"Fragile" 😂, fs JL has came out with some shit over the last year but this is a new level of hyperbole

All that means is, that these germ infested scaffs will jump on the Megabus through to Edinburgh. A horrific prospect.

No-mark losers like yourself don't get to decide the rules of the game champ. Get back in your box.

A guy who spends his whole miserable life on a football forum calling someone a loser.

I've been saying for a while this blind servility to lovely wee Nicola is not a healthy thing but aye here we are. As you please, she knows best. Keep the faith.

Gammon, minter traitor! Simp, yer da, gammon, tOrY sCuM, daily mail gammon.

I like some of your posts but must say I hate terms like "illegals" when describing people.

I’m not keen on that word either,  but these enforcement officers were only trying to do their job. Off the back of this, the SNP announced that they were eager to help the people that were being held, as opposed to the people that were trying to do their job. That tells you all you need to know.

Sure great that's how averages work, some get more, some get less. Point is Ireland, which is in the big bad EU, generally speaking has higher salaries for any number of jobs than here. The aim is to underline that Britannia isn't ruling the waves or even paying you a fair whack for your work.

It always surprises me, how many people want to live in Britain given how bad it apparently is.

You do realise the EU is a club made up of its members, right? It's not some alien invasion, dishing out orders to the Earthlings.

I get the distinct impression all you know about how the EU works you learned through the Daily Mail. Do you know how much scope paying agencies have to implement CAP? The's more difference between Scotland and England on CAP than on healthcare delivery.

The usual sneering nonsense with a Daily Mail reference thrown in. All that’s missing is some of that hilarious gammon patter.

Probably any number of variants of 'Ireland uses the euro. Did you know a bus driver in Ireland gets paid 35000 euros a year? That's ÂŁ30000. A bus driver here only earns ÂŁ23000. Euros don't sound so bad to me.'

Nonsense. LRT pay their drivers ÂŁ30k per annum.

    Go on then...

    What decisions ?

Well the most important one for a start. She made it clear that she wanted to be part of the EU’s shambolic vaccine procurement/rollout.

Then you’ve got the well documented fisheries, state subsidies etc. Edinburgh would have no input into these.

Are we not going to be friends, neighbours and trading partners any more with the rUK and the unaccountable House of Lords, just because we think that the important decisions regarding Scotland should be made in Edinburgh rather than London ?

    Very sad if true.

But the SNP don’t want the important decisions made in Edinburgh, they want them made in Brussels.

The simple answer to the EU question is that we can have a referendum on membership shortly after independence.

Given that we've only just come out and will still be aligned on lots of things and the EU would probably look favourably on our membership post Brexit, there's a decent chance we would be fast tracked or even admitted as some sort of legacy member.

However, there's no need to go into any of that unless there are cast iron guarantees from the EU. Equally, any yoons touting the 10-15 year timescale and forced entry into the Euro can be safely ignored.

Not a very simple answer if there’s only a “decent chance”. There is next to no evidence that Scotland would be fast tracked back in to their club. This is going to become a very hard sell for the SNP.

What is it about Blackford that winds up people so much? The only thing I can think of that he did that was straight up terrible was posting on twitter that some guy should go back to England during lockdown when he lived in Scotland, but that was ages after he'd been sending some folk nuts. Is there something else? I mean I know he personally killed Charles Kennedy but other than that?

It’s his appalling Monarch of the Glen look and awful humble crofter patter. He’s just a greedy man who’s made copious amounts of money in the City whilst blaming all Scotland’s woes on England. The same England where he’s amassed his fortune. Dreadful man.

Laura Pidcock and Richard Burgon are probably the two most empty headed politicians I've ever seen in my life. Genuinely the worst in ability I think I've ever seen. Burgon is hilarious, his leadership bid was nothing short of sensational. I don't think they "understand the North" in any meaningful way, Burgon barely understands how to tie his shoe laces let alone try and understand issues within Politics, they weren't even useful lackies.

    Burgon is horrific. Beyond dim.

Yes. There were three No parties on your ballot paper and you voted for one of them who you accept is a bawsac, for the sole purpose of keeping the Yes side down.

Even though independence could never happen without a referendum anyway.

It applies both ways, Yes & No - it's really reductionist to use your vote for literally nothing more than defeating the other side on one solitary issue, especially when it means giving victory to a bawsac.

There has been page upon page in this thread of yes voters pointing out how to vote tactically and keep the nasty yoons out. The result of which, may entail bawsacs getting elected.

I notice you keep using this 'civic and joyous' thing now. Even against those who were critical of the gun boats being sent to Jersey on the other thread.

Staggering lack of self awareness tbqhwy.

It’s not really a staggering lack of self awareness. It was a retort to the predictable/puerile, appalling gammon banter and support of the French by the resident Nats.

It's really not. The Scottish Parliament is more diverse than the UK parliament, even though that parliament covers 4 countries.

I could never vote for a dickhead like Cole-Hamilton, even if it meant spoiling my paper. I've spoiled my paper before because the candidate from the only party I could vote for was an arse and I'd do it again.

Electing dickheads only harms your side over time. It's better to lose with the right candidate than win with the wrong candidate.

It may indeed be diverse, but they are diverse yes’s or no’s.

I say the same to you as I do to fundamentalist nationalists - there are far more important things than flags, and you don't need a noisome, car-shagging, bandwagon-jumping dishonest p***k representing you to express your view on the constitution. You can do that in a referendum.

But as you’ll know only too well Gordon, Scottish politics is now a binary scenario.

This is what happens when you try to be Tory lite and pander to fucking bigots.

If Labour do as badly as some are saying you would genuinely have to think that Starmer is a goner.

I know, but they tried the “1970’s Corbyn type Labour” and it was a disaster also. Labour are in a dreadful place. Either pander to all these trade union lunatics, or try and make themselves “electable” with a Blair type approach! No win situation.

He is a shit. And reliant on Unionist Tory votes in that seat.

I am one of those Unionist, Tory voters who takes absolutely no pleasure in voting for him, his work ethic is good but his arrogance knows no bounds. Not a nice man, but in Edinburgh Western, the denizens just want to keep the Nats out.
