I’m sure somebody provided data earlier that was obtained on site but you won’t be far off. The chairman told me a few years ago that the cost would be “astronomical“ but of course that was related to EOS levels of income so maybe it’s more realistic now. I took some match photos for him a few years back and told him I had levelled the pitch for him in Photoshop. He called me a cheeky c**t

Might just pitch up at that one Tam looks like a few changes since I was there with WW in the nineties. Don’t think they would win 8-0 nowadays…

Were the midges getting to him or something? Gutted not to make it, a combination of pixellot, sunset, iPad made a shite viewing experience of what looked like a cracking cup tie. I see somebody mentioned you could switch to YouTube, wish I’d done that so I could have cast it to the tv (d’oh). I did try the YouTube link beforehand but it looked like something dodgy at the time. Nice to have respectful unbiased commentary whoever the guys were, well done and bonus points for topping up our squad with new signings Draper, Walsh and somebody called Richards or Ridgerds No game for us on Saturday so it’s a shame your game isn’t at NDP as I could stroll along there after a couple of pints.

I thought Jarvis was outstanding on Saturday and that’s twice I’ve seen Peggie, good signing. I see they only had 5 subs at Caley and Currie wasn’t one of them, maybe the Rosey Posey faithful know more? Also Jonny Stewart got the full game, at 33 I thought he’d get an hour. Big Kerr Young never featured either, he’s a vital player. Doddsy was beaming in his post match interview, he was able to give game time to some fringe players and we got the 3 points and no injuries, which was our downfall last season.

Still off topic Ah that’s a shame. We went the first week in October and got some great autumnal weather. We were always north of Bergen and it was never busy (2019). I think the fjords could be busy right enough. The only cruise ship we saw was that huge bugger Aida in your photo, once in Tromsø and once in Trondheim. Because of the timings it never affected us as it was very early morning or late at night, and we called at both places twice so we got some decent time ashore.

I’m sure there was a small covered section where people were free to kipper themselves eta - although applying stereotypes you’d think all Norwegians were non-smoking, clean living types who put the planet before themselves. But going by the talks we got it’s just a myth. They’re just as messy as the rest of us.

Orkney has always been more “developed” for tourism than other places, e.g. Shetland. (Un)fortunately since the trendy southern colour supplements “discovered” Scotland about a decade ago and it’s no longer a miserable grey place where it rains all the time, tourism has exploded faster than the infrastructure can cope. In Stornoway there’s hardly a day now in summer without a cruise ship. Off topic but we never fancied cruising either, but I’d absolutely recommend the Classic Hurtigruten Coastal Voyage. From Bergen to near the Russian border and back, over 12 days. Only about 300 passengers although the ships are designed for 500. In a way it’s more like Calmac as they deliver Mail, cars, virtually anything up the Norwegian coast, to a strict timetable. They source all the food on the way which means local businesses can rely on them as every port gets a visit every day at the same time as there are 11 ships. You actually get people coming on as day passengers. They visit 34 ports although some are only for half an hour in the middle of the night, but otherwise you get 3 hours ashore each day, which is probably enough for small towns like Hammerfest and Trondheim.

First clapped eyes on her at a WW v Spamtins game at the San Fergie, where the consensus was that she was out of her depth. I’m sure I’ve got a photo of Wayne Mac making her laugh though. But she’s developed into a decent ref. -
Scone Thistle 3 East Fife U20 3. Farquharson Park, Scone. Took the opporchancity to drop off Mrs Mantis to see the gardens at Scone Palace with the cunning plan of taking in a game. Also a nice pre-match pint and steak panini at the Scone Arms, a decent hostelry.

I was last there in 2016, I remember that being there as there was nothing before. Think their wee bar was called The Howff.

Bonnyrigg Rose 0 Falkirk 3. A comfortable workout for the Bairns and a wonderful Calumn Morrison free kick for 2-0 after Oliver's opener. Kerr Young hit the post late on with a header which was really Rose's only chance, but Honeyman's acute angled drive made the scoreline convincing right at the death. Maybe about 700 there (edit - 725, including 205 away). Main ICT interest was Coll ya fanny Donaldson and sub Brad McKay.

When I went to see Stjarnan I just wandered over the other side for a photo at HT and nobody bothered me... That's a good shout Tam. My usual routine is Milnes or The Abbotsford in Rose Street, then a 27 from Hanover Street. For anybody driving, Spartans have a decent car park, but when it's full just use Morrisons.

Need to persuade Mrs Mantis to go back to Iceland (insert joke here). Been to a few grounds there, think I passed that one on the bus on the way to Stjarnan.
