  1. Looks legit. https://www.facebook.com/100053215086541/posts/915175986932896/?mibextid=rS40aB7S9Ucbxw6v
  2. Atmosphere wasn't great after the first goal and worse after the second. Almost like some people were waiting for us to concede so they could let loose.
  3. Frankie Musonda has apparently made Zambia's 27 man AFCON squad who will apparently meet up on Monday. Hope he has negotiated a 48 hour grace period or we are stuffed at centre back on Tuesday.
  4. Amartey, Chalmers and Dowds were magnificent last night, especially 2nd half when they combined well to drag us up the park. I have no idea why they were taken off as Raith couldn't cope with them and it is worrying that everyone could see this except Bullen. Those subs looked looked like subs for the sake of just making subs rather than seeing what was happening in the game. Big up to McGeady as well for his goal. He hadn't done much up until that point but it was a well taken goal. To be fair, the first 3 goals were all tremendous. The 4th was just hilariously bad goalkeeping. At the other end, we have been chuntering on for months about the full backs but last night the problem was piss poor defending from the centre halves. The tracking and marking at the first, second and fourth goals was appalling. No complaints about the red or penalty. We now have a huge problem at the back unless Stanger is fit. Love him or loathe him, McGinty his played well this season and has looked the most accomplished defender we have, so not sure how we replace him for the next few games. Seen a few posts saying we should appeal it but IMHO it would be a waste of money as he caught Easton about knee high, with his studs.
  5. This is mental stuff. Entertainment off the scale, from stupid red cards to cracking goals and a hilarious bit of slapstick goalkeeping. And we still have Raith's last 5 minute charge to come.
  6. Just glad to finally win another home game, 4 bloody months after the last home win.
  7. Best spell of the game then concede a ridiculously soft goal from a corner. Every week.
  8. Morton had a simple game plan. Anytime Ayr have the ball, just foul them. Bad fouls warrant a booking but you can commit as many niggly fouls as you like when the ref has forgotten the bit about persistent infringement They saw how well we hit on the break over the last few games, so just didn't let us break. It was obvious what they were doing after 10 minutes as they just pulled us down then reorganised their defence to deal with the inevitably poor set piece. Another team turns up at Ayr knowing they can just bully Ayr out of the game. Lost count of how many times it has happened over the last few years and we need to find some mental strength from somewhere or it will be a long time before we see another home win.
  9. Check it back to the start of the calendar year. Think it's something like 5 wins in 16 home games. Horrendous run of home form.
  10. Mixture of both. Dunfermline are all over the place at the back and Syla and big Aggie have controlled the midfield to the extent Albinson hasn't had anything to do. A very impressive 45 from Ayr but Pars were woeful.
  11. That first half was unbelievably one-sided. How Ayr are only 1 up is baffling and it could easily be 4 or 5 with the chances they've made and missed. Need to score a 2nd before Dunfermline get their act together as they have been dreadful. Night and day to the sterile dross served up earlier in the season.
  12. I have tried to give him the benefit of the doubt due to the different players he has to work with, but last night tipped me into the "Bullen out" camp. Play offs. Partick drew our full-back wide then fed the ball into the channel between full-back and centre half, hammered it across goal and Graham knocked it home. Scored at least 3 in the play off with that move. Their first attack last night was the exact same. Goal. Lawless. Did nobody notice the guy was good on his left foot? Did nobody think to tell the players to show him down the line on his right foot rather than let him drift inside while the defenders back off? In three games against Partick we have made the same mistakes and lost heavily on all 3 occasions. That's not the fault of the new players but is entirely down to the standard of coaching. I expected us to be alert to the move that cost us heavily in the play-off but it took less than 2 minutes for us to concede to it again. I expected us to have a plan to deal with Lawless, but we clearly didn't. Sorry Lee. It's been a blast and thanks for the 2nd place finish but when the team keeps making the same mistakes and is clearly not learning, that's down to you. Time to go.
  13. Didn't take him long. The Graham/Adeloye to score anytime double pays out.
  14. Not having that from him. First goal they drew full back wide, slid ball into channel between between full back and centre half, cross, goal. Then they let Lawless drift inside onto his left foot. Twice. They knew from the play off that wasn't a good idea but to do it twice is criminal. That's down to coaching. Same mistakes against the same team. Thistle know how to play us, meanwhile we have learned nothing and make the same stupid mistakes in every game. Enough. Bullen out.
  15. Two games. Four goals conceded from switching off at set pieces and leaving players unmarked. Individual errors or coaching?
  16. A generous owner kept them afloat during the good times in the early 2000's. Next owner wasn't as free spending and had a problem with an unpaid tax bill that led to a winding up order. Also some issues over unpaid wages. Club was sold to new owners last season who embarked on some serious cost-cutting. Scunny is now more stable but need time to rebuild. They have a very loyal fan base and do a lot of good work in the community, especially in local schools through Study United. I worked in a school in Scunny a few years ago and was surprised how many of the kids followed them and attended regularly, mainly down to the links built by Study United.
  17. Young players are fine as long as they have plenty of streetwise older players to guide them through games. That's where the problem lies. We don't have enough older heads and those we do have are too quiet. Bullen is asking for experience but keeps getting kids. I would love to be proved wrong but this strategy is very worrying when you look at how tough the Championship is.
  18. Awful stuff from Ayr. Pass the ball across the back, then hoof it aimlessly up the park. Alternatively, pass it across the back then lose it. Or pass it out of the park. Musonda might add some dig in midfield but creates nothing and the midfield offered nothing positive all game. Three awful goals to lose. Two unmarked players at set pieces and a comedy show at a hopeful long ball. Can point the finger at Albinson for the second goal all you like but he made several very good saves or that would have been a lot worse. Will Chalmers and Murphy add enough to prevent a relegation that would be merited based on that absolute shitshow?
  19. Couldn't care less about McGeady's choice of country. He's an Ayr player and looks to be an outstanding signing for this level. As long as he does the job for us I'm happy and don't want to get involved in the bigot brothers petty nonsense.
  20. Didn't mind losing the Dundee final as it was a decent game and the better team won on the day. The Accies final was the complete opposite. Dreadful game with Accies content to sit in and defend for 90 minutes then hit on the break. Just knew the game was over when they scored.
  21. First home win in 3 seasons against the hammer-throwing Highland fermers. Second win against them in 11 attempts at Ayr. Will happily take that and move on. We all know the squad needs a bit of work yet (for me, 2 new full backs, another midfielder a winger and a partner for Rose) so let's just enjoy the feeling that, right now, there are teams in a worse position than us.
  22. Still need 2 full backs. Murphy looks a tremendous signing. Good to see two wide players actually run at their man and try to make something happen. And we still have Rose and McGeady to come in. Annoyingly, even if we win on Saturday, we might not be seeded as three teams can still get 12 points.
  23. The final whistle at the Hibs semi-final and knowing my old man would see us see us play in a final.
