt matter too much, though perhaps ticket prices and the Cat A games would be affected.
  5. a manager always has license to come out and slate the players. Not many players will perform the reverse and publicly criticise a manager. So perhaps a realistic assessment and some straight talking, but theres a lot of ego and differing opinions in a dressing room.
  6. Hmm. How did we finish last season and when do we normally start contract talks? I remember the players all resigning after murray signed the new contract last summer. Perhaps there is some disquiet over new contracts or bonuses. Wasn't at alloa or cowden so cant comment too much on them. What I do know is that the team put in a great performance against hibs and that players like to know whats on offer or sign up before hitting magaluf.
  7. Lets not forget the rise in season ticket prices that we were hit with last close season. I would guess that the additional income from that went towards the playing staff and manager. At the time I felt a bit disappointed that the extra cost to me wasnt directly linked to better players signing. Personally, if we applied the argument made justifying last years rise theres no requirement for another rise this year; the same number of big teams and Cat A games will remain. The notion of full time football should be discarded. I think at some point Murrays ambitions may out grow DFC, thats fine. We should not risk our clubs finances or future for any individual. If Murrays remit was to keep us in the league then he's/we've succeeded. Aye the means hasnt been particularly pretty but its still job done.
  8. honestly, i checked the twitter feed on wednesday to ensure findlay was playing before deciding to go. Aye, i was in the middle of something, but its not the first time this season the game has dropped out. I was happy with our efforts on Wed night, but in far too many other games we've been set up really reaaly cautious, almost fearful by the manager. Get about the players again this week, set them up to have a go and see what we get against rangers.
  9. Organisation, motivation and selection are all mainly managerial issues, are you suggesting the management is an area needing a hard decision? I never made it today, but you do wonder if a loanee can fully commit this close to returning to his parent club. For me this season the players we've signed on loan have improved us. I think we ve had rogers, mcdonald, findlay, easton, kane, petrie and duggan in on loan. I'm not against using the loan system, but what does this number of loanees say about the original/current squad or our lauded ydi?
  10. Was there not fighting or an assualt at D.East that day Moonster? the 4-1 game at the end of last season?
  11. Hmm. I think there might be some personality issue with Mair as well as his form. He's older than Muzz, perhaps he's overstepped the mark at some point. How's the players end of season bonus calculated? was there not an issue before where the players were in dispute with the board, was that years ago? Not meaning to suggest anything, i've only seen the cowden highlights and it didnt look like we'd chucked it as others have suggested.
  12. Lee mairs twitter feed shows linton before and after 3 weeks of that herbalife crap. In the conversation linton says he s in the gym for 4 -5 hours a week. Whats his injury?
  13. I think kings said somethings that contradict each other, perhaps being deliberately so in order to influence the egm resolutions. The silence since then re funding suggests he's expecting someone else to stump up some cash. My guess just now is some sort of bluff going on between him and the other friendly investors, see who can wait the longest before stumping up. I think if he was 100% honest and was loaded in the way that was suggested he'd have settled the ashley/sd loan to regain all the securities and reduce mash's influence. So, no admin. I dont expect the next 5mill from ashley to be needed as the 3 bears and king will stump up once they can reach agreement.
  14. It may have been on PnB, but I read that one of ashleys companies owned another of his money, ashley co #1 forces admin upon ashley co#2, which then sells its assets to ashley co#3 and keeps trading. He's a shrewd guy it seems and knows how to play the system. He seems to hold as security all the major assets of rangers, so how and why would a normal lender loan further sums to rangers? answer being that most wouldnt, forcing an appeal for more funds from mash/sd/ashley. As for king, perhaps he benefits somehow from not installing a nomad and being delisted? it was only after the postal proxy votes were in that he said he wouldnt be putting up the £20mill himself and that there was other rich investors who could; ie the three Bears. King has got something from the egm, but is it what he wanted or expected?
  15. King gets in the door and has to curry favour and get the support back; john greig check, supporter on the board check, new manager in place check! But in the meantime the bills and wages need paid. Lets hope the new board have their priorities in order, will be interesting to see where the next cheques come from.
  16. Im hoping stranraer and forfar come up and we stay put.
  17. Been at the games yesterday and today. there was 2 guys next to us who talked all through the murray match as if they were in the pub then left early in the ward game. Missed the better game. I thought dom inglot carried jamie at times today, i know he s been unwell but and he did improve. As for atmosphere, i think murraymania is responsible for a bit of the ticket sales, but perhaps attracts those people (like myself) who then are unsure of the etiquette and what is and isnt on. My family have enjoyed it but, we were sat up in the roof but would go back.
  18. Heres my prediction; lambias and leach change post but remain directors, easdale leaves, murray becomes chairman/puppet while king tests the sfa on the fit and proper person test, king sees the books, confesses its worse than he thought/can afford, ashley/sd 2nd 5m loan is required. King and ashley in bed together. Kings men run the club and ashleys fund it.
  19. i think its a condition of sd/ashleys first and second (imminent) 5m loans that he can put 2 bodies on the board. They move from head of finance/chairman or whatever to standard directors, king gets his "victory", ashley still holds the security over most the assets whilst the club continues to burn through his loan and indebt itself further. Only way to get rid of ashley (and his 2 directors) is to clear his loans.
  20. pretty sure i read that the conditions of the 5+5 loan is that if anyone else tries to force an insolvency event sd have the option to put in funds to stop it, also that the 2nd million would only be granted after due diligence and some assurance that it could be paid back, and that sd can nominate the administrator should administration happen. Only way to get out of it would be to pay the balance of the loan plus any early payment penalties there may be.
  21. every day theres something else! great for the spectator. Although a real harsh lesson. Who wants to bet on admin tomorrow? or dave king being an alien? john brown taking to the steps again?
  22. Aye, i took your form from the bbc website, wrote it down and misread it when posting here. You won your third and fourth games. We took a lot of pride from being the highest placed part time team last season, we hope to keep that position. There is a fair bit of getting turned over this year, you re doing well to be positive and upbeat about it, dumbarton are in a slightly better position but perhaps feel a little disappointed with it. I didnt mean any slight, i am happy to see alloa and cowden in the league with us, even if we re all fighting to be the least hammered at the end of it all. I hope to see stranraer or forfar come up too.
  23. beg your pardon, i made a mistake writing it down. Aye we fair enjoyed our draw with hearts, only for one of the hearts players to suggest we were celebrating like we'd won the champions league, sometimes its hard to appreciate the gulf between Us and Them
  24. define "very competitive" please...alloa won their first 2 games of the season and have won only twice since, one of them being last week. alloa have taken 12 points from 66.That said, i think we re comparing tomatoes and tomatos, neither alloa or dumbarton are doing particularly well, but then i suppose in a league this difficult you look for small positives and victories.
